" Whilst I have no problem with your website if a vehicle is advertised as being provided by National it should be clear to the hirer that it will actually be provided potentially by another provider acting as an agent , in this case Enterprise The whole experience spoilt the first two days of my holiday messing around trying to sort it out. That way review research can be done prior to booking. "
" Having booked through National due to their positive feedback I was somewhat dismayed to find on arrival at Kefalonia that the car was provided by Enterprise. The vehicle that was initially provided was not cleaned externally due to the staff being very busy because of a recent hurricane on the island. Whilst I fully understood and accepted this I was assured that the inside of the car had been Covid cleaned but on inspection found mountains of sand in all surfaces with a 1.5 litre bottle of water rolling around behind the drivers seat. Clearly the car had not been internally cleaned even though there was a printed form hanging from the mirror assuring me it had been. The hurricane caused issues on the island which I accept but in this world of Covid there can be no excuse for handing a vehicle over not cleaned. If Covid was present it could have gone on to infect many more people. The replacement vehicle that was provided was not much better with junk in the glovebox. It had only a quarter of a tank of fuel when the contract says full to full. The central locking in the car did not work meaning it had to be unlocked manually with the key , engine started before all the other doors could be unlocked electronically. The car was old and clearly heavily worn with plenty of damage. The following day the vehicle wouldn't start as the battery was dead through no fault of my own( lights were set to auto) breakdown services had to be called and the vehicle was returned to the hire office. Countless excuses were given about the previous weather issues causing problems and we were made to feel like we were being difficult. Eventually after 3/4 he wait a newer vehicle was provided which I went in to use without further issue. However I had fuelled the previous car before returning it due to the faults and asked if I could bring the next one back with a quarter of a tank given I had provided the company with free fuel in the faulty vehicle. You would think I had asked for the world and a senior manager had to be contacted on the phone to authorise what should have been a simple "yes no problem" So on the whole a bad experience with enterprise when I expected to be dealing with national. "

" We were upgraded to a Renault Clio at no charge. The car was clean, but a coffee cup with coffee was left in the central cup-holder. There were many bumps and scratches on the outside. Not all of these were noted as the handover guy said what was noted was enough. Our trip was without incident and the car performed well. The drop-off guy said there was new damage along the driver side doors. This was not true and we were insistent that this was the case, so he signed the car off as OK. We had taken complete cover, so were not too worried, although I think we should have taken some pictures, even so. I am a very experienced and careful driver. We holidayed in a quiet area and parked sensibly. We don't believe in being careless with hire cars and treat them like our own. Recently we have been stung for damage by other car hire companies for unexplained or non-existent damage - 200 euros for a slightly bent number plate in France. It seems that car hire companies are becoming more unscrupulous in their efforts to maximise profits - which is disappointing in these times. "

" I have used Auto Europe for a number of years and always had good service. Not sure about National. Had car hire in Rhodes [ford fiesta] with them and it was okay but not in Corfu with a supposedly better car. "
" The car was not what I was expecting. Told it was a class above what rented a Toyota Auris. Had trouble getting 2 suitcases in the back. The car was difficult to drive as the clutch did not bite until almost totally up. Reported this to National and told it was the carpet and need to push peddle right down. Which was nonsense. "

" Had to queue about 30-40mins takes longer as I was not offered a online pre booking. Although the car was no more than 2 years old it had not been treated well and lack of repair ie broken rear light cluster, split wipers. But the tyres were new! "

" I have used autoeurope a lot. Generally it's very good so will probably use again. Often there is a discrepancy between what is agreed with AE and local conditions. For example it said free additional 1 driver but I had to pay 4 eu a day extra. "
" The car was very old and poor quality. The air conditioning worked poorly and the car didn't accelerate. I didn't try to change as I had to pick car T from airport and I didn't want to waste more time going back. My expectation is that the car hired is less than 3 years old. In fact I could have rented a brand new car directly from the hotel for slightly more. It was frustrating. Next time I will ask to change immediately but it phased me a bit. I have used autocar a lot and national. "

" When I bought my car from AutoEurope on-line for a National Car, I also bought FDW insurance as this clearly stated that paying the extra would give me complete peace of mind. What it did not say was that, although I was hiring a National Car, the insurance was from AutoEurope which, as very kindly explained to me by the staff at National in Athens if anything happened to the car they would use the 500euros blocked on my credit card and I would then have to start the whole process of retrieving my money from AutoEurope and not with them. I explained that this was not clear in any way when I bought the insurance and I was clearly very, very upset at this underhanded manner in which AutoEurope secured my money for insurance without giving the details under which the money is refunded should I be in an accident during the hire!!!! The staff explained that this happens all the time with AutoEurope but there was nothing they could do as people are led to believe that they are buying the insurance with the Hire Company, such as National, and not AutoEurope. On this basis, I would like to file a formal complaint with Auto Europe as they have most certainly mis-sold their product to their clients. May I re-iterate that I will NOT be recommending Auto Europe to anyone! "

" Car was dirty, had been WELL used, engine had no power, felt unsafe driving the car. Reported it to the office so that I could get a replacement vehicle of the same category. I was passed off to another office who then implied they had no vehicles available apart from a large saloon car which wasn't acceptable for off road. Issue was unresolved and kept the car for the remainder of the rental period. Staff were friendly but it felt like not a lot of effort or care was put into finding a valid replacement. "

" I have a mixed review. Once we got the car we were very pleased with value for money. The car was reliable and just what we were looking for and for the price bracket we wanted. However, when I booked the car I did so with my partners credit card with the plan that I would drive when we were there. I booked everything in my name but just paid with his card. The booking went through fine with no issue. When we arrived at kalamata we were informed that I couldn't be the named driver because we paid on my partners credit card (who was standing next to me). This seems absolutely rediculous to us and makes no sense. Your employee could not give us any reasonable explanation as to why this was and was adamant that he had to be the driver. As we had not been informed of this whilst booking he did not have his driving licence with him. At this point our 2 and 5 year old were getting quite impatient. After a lengthy debate we were told that we either had to pay a sizable sum in deposit or purchase the full insurance package. With no other choice this is what we did. Not a good start to the holiday. I plan to make a complaint. "

We arranged to return the car at 5pm at the airport, but no nobody was at the office until 6pm. The staff at the office tried very hard to sell us extra insurance in fact too hard, pressure selling has never impressed me. They also tried very,very hard to find something wrong with the car to a point of being offensive. The cost of the hire for the car was very good, the rest was to say the least awful! In all the years I have been hiring cars in Greece this was the worst example of customer care. "

It took 2 hours to replace the car, following poor communication between the depot and the lady delivering the replacement car. Again the fuel gauge on the 2nd car was on empty. We were not impressed with the service from National. "

" Sorry these suggestions apply to you about National.Arriving in darkness make the car inspection almost impossible to do accurately. Returning the car in what I am sure WAS in the same condition I was hit with a bill for a small scratch under the offside front bumper. Cost with tax £154!! I do feel this is a bit of a con by your local agent. I DON'T THINK THEY LIKED IT THAT I HAD INDEPENDENT COVER FOR ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO SELL ME A POLICY.I had the feeling they were determined to find something wrong!! The manager was very quick to point out that it wouldn't have been a problem if i'd taken out their insurance cover. Other than that the arrangements worked fine "
