" I had booked the car from 9am as we were arriving in the early hours of the morning and staying at an airport hotel. I was under the impression that since I booked it and paid for it from 9am it would still be there if I was a bit late. I arrived at around 11am and was told by an extremely rude and confrontational male that I was late and the car was no longer available. After a lot of huffing and puffing he finally arranged a car for us which quite frankly was a piece of junk. Dints, scratches and dirt all over it and it stank of cigarettes - it still stank when we gave it back 6 days later despite driving with the windows open most of the time! I expected significantly better from one of the bigger car hire companies! "

" Upgraded a few weeks before we went in holiday and that was straight forward with the refund of the previous car being prompt "
" We selected an intermediate car which turned out to be. Toyota Corolla 1.3. This was so underpowered for 4 people and luggage. Struggled up hills where lorries were overtaking us. Thought approx £270 for 8 days for this vehicle was excessive. "

" As I feared, Auto Europe had not passed on to Hertz my request to take the hire car out of Romania and into Bulgaria. This meant that when we got to the desk in Bucharest Airport not only was our car not ready but they had not prepared the necessary paperwork to make this possible. This was despite me calling both Auto Europe and Hertz several times to confirm that this would not be a problem! "
" The Hertz desk at Bucharest Airport was oversubscribed and under staffed. There was only one worker on the desk and this led to very long delays. We had to wait for 2 hrs 30mins to get our car as the one we had booked was not available. There also hadn't been proper communication between Hertz and Auto Europe to state that we needed to take the car from Romania into Bulgaria which created further problems and delays. Overall the experience was tiresome and unpleasant and not the way to start a holiday. After the 2hr 30 min wait we still had a 4 hour drive ahead of us, which meant we arrived late at night and very tired. "

" The only professional aspect of our experience with the counter staff, was the way in which additional charges were applied to our rental. The fee for an unwanted upgrade was extorted from us before a car was made available. The green card cover that was paid for was not issued, I had to have this sent to me later, and the administration of a report of damage on our return, unsurprisingly valued the cost of the repair at five times the amount of the estimate that we had received in Hungary, where the damage occurred. The staff in the compound who dealt with collection and drop - off, were however excellent. "

" I had a pleasant experience with this company, the car I had was about 1 year old and drove and handled very well- no technical issues with the car. We also had an upgrade of the car- probably they were over booked for the class we had chosen, but it was good for us. The only aspect I wasn't that happy with it, but not such a big issue, it was their policy of returning the car with the fuel tank empty- I think it is much easier to bring the car full rather than running out of diesel because you are stuck in traffic on the very busy Bucharest ring road or worrying how far is the next petrol station because you don't know the area- but this is a minor detail. I totally recommend this company and will definitely use it in the future. "
