" Budget are a very good car rental company. I am sure they would get a lot more business if they would increase their rental period. To cover the 10 weeks I rented the car I had to take out three vouchers. "

" All fine other than that the insurance cover is not provided by Hertz and as a result you end up paying twice to avoid being exposed to a large excess and having to recoup that after the fact. Needs to be made clearer to the consumer that this is the case "

A small thing but worth mentioning is that they did cash the SA R3000 deposit paid on collection pre confirmation that there were no extra charges on return of the vehicle and when this was credited back, the exchange rate movement has meant that there was a small amount charged. Of course, exchange rate the could have gone the other way. "

" generally good but totally ignored by staff behind the counter for nearly 15 minutes when returning the car. there was no other customer there at the time. very discourteous! on the plus side the final invoice was received within 4 days and credit card refunded in the same time ( a pity their colleagues in Johannesburg are nowhere near as efficient!!). "

" As with the previous hire in Johannesburg we had been 'tricked' into believing we had tyre and windshield cover with First Car. You have to make it clear on your site that the cover is with Auto Europe, maybe! Not very ethical. "
" Car was what we requested but the internal windows had not been cleaned after the previous user and in the cold night they steamed up and would not clear almost causing me to lose orientation on the N2. Could have been serious. "

" The fuel tank was not filled up to full, when we drove off the needle immediately starting to drop. We were expected to return the car with a full tank and were told by Hertz that if we drove more than 10km after we last flled it up, they will have to refill it at a charge. Not very happy! "

" Fuel guage did not move for 250 kms, phoned Hertz to ask their advice, they said this was normal for a Polo Surely not! Obviously I could have taken delivery of a car whose tank was not full and conversely I could have left it in the same condition, The problems of running out of fuel miles from anywhere are obvious "

" We usually take a mini or economy car as it is only used for local journeys when we stay In Knysna but this year took an economy. Surprised that no electric locking and manual windows "
" On arrival given car for 60 days which had done too many miles to last the whole time. Had to have a car delivered to us in Knysna which required us to make time for change over. As our house was located at Pezula some distance from petrol station we were unable to refill in time too. On returning car no one to check it over with us so just had to go to desk and hand over keys before checking in for our flight. Hopefully there will be no difficulty following this but did not have time before check in for our flight to complain about this "
