" We purchased full insurance through autoeurope. However goldcars refused to give us the car unless we purchase full insurance again, that was extra £50. The vehicle had dents and scratches all over, which was highlited to the officers where we collect the car, their answer was that is ok as we are fully insured. Thank goodness we took a video of the condition of the car on collection, as shortly after we dropped the car off, we received an email from the insurance as they tried to claim we had dented and scratch the car. When we dropped off the car, as it was after hours, we were meant to drop the key in a key box. Someone approached us and asked for the keys saying they can park the car for us and drop the key (confirmed scan). Also, a day later, they claimed we have not returned the car with a full tank, fortunately we had taken a picture of the dashboard showing a full tank and kept the receipt for filling the tank just prior to drop off. I have noticed a £13 charge on my account from goldcars, no explanation, which I will have to call them tomorrow for an explanation. In conclusion, avoid them, but if you must use them make sure you protect yourself by keeping solid evidence of every little mark on the car. "

" The Goldcar counter staff person at Antalya airport was devoid of customer service. He tried to pressure us into taking additional insurance even though I had purchased zero excess with Auto Europe when booking. I phoned AE to confirm that I had zero excess. The AE agent spoke to the Goldcar guy to say he shouldn't pressure customers into taking their insurance. He said he wasn't pressuring. I certainly felt pressured! The outside where we picked up the care was very good - couldn't believe they were in the same company! Return was mediocre. Even though it was during their office hours, there was no one there at the time. We waited for a while and eventually a Goldcar rep came. He checked the car, said OK and cleared it on his tablet. I asked for a signature to indicate that it was returned satisfactorily. He very relectuctantly scribbled his initials on my check out form. I am used to getting a receipt that shows returned OK. Especially with the first rude guy, I didn't trust Goldcar not to come back and say there was damage to the car. I would not recommend Goldcar at Antalya airport. "

" I would like to make a complaint regarding this to your company and specially to Goldcar. Furthermore, I would like to get back the money I spent on the Satnav that did not work and the £35 I spent finding the address on Google with my phones data. Depending on the outcome of my complaint regarding the Satnav I may or may not recommend Auto Europe. "
" On Saturday 12th of October we arrived at Izmir airport in Turkey and we went to the Gold Car counter which was in another terminal and since hardly anyone speaks English it took us more than half an hour to find. It would be useful to put the full address of which terminal the desk is located instead of only putting down the address as "desk in terminal". On arrival at the the desk we got the paperwork and we needed to pay for the car seat and the Satnav. The person behind the counter also asked if we require insurance which I said no. He then took out his mobile phone and showed me a photo of two very small scratches and said if you don't have insurance and the car gets scratches like these we will charge you 1000 tl (£150). I thought this was too much, however I did not want to take any risks. I was handed over the contract. The one for me to keep was in English and the other one for Goldcar in Turkish. I was told to sign the one in Turkish. No matter how much I told the person behind the counter that I didn't understand what I will be signing they said that the Turkish one is the translation of the English one. I think this is wrong as the Turkish one could be anything as I don't understand Turkish. I think most people coming from other countries don't understand Turkish, therefore your representative behind the counter should understand English and should give an English version to us to sign. I signed the documents since I had paid for the car and me and my family were very tired. We went to the parking to get the car. The person in charge showed us a few options for the child car seat. All of them had biscuit and crisp bits in them which the company had not even bothered to shake off. Some of the child car seats had chocolate marks on them. I chose one or two that only had biscuit and crisp bits so I could shake off but the guy showed us that they did not have belt to buckle my child. Therefore there was only two options left that had chocolate marks. I asked what's the point of putting the seats that don't work and asking me to choose from them. Unfortunately the guy did not speak a word of English. He put the car seat inside the car and I put my child in it and tried to fasten the seat belt. I could not fasten him since the seat did not have the lock at the bottom in order to fasten the belts into. I called the guy and showed him that. The guy took the car seat and brought a clean child car seat that was hidden in his office and was not in the options he showed me. Anyway, we got the address and I asked the guy to show me how to put the address in the Satnav since it is different in Turkey how the put their address in comparison to the UK. No matter how much he tried to put the address he could not do it. Finally he said that he has put the town we were going to (Kuşadası). We sat in the car and we started to go towards Kuşadası, at the same time I was thinking what do we do when we reach the town and how do we find the address of the hotel in Kuşadası. As we went outside of the airport the route to the town on the Satnav suddenly went away and I didn't know which way to go. It was at that time that I could not take it anymore and at the first roundabout I turned around and went back to the airport and went to the main desk that I did the contracts. I told your representative behind the counter that I don't want the Satnav since it doesn't work. The guy said that he cannot take it back. Please be aware that from the time we got the car to the moment I arrived at the desk it didn't take even 20 minutes. I told the guy to put the address in the Satnav and he replied that he doesn't know how to work with it and to go back to the other guy that hands over the cars. I told him that he could not put the address of the hotel and could only put the town we are going to. He phoned his colleague and confirmed what I told him. He then told us that Kuşadası is a small town if we go there we can search for the hotel and it would not take very long. Hearing this after approximately 2.5 hours after the flight has landed with a tired family which includes a 1.5 year child was devastating and humiliating. No matter how much I argued with the guy ( who did not speak English very well) it was pointless. He could not understand how we cannot go around in a town 1.5 hours away from the airport in search of a Hotel at 12:30 midnight with a 1.5 year old child. He kept saying that the town is small you will find it. After half an hour of arguing that I don't need this Satnav because it's not showing me the address and that for the same price I can get a SIM card for my phone with data and find the address on Google he searched on the internet and came back with an address and told me that this is the correct address and I should pit that in the Satnav. I did as he told me and it showed a route to an address in Kuşadası. We went towards the address and reached it after 1.5 hours. However, when we arrived there was a row of houses with a security guard. I told the guard that we had reservations at the hotel and the guard that did not speak English told us "No Hotel". It was at that time that I found out that this is a wrong address that we have come to. I showed him the address we had and he moved his hand in a motion that indicated far away. At that time I took out my phone and spent £3 per 1 MB of data, put the address in Google and went to the address. We arrived in half an hour at 1:30am with a tired and hungry wife and child having spent £35 of data. I put the Satnav in the dashboard and never used it since. I called your company the next day and spoke with a very nice man who asked me to send an email to this address. I do not know why Goldcar representative behind the counter could not take back the Satnav and had to put me and my family in such a situation. I am not happy with your services especially since my wife and child had to experience this. Because of this experience we were very tired and as a result did not enjoy the next two days of our holiday. "

Then when i had sorted the paper work out i was told i had to wait outside at the taxi rank to be picked up and taken to my car. " The Staff at YouTube counter at the drop of was rude, unfriendly and respect-less. First he raised his voice regarding the fuel station we took which was 20km far from the airport. We are tourists and obviously we don't know the closest fuel station bearing in mind that 20km is equal to 3 litres of Diesel if not less than that. Secondly we asked him politely to help us take out our luggage because we were two girls and it wasn't easy for us to take it out. His response to that was in a arrogant and unfriendly way that this wasn't part of his job description. My whole family was renting at gold car but unfortunately that will never ever happen again. This was my worst experience ever! "
