I called your office to ask if the booking could be altered into my husband's name, and although the lady I spoke to was nice your system did not allow for the change to be made. I understand that the mistake was mine but I also feel that your systems should allow for human error and be more flexible. It would have been very easy to cancel one booking and reissue it in the name of my husband. I would therefore ask that, as a gesture of good will, as I have booked car hires previously through your company, you refund me £152.91 as the car was not taken and I had to pay twice, €434.24 to Centauro and £152.91 to Autoeurope. " The problem wasn't really with Centauro but with the system's inability to be flexible in changing a booking. I hadn't realised that my licence had expired and we had to pay full price for a new booking in my husband's name as the system wouldn't allow us to just change the details. So I had to pay €434.24 to Centauro on top of £152.91 for the original booking. We also couldn't get the car that I had booked, a Ford Focus which was waiting for us on the forecourt, and were given a Kia Nero instead which was one of the worst modern car my husband had ever driven. The staff at Centauro did their best to help but as I said the system would not allow them to change the booking. "

Upon collection, the agent, who spoke limited English, insisted that this amount was a deposit, despite my clear explanation that I already held valid third-party insurance for driving in Spain. I paid the amount in good faith, expecting it to be refunded upon return of the vehicle. However, I have since discovered that this was not a deposit but an insurance premium, which I did not authorise or require. The vehicle rental fee of £172.18 had already been paid separately prior to collection. I am attaching evidence of my existing insurance policy, which clearly covered the rental period. I respectfully request: A full refund of the €340 insurance charge. A review of communication practices at Murcia Airport to ensure agents clearly distinguish between mandatory deposits and optional insurance products. "

" There were no instructions provided on our voucher from auto europe about how and where to collect the car from when we arrived at Murcia airport. It turned out the Drivalia office was located off-site and we eventually by chance spotted a mini bus collecting some other passengers and we were able to flag him down and we were collected on the next pick up but this took nearly an hour and no one was picking up the phone in the Drivalia office. I have two special needs children who were getting very anxious. Apart from that everything was fine. "

" First time use of Auto Europe, but the deal they found me with a company I would use was excellent value for money and would look to use them again. "
" Whilst I have used Centauro directly before, I have used their Premium service which is quite expensive, and this time I didn't require the extras they give in that, is I tried the more basic service as the pricing was very attractive given the short notice of my trip. I would say that the only negative I would state is the fact that the counter staff take you through your booking in, take the card deposits for the excess and fuel and ask you to sign an electronic pad, but don't explain fully why you are signing. You get your car, check it over take images of any existing damage but have nothing to check it against [or as I thought being my first time this way]. Having taken photos and video of the existing damage, thinking this should do if there was an issue when I bring it back, I left. On arriving at my apartment I checked my phone to find I had been emailed documentation which had my signature on it [from the pad] and showing a simple map of the vehicle with list of where Centauro believed there to be damage. Checking this against my photos I believe there was more than listed, and the document states 'IT IS THE CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY TO RAISE ISSUE OR POINT OUT ANY DESCREPENCY OR ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE BEFORE LEAVING. This concerned me so I emailed Centauro with my issues and enclosing the images. However I would say there was no need to worry as the vehicle was returned as taken and the staff cleared it as such. Therefore I would say my lesson is learnt and I was once a gain very happy with the Centauro service and definitely continue to use them. "

" Although there were plenty of indications in the small print of potential extra costs in Auto Europe contract, there was nothing to indicate that the payment made for the rental of a car through them was for the car only and that there would be compulsory extra fees for insurances. " I think that this is the third time I have hired a vehicle with Drivalia at Murcia Airport via yourselves. As is evident by the scores I have given essentially Drivalia has provided a worry free experience on each occasion. However the two points outlined above do concern me. "

Firstly I was told that due to our destination being too far from the Drivalia office (about 120 miles) we would have none of the breakdown cover normally available. Consequently we purchased Drivalia's additional insurance cover for approximately 15 euros for the hire period(I appreciate your standard warning if in doubt about purchasing any additional cover). I am wondering whether your voucher could make it clear for what distance any standard breakdown cover remains effective. Secondly I was told that the hiring was subject to limited mileage, I recall 2000km. I pointed out that your voucher states mileage to be unlimited. The response to this was that in appropriate circumstances Drivalia would have charged you rather than me. In the event I don't suppose that I drove more than 500 to 600km but I was surprised about the information given to me in this respect. Drop off was a smooth experience. "

" More often or not we use Centauro when hiring a car from Auto Europe and the experience has been good. This time we ordered an economy car and were given a mini car with a lot of minor damages. Because of its small size we could not get both of our small suitcases in the boot and had to place one on the back seat. Also, we were unable to provide transport to our friends at our destination due to the rear area being too small to allow seating with adequate leg room. Regarding petrol they gave me this car saying 'same to same' and they said it was 1/3 of petrol and they want the same back, but after driving for just 1km it was only 1/4 of petrol. I returned back 1/2 of petrol. Also they asked me if I was renting from Drivalia before, I said yes at one time. He said that I have unpaid bill from the last time, which was a vicious lie. " Auto Europe was mostly great, except I was not entirely aware you were a third party when booking and that I was not actually hiring a car through Auto Europe. This needs to be made clearer at the time of booking. OK Mobility had a 1.5* rating on Trustpilot and had I been aware that my booking was actually with them I would ot have made that booking. "
" OK Mobility tried forcing us to take out thier extra insurasnce policy before they gave us the car. I explained that I already had cover through Auto Europe and that I therefore did not need their cover but the staff told me it was 'mandatory' to take their cover and I couldnt not leave without it. I have had to raise a complaint with my credit card provider as their is no contact details for goldcar directly. After reading their reviews this is clearly a tactic they use often in order to increase their rental fees after being the lowest fee on the market. "

The office was slightly off the AIRPORT attached to a service station, which caused big problems as on the way back which was on a Sunday they were closed and didn't offer a ride back but did leave phone numbers for taxis. When we called the taxi it cost us 22 euros to do a 2 min driv (we couldn't walk because it was on) motorway. This significantly increase the cost of the whole rental, would never use again and I am actively telling people to avoid. "

So, prior to the drop-off 'inspection', very pleased with the experience (so this review is not prejudice against Auto Europe - that has been good). "
" Pick up of the car was very good, and car (new Citroen C4) was excellent. Reason for low score was that on drop off, their agent was over zealous with the inspection. I pointed out one scuff to the front driver side wheel trim - I'd actually touched one of the high curbs on parking one day, so knew the cause - but the damage wasn't substantial. Plus, I'd also researched replacement trims on the internet beforehand, so knew that a set of FOUR trims could be obtained for less than £40 (UK). There was no other damage ie to tyre or wheel arch, so a charge of 74.38E is excessive (it will be a straight and simple replacement if done at all). Worse still was the 'damage' he then found beneath the passenger side front headlight. It was barely noticeable - so may even have been present when I picked the car up (I recorded said 'damage' on my phone, but it is VERY hard to see, it is so miniscule) - and I have no knowledge of how it occurred (or when!?). So I was staggered when a further charge of 152.89E was applied (if a repair is needed at all, a quick T-Cut would suffice). I was concerned with my flight check in time, so couldn't discuss this long with their agent, so with a final charge of 49.59E's applied for 'Administration' I had to pay 335 Euros there and then, and in order not to miss my flight. An upsetting and stressful end to a great car hire. I have discussed this with an Auto Europe rep - as I took out insurance - and am awaiting developments. "

" On arriving at the service counter to collect my car, I was first to arrive but was asked to step aside because my paperwork wasn't at the top of the pile! I had two young boys and was made to wait another 20 minutes while someone else with no children was dealt with. Once I'd been given the keys to my car, I went to inspect it as I was told there was damage to the rear of the vehicle. By chance, I took a picture of the damage which included a broken light lense. The company was aware of this damage but hadn't repaired it. When I returned the vehicle at the end of my holiday, an inspection was made by a staff member who pointed out the damage at the rear of the car to me. I explained it was there when I collected the car and he asked if I had proof!! I explained it had been identified on the envelope which my key was in, but fortunately I had photographic proof too. He then took a picture and said everything was OK. What if I'd not taken the picture? They'd have tried to accuse me of the damage. It took the edge off my experience and left me feeling anxious. How many times do you try to blame the same damage on different people by not repairing the cars? "

" We booked out hire car and paid for it expecting the need for credit card details to be kept however once I got there I was asked to pay a further £125 or a similar amount for any damage or hold £1500 on my credit card... firstly, I paid for the collision damage waver in my original booking and secondly I don't have £1500 spare on my credit card and I as not willing to pay anything extra.. so I was left with no car whilst I was visiting a very sick relative in a foreign country. At no time during the booking process was it explained that I'd have to pay extra on top of my original booking to drive the car away. Upon reading my voucher post payment and confirmation of my order I saw that I would be expected to retain an amount on my credit card at pick up not for one minute did I expect it to be such a ridiculous amount, who even has that to put on hold on a credit card when hiring a fiat 500.. maybe a sports car but come on this is ridiculous. I've just returned home and I'm only just getting around to making a full complaint today "

" I recently rented a car from Centauro Car Hire in Murcia. Overall, I was happy with the experience, but I was annoyed by the 40 euro fee that I had to pay when we arrived late due t a plane delay. The pick-up process was quick and easy. I arrived at the Centauro office at the airport and there was no line. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they quickly processed my paperwork. The car that I was given was clean and in good condition. We called Centauro to let them know that our plane was delayed from Gatwick, and they said that I would have to pay a 40 euro fee as we were going to land after 10pm. I was a bit annoyed by this, as I had no control over the delay. However, I understand that Centauro has to have a policy in place for these situations and employees have to stay late. Overall, I would recommend Centauro Car Hire to others. They have a good selection of cars, and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, be aware that you may have to pay a fee if your plane is delayed. "

I'm used to saying no at the counter when getting the car, but when they add it without your consent it is hard to trust again and as you can see spending three days of your holiday trying to get it sorted is not worth it. " I was told by Mario at the counter that the petrol station closed at 3pm and the nearest was 15 minutes away so I paid for the fuel I think will be £60 this was not true the station was open and I only use half a tank I have a picture to show the fuel on return. Because of this I checked my receipt at the apartment and found he had added extra insurance I emailed yourselves and then phoned several times and was informed to contact sixt which I did who informed me nothing could be done until the contract is finished this was now Christmas eve so we had this hanging over for Christmas. I have now had it confirmed they are removing the extra insurance but what a traumatic time so in future we will use the shuttle or taxis. Also, upselling at the counter is not helpful, we book online to avoid this and speed up the process. When we dropped off the car no reinspection was done, I was informed everything was fine and my deposit would be returned to my credit card. The car has no further damage, however; how can this be confirmed, this then opens up the possibility of spurious charges for damage after the fact. "

" Whilst sorting out the paperwork to collect the vehicle I became quite concerned by the approach being taken by the counter staff who were very pushy in regard to additional costs for the booking. Amongst other items Our representative was asking for @€28 for refuelling charge even though we were on a full to full rental as per our contract. After we resolved this he was pushing €87 as a fee to get rid of any accidental damage excess which we declined. He seemed annoyed by this and I was worried that the credit card hold of €1400 for any issues could be abused. Therefore on collecting the car ( in pouring rain ) we checked the car thoroughly for any damage and happily there was nothing notable on the vehicle. However upon return of the vehicle the lady who eventually inspected it ( she was taking 10 minutes per vehicle looking at every minute detail ) pointed out an almost unnoticeable mark and the side bumper trim ( of which I have photos ) which she said would be an issue. None of us saw the mark upon collection and none of us would have seen it if she had not pointed it out. Now back in the UK my credit card has been debited for £212 !!!! Which is an absolute joke but I have received no correspondence at all from Interrent explaining the rationale. I will be blocking this payment with my credit card provider until we get clarity of the charge as it is totally ridiculous versus the alleged mark ( please let me know how best to contact you to send the pictures so we can take this further ) "

" Arrived at Murcia airport and had to look for bus to take us to Centauro car hire this is a drive away from airport the only one that is as every other car hire firm is as you come out,on arrival at Centauro I was asked to put my credit card number in for my petrol,my card was refused I had put the right PIN number in as I know the number ,I tried again and still refused ,there was no one else in there waiting ,so he said ring your credit card office ,which I did and they said the cards been blocked as I've tried twice ,I then asked the chap behind the counter can I pay on my debit card for the petrol ,and he said no ,it was the first time we had flown to Murcia and we had a forty five minutes drive to where we was staying so we were stuck there, the chap behind the counter then said your pay on your debit card if you pay for insurance ,I said I've already paid for full insurance with Autoeuropa ,he wasn't very helpful,in the end I had to pay £186 on my debit card as I had already paid £189 it has cost me nearly four hundred pounds for six day car hire ,I hired a focus. But got a Fiat I asked did it have satnav as I didn't know where we heading but on entering the car it didn't so had to use my phone "

Customer service on collection poor-long wait in queue, rude person who trys hard to pressure into buying full excess policy. I refused he put a hold of 1230EU on my Credit card , the documents & booking via Autoeurope say 800EU!! He was not interested & charged 1230EU Car was dirty, had numerous scratches and dents. " On arrival, at car hire counter I was pressurised into taking out additional insurance to cover what was anyway a high excess. They wanted a further 160 euros to provide eight days cover for amounts above 300euros up to 1,500euros. This would have almost doubled the cost of hire. And 160 euros for eight days works out at an annual premium of 7,300 e for a very small range of cove. I think this is unreasonable. I took the risk myself. You should include insurance properly and have a reasonable excess, say 350 euros. "

" Good Afternoon. This is following on from an email complaint, which I have yet to hear back from. I am considering taking this matter further, taking to Social Media if necessary. To begin, after landing at St Javier airport Murica, where my family holiday home resides, I was poorly greeted by a member of staff whom we have since learnt to be named 'Jose'. I was aware that upon arrival we would be asked for a deposit which would need to be on a credit card in my name. I ensured there was 500euros on the card in case I needed that amount of money. To my utter surprise, even though I had taken out extra insurance, the Europcar representative asked to hold a 800euro deposit! Which of course I didn't have on a credit card. Upsettingly, we were not aware until the next day, after paying a taxi company 60euros to get to the family home, calling my bank to ensure I had enough funds to go back and secure the 800euros, a further taxi journey back to the airport costing 30euros, that this member of staff had wrongly and VERY RUDELY advised us. We only required 300euros to secure the car, which we would have secured there and then, this would have meant we could have collected the car as planned, not wasting the first day of our holiday and 90euros!!! Not only was the representative completely wrong, all he clearly wanted to do was pack up and go home, he had no time, or patience for us and he could see how much distress this was causing us. He clearly needs more training. Upon handing back the keys, which I have never done, I accidentally put them in the key drop and not back to the attendant who was with 2 other people at the time. He rudely and I mean RUDELY looked up and down at me and said "I am here you know" to which I saw red! He had caused us so much trouble and then had the indecency to look at me like I was a piece of rubbish. SO SO RUDE! He then waved me off and said "KK". I had to go round the corner and have my partner deal with him as I quite frankly couldn't stand the way he had spoken to me. What a HORRIBLE individual who needs more training both in the job and also in customer service. I am ready to take this to Social Media and will be letting my family know to avoid this company. My family are frequent users of rental cars due to our family holiday home and I will be making sure they are all aware of this and the individual who was so utterly rude and caused us so much upset and distress. " Only improvement I could suggest is that they limit the passengers to just the driver/renter of the car at the pick up point. The van filled up very quickly with non driving passengers, which slowed the whole process down. The renter of the car could go collect the car and go back for the passengers. "

" I took out additional insurance through Auto Europe for full protection and peace of mind which did not seem to go down well with OK. They made me feel that your insurance was not enough and that I would be underinsured if I did not take their insurance. I had to be quite forceful in declining their insurance and was subsequently given a car with 33 faults on bodywork. "
" Before picking up my car I asked the OK representative if there were any recorded marks on the car, I was informed that I would have to check it myself as last person had taken their (OKs) insurance on the car and it hadn't been checked on return. I found 33 dents, marks and scratches on the vehicle, it was at least 2 yrs old and had been through the wars! I felt I was given this car as I had not taken OK's insurance but rather had Auto Europe insurance, and that they hoped I would not note all marks and thus incur a penalty on return of car. "

We chose your company as the profile offered a vw polo or similar but didn't expect the poor condition of the seat we had instead. Despite trying to cover all insurances, they still find an excuse to try to ridiculously increase your costs by selling further insurance and trying to frighten customers into buying. This time it was roadside attendance after an accident at half the full cost of the rental. That should be included by any organisation trying to give good service to customers. The car we asked for was a small compact but we were supplied with a Belinga which looked like and drove like a van. We were told it was the only one left. "

My own credit card was refused because I did not know the PIN number so I had to be 240 euros on my debit card meaning the car cost over 300 euros for 10 day hire. After. we left we thought the cheapest way would have been for my wife to be put on as a. lead driver and then use her credit care but the assistant never suggested this option. "

Pressurised into taking extra unnecessary insurance which was bundled into an all inclusive cost with above charges. Calculations were presented on hand written note on scrap of paper. Car had 5 seats but told could only use 4 due to the category we had booked. I had to sign 2 forms accepting insurance would be invalid if i carried 5 people in the car. Car had 5 seats, 5 seat belts bit middle seat was tied up with black and yellow tape warning do not use as car only sold as 4 seat capacity. "

The car came with 1/8th less than full so I returned with the same as advised and have been charged 5 EUR for fuel plus a 35 EUR Fuel penalty which I have disputed and taken up with them. " After booking I called auto Europe to ensure everything was ok. On arrival in Spain I went to the Europe car desk who insisted my car was a fiat 500 when I ordered a Nissan micra or similar, I specifically choose this model as your website states a micra can accommodate 1 x large suit case where a fiat 500 can accommodate 2 x small suit cases. Europecar insisted that this was the similar model to the micra where clearly there is a different in luggage size , amount of seat ( I needed a five seater)and the price, for a bigger car which they had in stock would have cost me a additional €70. They would not refund the difference between the two car but would happily upgrade me at a cost. There was clearly non Nissan micra sat this airport which the website specifically shows you. Europecar employees were not helpfully towards us if any they were very arrogant. I was very disgusted I how me and my family were treated during this process and more so that we had to deal with a cramped and reduced seated car!!!! "

When at car pick up point paperwork not explained and fuel charges applied but not explained that penalty of 25 Euro would be charged if vehicle not brought back with same fuel. " Auto Europe is very easy to use and make an informed decision based on cost, quality and experience of rental providers and the voucher system works well with all renters I have used it for. On the occasions I contacted Auto Europe by telephone they are always customer focused, helpful and are my preferred rental broker if I don't book directly (which I often do!) "
" The vehicle condition could have been better, as is common in Spain, the vehicle has multiple dents, scrapes etc, not all of which were documented. Therefore I had to wait longer to get attention, have the employee agree the missing items to add to damage report before I left the airport. The car interior stank of smoking, which is impossible to eradicate in cars and is actually disgusting for non-smokers to tolerate. I feel the company could do more to enforce no smoking and penalise drivers returning who have flouted this. There wasn't even a no smoking sticker in the car, which is disappointing, unlike other rental companies. Apart from this inconvenience, the car performed well and we had no problems during our rental. "

" I am totally disgusted to find that I have been charged £181.48 on 12th June without any email confirmation or explanation or invoice. I collected the car in the dark on 31st May and was presented a damage description with one small damage to a bumper. I noticed a minor scuff that I could have buffed and polished out when I collected the car but misread the damage report thinking the small scuff I had seen was the marked damage. On returning the car an over zealous employee noticed the scuff and told me about it. I pointed out the damage report that I still have and he pointed out that the damage marked was actually at the front, not the back and I had misread the report. He then showed me the damage at the front that was so low under the bumper it was very difficult to see. He photographed the scuff, as I did and I can send you a picture. He also told me he didn't know if I would be charged or not but that he had to report it and I would be informed. As I had not heard for a whole week I assumed common sense had prevailed and I was not being charged for it. They have no right to take money from my card without informing me. I returned the car in exactly the condition as I received it and it was a technicality that I misread the damage report when I arrived. Anyway, the mark could easily have been polished out but when I suggested that the attendant said "it doesn't work like that" I will send another review exonerating yourselves if you will arbitrate for me. I will also need an invoice for the supposed damage. "

" Return check in very, very slow. It took about 45 mins to have the vehicle returned with paperwork to say there was no faults. This was due to people in front of us having issues with their rental. " Opel Astra was 11 months old it had done 75,000 Kms crash damage on the front off side wing, every panel scratched. The rear of the car had been involved in a bump. Under side panels badly scratched and dented interior badly cleaned. Stains and serious wear and tear on all seats. The air conditioning filter probably has never been changed as there was an odour from the A/C The car may have had a small engine however it struggled to pull through the gears. And lastly the fuel gauge bearly rested on the full marker on the petrol gauge. In short not impressed and would never use again regardles of cost and would never recommend Firefly....😡 "

The Firefly staff were friendly and helpful but finding the car was a little troublesome, I was told it was in bay 5 but this bay was completely empty. I actually found the car in Bay 1 with a little notice above the car saying Firefly 5. The car had scratches to its two front wheels and rear nearside bumper and I reported this damage to the staff. Otherwise the car was clean, well presented and nice to drive. Dropping the car off was straight forward but I would have liked someone to confirm there was no damage and my deposit intact. "

We only wanted one driver ie my husband to drive the car, but as the booking and credit card was in my name we had to pay for two driver tariff. "

" Hello, I was very happy about collecting the car and the service i was provided. However, due to flight cancellations i collected the car a day later then booked so only had the car for 3 days. I was still charged 57 euros for a full tank of fuel which i returned still pretty much full. When i have been with other car companies i have been refunded for the unused fuel, so i likely to book with other companies in future unless Auto Europe would refund me for the full tank of fuel that was not used. At the end of the hire period there was still half a tank of fuel left which I had paid for. "
