" The car itself was clean and in general good condition but somewhat under-powered for the steepness of the hills in Kefalonia and in some cases it really struggled to get up them with a few people in the car. The clutch was burning too on some of the hills. I think there should be a minimum engine size/power for such a hilly "

" Staff were very nice and cost was cheaper than anyone else. Big air conditioned waiting room was welcome and a nice cafe next door. Shuttle to airport was short and no trouble. The car was quite old with lots of small damage and it wasn't very clean but that didn't matter. However the petrol gauge was faulty so I ended up spending much more on fuel than I needed to. Also they said it was full when I collected and it was only half full - I had to call them back to correct this - full to full is easier for the customer particularly with a dodgy gauge! "

I even double checked I had MEET & GREET with Auto Europe by phone before departing On the day of arrival , there was no one from Global to meet us .I spent about an hour going around the airport to try and find where the Global desk was!! I called Auto europe for help.The man I spoke to said 100% there is a Global desk/office at Zakynthos airport & so off I went to find it but it was not there ??!! Finally after speaking with 3/4 other local car rental companies at the airport they said I could find Global outside the airport across the dual carriageway ! I left my wife and son and trekked off in the heat crossing a busy dual carriageway and finally found the Global 'office' by the side of the dual carriageway. The Global man at the desk was called 'Denny '' . He said Global did not do MEET & GREET . I also had to return the car to the same place afterwards and criss cross the dual carriageway to get to the airport. Basically Auto Europe made a contractual written & verbal promise to provide Meet & Greet but this was not provided and caused us a 1.5 hour delay in the damned airport trying to discover what on earth was going on Not a great start to the holiday "

" Only two issues. 1. Petrol gauge failed to register the first two top ups with fuel, on the third addition it jumped from nearly half to nearly full. (Agreement was to leave it as full as I got It - half full.) 2. Even though I was returned my full deposit, my bank charged me a foreign currency transaction fee. Neither was Global's fault so no issue with the company. "

The vehicle had non functional air conditioning - which I mentioned to Mr. Grumpy when I returned the vehicle and he said "It's a new car. It works." " 1 - I don't understand why - when i have already provided everything online - it takes soooo long to 'check in' and actually get the car. Had to provide all the details again, then sign multiple forms, and wait ages while the guy tapped away on a computer. In the 21st century things like this should be quick and easy 2 - The guy at Global tried to sell me an upgraded car. I declined, but got the upgraded car anyway. That's great and all, but in retrospect it looked very much like i was being 'shaken down' to pay for something i was going to get all along anyway 3 - the guy at Global tried to sell me extra insurance. I showed him that i already had it, but he tried the hard sell telling me that 'the slightest scratch will cost between 300-700 euros'. I didn't take it out. In any case, the car was absolutely covered with scratches already ! 4 - As we drove away we could see that the tyre pressure warning light was on, so we had to turn around within 100m of the Global office, wait another 20mins while the guy sorted out another customer, before being told that the tyre pressures were ok and the light had simply not been reset 5 - The guy at Global tried to charge me 25 euros because we were at the office after 9pm. I offered him 25 euros in coins (which he didn't seem impressed with), i complained about the payment and he cancelled it eventually, mumbling something about 'should have already gone home an hour ago'. Not my problem ! The whole pick-u experience was pretty exhausting, after having been on the go for almost 12 hours, not what you want when it's 9:30pm and you just want to get to your hotel. On the flip-side, price was great, and dropping off was a breeze. "

" Horrible experience ,the worst ever welcoming from global ,I was waiting for a pick up 30 min to begin when I arrived at the office I produce the paper work that I received from you the lady check it and said to me that I am not on in the system I am not booked ,she was checking with the manager that he came after 30 min at this stage I had lost more then 1 hr I had to contact yourselves and one of your colleagues spoke and send the booking details after they told me your insurance is not valid in Greece and they didn't do 1 day insurance. At this stage I lost lots of time 1:30 min due to that delay I didn't make it to my meeting on time and I had to order a taxi to make my way .I was very disappointed furious late for my meeting. The contract did try to highlight all the damage but hard to tell if all was noted. Once I returned the car the agent did not bother checking as I guess it could not be any worse. The front bumper was a different colour to the rest of the car. Body damage all over. Headlights did not work, no water in the washer jets. Car was old and dirty. It looked like a courtesy car to me, one which the staff would probably run around with. All in all, really bad. I would like someone to contact me and for some form of recompense. "

They replaced the car for a smaller one. All was well until I sadly hit a rock and damaged the car. I informed them and they said all they could do was send a tow truck at 150 euros, I mixed it with rope and drove it back the next day. They charged me 640 euro, when the garage told me it would be 300, they charged £150 euro for paint work when it was unneccessary. "

" We had to wait about 30+ minutes to be picked up from the airport although when booking we were not told that we would be picked up from the airport, it was only when I phoned the day before we were due to have the car that I was told that there would be someone to meet us in arrivals (the thing was we had arrived 2 days before and thought initially that Global had an office at the airport) So after the phone call we went to the airport as instructed and after two phonecalls asking them where they were they arrived and took us to their office, which as it happened was about a 4 minute walk from the Hotel we had been staying in, in Heraklion and if we had been told Globals office address it could have saved us the taxi fare to the airport and the frustration and the phone calls of the waiting for them to turn up. But after all the issues we arrived at the office and from then on we received a first class service, great staff, great car and easy to book in and return the car. "

He ask me whether I wanted to reduce the excess from 1250 to 300 eauros for 7 euros per day, even though I paid CDR through AutoEurope and had my own additional cover. "

I got a manual Hyundai i20 which they said was an upgrade from an Opel Corsa which I thought was the same size more or less. But there wasn't much choice.
