" The discrepancy on the hire document between the hire time and our flight arrival time caused us problems. This needs to be accurate. "
" The rental agreement said 10.00 pick up rather than 14.30 (which is the time our flight arrived, also on the document). I phoned Auto Europe the day before & your rep said they would email Madeira rent. They refused to change the time so we had to return the car early on our return or we would have been charged an extra day. We had 2 small children with us so that was very inconvenient & meant a 4 hr wait at the airport. They also said the car we had booked had a 1 litre engine which surprised me as it was in the third category up. So they persuaded us to pay an extra £200 for a larger car with stronger engine - Madeira has steep hills. We enjoyed the car we ended up with but I felt their customer service was poor because we hadn't booked directly with them. The position of the car hire at the airport was excellent. "

" Have used auto europe before. Would be good to have more option with lower deposit and more cleat on what is included as all companies are different and confusing. "
" I was a bit apprehensive with the reservation at first due to negative experiences from other customers from various websites but in the end it turned out to work all fine. Car was in good conditions although a bit difficult to drive in the motorway. Only negative part is the experience at collection as staff are scaring you off if you do not pay full coverage insurance wich is more expensive than the rental itself. It would help if they had better manners but this seems to be the norm with all car companies in holiday destinations. Drop off was quick and lady was very friendly. "
