At the point of collecting the car, I was required to pay an additional £52 'one way fee' as I was returning the car to a different airport. This expected fee was not communicated by AutoEurope during the booking process and I'm VERY annoyed about it. On my voucher, it was estimated as "0.00 GBP". If I had known about the extra £52 fee then I might have made alternative transport arrangements. Please can you provide your complaints procedure? I wish to make a formal complaint. " Friedly and smooth service at the desk in Glasgow, but later was much worse. The car I was offered had a serious damage to its alloy wheel (sharp edge cutting into a tyre). The manager said 'it was ok to drive', but I insisted on replacing the car. Nothing seemed to be working. The person who was at the car park with me was clearly annoyed. It all took ages. The car I was offered was not in a perfect condition and the size of the boot forced my family to place some of our bags behind our seats. The fees were really confusing and I was not even sure what I was paying for. Nobody told me how much would I pay for returning the car at a different location. During our trip we had a flat tyre. The communication via phone was difficult and generally unpleasant. I did not like the whole experience. "

" I am aware that the industry charges fees for one way hire, and these are paid locally, but I have previously seen them itemised on the AE voucher. Hence I was pleased on this voucher for LGW-LPL to see "OneWay 0.00GBP VAT not Incl paid locally." I took this to mean there was no one way fee on this hire, but I was extremely annoyed on collecting the car to find a fee of over £50 (incl VAT and airport surcharge). I now realise that what you mean is that the fee was not included, but you should not have have specified GBP0.00. It is important to write and understand English. In general terms, I cannot understand why you do not include the one way fee in your quote - after all it is a fundamental part of the price comparison. You must know what it is....and even if it is not part of the quote, it is essential that the correct figure is made known to the client before the hire. And please include the fee in your "rental excludes" info. I chose AutoEurope because I am a regular and generally satisfied customer. However I could have hired from Europcar through the Easyjet website; slightly more expensive, but they guarantee "no one way fees". Very dissatisfied. "

" I am being accused of damaging the car i.e. in that there is a nick out of the tyre. I have had an expert look at the photo that they eventually sent to me. They originally told me that no photos are taken in these situations given the number of these instances that take place. We pointed out the existing damage to the rim and was told that that was OK. There is no way I could have damaged this tyre and although I expressed my concern and pleaded my innocence they still deducted £200 from my credit card. I am disgusted. I will never use Enterprise again and they have not heard the last of this from me. Who ever damaged that rim on the type took the nick ut of the type. " I was let down by another company so I needed to book a car for immediate use. I am a doctor and had appointments with patients. National refused to release the car for two hours, in fact to the exact minute at 1443 hours! This was not made clear to me when I booked and I would have used another company in the adjacent counter of the Stansted car rental village. Windscreen repair companies are Mobile and operate 24/7 so why is it taking so long? I have lodged a complaint with them. I know I signed T&C etc and was taken round the car in the pouring rain so may have missed that the chip already there. The person to whom I spoke was courteous and attentive, and said she would "raise a claims enquiry" with National, and get back to me during the week beginning 14 January. 3 weeks later I have heard nothing. I am aggrieved that despite the loaning to me of a faulty vehicle I have not been offered a refund on the period of the rental that I did not use. In view of AutoEurope not getting back to me on this question I am not at present inclined to recommend AutoEurope to anyone. I am more inclined to advise friends NOT to use this company when hiring cars. I do however hope I shall still hear from the company with a response to the issue I have raised. "
" The car I was rented by National was a Renault Kadja - in most respects fine, but it had a defective alarm, which went off without reason on many random occasions. This included several instances in the middle of the night. These night time occurrences naturally annoyed my neighbours, from whom I received complaints. As I could not trace the problem, and had learned from consumer comments online that the Renault Kadja is known to have alarm problems, I decided to cut short my rental period, because I feared that even if I obtained a replacement car, my neighbours would not notice it was different and possibly damage it in some way. I therefore agreed with National to return the car to their Beckenham branch on 7 January, which was 6 days before the originally agreed dropoff date of 13 January. National told me they could not offer a direct refund for the period of rental not used: they said I would need to discuss it with Auto Europe. "
