On arrival that vehicle was not available at all and the alternative was the same size but incredibly basic with no features. I'm not daft I know this is often the case that you don't get the same car but this was miles off. The car ran out of washer fluid on the first drive. Next morning the tyre pressure warning came on. Topped up all four tyres which were all very under inflated. Car had a number of bashes and scrapes. "

Charged me for crash surcharge even though their own agent had already claimed on the third party's insurance. Then would not refund the surcharge and withheld part of it without informing me. The car selected at Larnaca was a KIa Stonic hardly the best of vehicles for me and the family. The vehicle was too low to the floor and gave me a bad back, accessing the childrens baby seat was troublesome with the vehicle being so low. Not the right vehicle for the family - sorry. A Kia Stonic is not an SUV. "

" For some unknown reasons they said my credit card kept getting declined although working. So had to pay an extra insurance charge as would not accept the 2 nd drivers card. So paid both AutoEuropa and sixt for insurance. Cost me an extra 175 euros or was not allowed to get car and at 11 pm with a drive to apartment was tired and not happy so paid. "

However, if you want to pay €3 a day extra which would mean an extra €57 for the hire, you can have a car now! Or if you want to pay an extra €7 a day, we can provide you with a larger car, this worked out at an extra €133. But my car isn't ready? She replied that's correct, so I asked why is there two other vehicles ready if I pay extra and not my one? She explained this was company policy and I can't wait for one at the time I ordered it for!! So I waited the thirty five minutes and was given a Skoda Fabia which was a bigger car than I'd paid for. " In the future I would use other rental companies that I have used before as I know I have experience a higher standard in customer service and very helpful at the rental desks in Pathos! This experience has put me off going through a third party provider for a rental car. "
" Arrived at Pathos in the evening around 8.00pm on the 31/05/2023. I approached the Sixt rental desk and started the process of collecting my pre-booked car through Auto Europe. The woman on the desk asked for a credit card for the main driver, I explained that as the main driver I did not have a credit card in my name only my debit card but my partner had their credit card with them and asked could we use this to hold the damages payment of 1000 euros. I was told very rudely and abruptly by her that I needed the credit card in my name as I was the maid driver and that a charge of £80 would be taken from my bank account to use this as the hold up to 250 euros. I explained that when booking through Auto Europe via the internet during the booking stages it did not state that the main driver needed a credit card or that charges would occur if debit cards are used. This information is stated once you fully complete you booking, payment is taken and this is stated during the last step when you receive you emailed booking confirmation. The clerk at Sixt was very unhelpful and rude towards me and my family which is very frustrating. I explained that I had rented cars before a Pathos yearly and that other car rental companies have taken credit cards from my partner before without any problems or additional charges. With reluctance I was made to pay the £80 to Sixt otherwise they would not allow me to collect the rental car. Very negative experience! " Get Your Car obviously have a deal with Sixt as we picked the car up from the Sixt desk, which was really convenient in Larnaca as it is just outside arrivals and there was no queue when we arrived. The car park is also just outside the airport and the car was waiting for us at the Sixt kiosk in the car park so we didn't have to go searching for it. The lady on the Sixt desk spoke excellent English and was really efficient. However, there was a lot of upselling - apart from the usual additional insurance offers, she tried to convince us to upgrade the car saying it was not a very powerful car. We refused and the car was actually really good so there was definitely no need to upgrade. "

" Accidentally chose a car without air-con which wasn't ideal with a small baby so I was made up when our car arrived with air-con so didn't need to upgrade, sadly the air-con didn't work, didn't realise this until we were quite far away from the airport. " First of all, the person at the desk, Roxana I believe, seemed really annoyed, like she wanted to be anywhere than here dealing with me. But it's fine, we can all have a bad day. That's not what really matters. What matters is that she asked me 800€ deposit for the excess plus 100€ deposit for the fuel. So I'm basically supposed to have at least 900€ on my bank account plus whatever I intend to spend during my holidays. The alternative if i didn't want to was to pay her 12€ per day (a total of 60€) for an additional insurance plus still the deposit of 100€ for the fuel. Should i have known this was going to happen: 1. I wouldn't have taken my insurance with you. 2. I wouldn't have booked with them. Then she asked me if I wanted an automatic car, a Nissan Tiida for 5€ more per day. I said no. When we go through my contract, she tells me that the car is a Nissan and is automatic. I tell her that I didn't want to pay for the automatic car, she told me that no, the upgrade is free. So I thought "great", but thinking about it, I got the exact same car than 5min before she was trying to sell me for an additional 25€... I've seen more in terms of honesty. I then go up to find my car, it was a Nissan Tiida Sedan first génération(2004-2008). Google it. My first feeling when i saw the car was "fuck, how old is that car?". Plus I came from a small car (handy in a country you don't know, to a massive family car that will be a pain to park and manoeuvre). But a car is a car, we check the car together, they had missed lots of scratches (which isn't surprising considering the state of the car), I get in, the left mirror isn't working. I can't adjust it. The guy comes and does it manually for me. I check the windows, the left window isn't working. So it's too much for me, I'm not paying that much for a shit old car that doesn't work properly when there's plenty of new cars around. So they decide to bring me a new car, a Golf. Great car. We checked the car, there were some small scratches on the alloy that the guy didn't want to write because they were too small. Yes they are small, but I don't want them to say I did them. I then get in the car and none of the side mirrors are working. I couldn't do the settings. I called again the guy to show him and to be sure he writes it as well, he said they only check the outside of the car so he doesn't have to write it, and tells me that yes, apparently the side mirrors can't be adjusted (implying: deal with it). So here I am, with a brand new Golf that is dangerous to drive because the side mirrors can't be adjusted and i can't see much. I'm sure we can agree that in the UK it would be illegal to rent a car like that. I was late to meet my friends, so I took the car and dealt with a shit mirror vision during my trip. When I dropped-off the car, the guy checked the car, said it was fine, asked me to sign the paper. After I signed, he wrote more things on the paper. I have no idea what, since I did not receive a copy of the paper. Apparently it is a normal process. When I rented a car in Nice (France) in July, I got a paper stating that I gave the car back in good conditions. So I don't know if all the car rental companies in Cyprus are like that, but that I had a really poor overall experience. "

" Ordered a Skoda Fabia 1.4 or similar. Was given a Kia Rio 1.3 which I do not consider as being "similar". I was traveling with a frail 86 year old and made it clear that I chose the Fabia because it has low seals and high seats. The Rio is the reverse. My passenger had difficulty getting in and out of the vehicle and once in could not see very little as the seat was so low. Your staff should be more aware and offer alternatives that really are "similar" to that originally booked. Having said that, there was nothing wrong with the car, other than a little under powered, but totally inappropriate for our needs. "
