" Shuttle pick-up from the airport was a short wait of approx 15 mins. Staff member at Niza was efficient and was clear to make sure we checked condition of the vehicle in detail, even advised to take photos / video (we didn't take out the full insurance cover, if we had then we wouldn't have needed this step). There is quite a large hold on the credit card but I was aware of this as it's clearly highlighted on the paperwork. Vehicle was not as fresh as some but we required a 9 seater so not as available which is to be expected. Car was clean and tidy with a full tank of fuel. We did have a tyre pressure warning but quick stop to get some air sorted that easily enough. Upon returning we mad sure the tank was full, needed to wait a few minutes for Niza to inspect, advised no issue and we were promptly returned to the airport. I'd seen some recent reviews which got me a little nervous that we may be stung with the existing damage etc. but taking the time to listen to the representative and carefully inspecting the vehicle resulting in worry for nothing... credit card hold was released a few days later. I've really enjoyed booking cars through Auto Europe in the past but you must look into and report this company to the relevant authorities and take them off your panel as they will damage your reputation. At the same time I could hear conversation taking place at next table where client was being told he'd have to pay for turning up late - 5 hours = €500 This was picking car up not dropping off late. Returning to my experience with Niza - I'd read contract and saw that excess would be charged as hire exceeded 8 days. I also knew I'd be charged for a full tank as it was full to full. My issue there is that tank was shown as 4/8 on contract and when looking lady noticed less than that so said just bring back below 4/8.. Nothing in writing. All very well if she is there and remembers 30 days later. I was debited a €150 for petrol. Having nearly filled from empty know it would cost about €80 to fill. The car itself had been through the mill and had numerous scratches on bodywork and alloys. Don't know how you could tell what was existing and what might be new. On return of vehicle the advisor was not interested in inspecting vehicle. I asked when will I get excess payment back - and I quote - depends on the exchange rate. I've now been back 3 days and heard nothing via a vis car condition or money return. I've been hiring cars abroad for best part of 25 years and this is without doubt my worst experience- it's the uncertainty following return of vehicle not being checked. As far as I'm aware no additional damage to that already known. On previous hires where car inspected- excess return is processed immediately. Email sent saying all ok - that's another thing my friend pick up a car from them a few hours earlier and he received email confirmation of vehicle contract / condition - I was given a paper copy. Inconsistency of approach. Incidentally the €1950 charge hit my account within 48 hours. Think that says it all. "

Seemed more interested in the excessive hard selling of their insurance, even when told I wasn't interested and had my own cover they continued to try the scaremongering hard selling of their own insurance.. The full-to-full fuel policy was not adhered to, only 4/10 in the tank, which inevitably means one is likely to return the car with more fuel rather than run the risk of penalty charges. When returning the car, no one wanted to check the condition of the car and they only took the keys. They took the 1200 euro deposit plus 100 euros fuel charge IMMEDIATELY from my credit instead of posting as a pending transaction, consequently I had a £33 currency conversion charge to pay to my credit card company. I will have the same when my deposit and fuel charge are finally refunded therefore costing me a total of £66 in currency conversion charges where they should have only been pending charges. It is now 4 days since the car was returned. There were no new dents or scratches and more fuel in the tank than when got it, BUT my refund has still NOT been credited to my credit card. If they can take the deposit immediately, then they should be able to make the refund immediately. I would strongly urge Autoeurope to reconsider how they do business with such a company because I will certainly NEVER use NIZA again. "

The woman at Niza asked for €1,500 deposit that we were expecting, but then demanded a payment of €147. I said that I had paid £144.86 to Auto Europe, she replied that she didn't care about that, the £144.86 was nothing to do with her she wanted €147, she even wrote it on the back of my paperwork. We were by this time getting rather frustrated and upset, so I called Auto Europe and had a very nice gentleman who explained that we did not need to pay this, however, the woman insisted we did, refused to speak to the gentleman from Auto Europe, and just argued - then all of a sudden she said that she had not asked us to pay the €147 and had just been explaining! - Explaining what? This put a dampener on the whole of our holiday, she was so rude, threatening to take all our deposit if there was a scratch on the car, I was so nervous about driving the damn thing, I drive 10-20 year old cars in the UK, but this thing was so modern that I hadn't a clue how to even start it. No handover with explanations of what did what. We eventually found a start button and proceeded to leave the depot. Never again!!!!! "

And it seems I didn't have full cover even though I paid for this with autos Europe. Then given a hybrid petrol and electric car. It was late nearing 11pm - had no help at all with the dashboard which I was not familiar with. Everything in Spanish - surely this could be changed by Niza for a loyal customer who comes year after year for over 40 years. The fuel - this must not have been checked - take full and return full? That's a joke. I didn't use the car this time as our resort was walking distance to everything so only used for getting from and to airport. It's no more than 30/40 miles to elviria and back to airport - had to put 32 euros fuel to fill? On a hybrid car? It cannot have been anywhere near full on pick up. So it cost over 300 euros for the car for a week - niza have gone from strength to strength with the latest cars etc but this is at the expense of customer service and satisfaction. Sadly I'll be trying another provider next time. I said I had my own extra policy cover (which I shouldn't need as this was zero excess but it was a hard sell until I gave in as I was tired wanted to get to bed and just wanted to get out of there and start my holiday. " We've used Niza many times via AutoEurope and they're fine. However, this time when we picked the car up the guy handing over the car got in a strop because I said I didn't want any extras. " Firstly, we were led to believe the shuttle bus would go from outside the airport, but on arrival there was no sign of it. It turns out it's a short walk past the building - not a problem, but there were no signs directing us to the shuttle bus stop. Quite a few passengers were wandering around aimlessly looking for the shuttle bus. Secondly, on arrival at the NIZA garage were subjected to the usual pushy sales of the additional insurance. We had insurance with Autoeurope. We even had paperwork from them saying "you do not need to buy additional cover at the car pick up". But the man at NIZA still insisted that we would be in big trouble if we had an accident. He said that in order to claim from our insurance we'd need a police number, and that the police wouldn't give us a number as they never do apparently. He pushed and pushed but we held firm and didn't pay extra. He then rolled his eyes and basically implied that we'd regret it. I'm sick of this happening every single time I hire a car. If I ever find a company who don't do this, I will stick with them for ever. Clearly that will not be auto Europe. "

" Hi when I collected the vehicle I was offered the choice for a fee to insure the glass and mirrors - I thought it was a wise decision- the car body work had some bumps and scratches and was told not to worry about those- only the glass and mirrors where recommended for additional insurance cover a cost of £70 and a card swipe was taken for £350.04 - as a returnable deposit. When I returned the vehicle with no extra damage I was given to understand everything was in order . On my return to the UK my credit card was refunded £329 - somewhat less then the original card swipe, the email from Niza cars was in Spanish so if there was an explanation I could not understand it - perhaps this is something that you can explain please? " I've used this company for 30 plus years - I go to Malaga perhaps twice a year and book through you - perhaps niza don't like this ? The pick up was efficient although not under cover as the weather was bad and raining - luckily not long till minibus came. My flight was delayed 3 hours due to snow at Leeds bradford and I was sat on a plane with no means if contacting niza - I was told on arrival at the office that in 10 minutes my vehicle would have been cancelled? That was something new to me. But I couldn't have rung anyway plus it takes 10-20 minutes to get from airport to niza - they didn't give me a paper with any marks on the vehicle already for me to acknowledge so they could have said any previous renter damage was down to me - also they blocked about 1200 euros from my card even though I had booked full excess through you. You would think that niza would want to at least acknowledge and look after long standing loyal customers but no. I think all these hire car companies are the same - they're not happy unless they are getting paid for extras like extra insurance to cover damage or extra driver etc etc. Puts you off hiring a car these days. "

" I had two cars during the rental period as follows: 1. First car had identified "damage out" with alloy wheels and tyres at collection but no explanation about the tyre problem. It transpired that one tyre had a puncture and required filling with air each morning as pressure had dropped from 34psi to around 22psi during the day/night. A time consuming search for a petrol station with a working airline Car returned after several days and a replacement provided. The original car should not have been provided - it had a known fault and was unsafe for me, my passenger and potentially for other road users. We had to make a detour to exchange the car wasting time and wasted another hour at Niza Cars whilst the exchange took place. Neither at the time of the exchange nor at the end of the rental did we receive any apology from the counter staff at Niza. 2. Second car fine but when returning it the receiving member of staff complained about it being dirty - we had driven through heavy rain that afternoon. We were told that we should have cleaned it before returning and "to get out of the way" whilst they inspected the car. The receiving member of staff also commented to a colleague in Spanish after reading the system notes (not knowing that my passenger was Spanish) that "I'm going to have trouble with this one". This is not the way to treat customers but most important is that, in the first instance, I was provided with a car not fit for the road. Most unsatisfactory. "

" They advertise a cheap price, but then to get your car they try to upsell you insurance. If you don't do insurance they block EUR 1,500 on your credit card for up to a month. Also, they are insane about damage to the car. I am a responsible person, so I would do everything I can to protect the vehicle but they are crazy. They told me if there is even the tiniest scratch they automatically will take a minimum of EUR 300. Are you kidding me!? If it buffs out or only costs EUR 25 to fix, why charge me EUR 300? (They obviously told me this while trying to up sell me the insurance). I thought they were joking but when I checked out the car they indicated there were already two damaged areas and showed me on a diagram on my contract where the damage was. When I went to the car to look, I couldn't find the damage. I had to call the employee over and he pointed out the tiniest of scratches. I asked him if he charged EUR 300 to the person that returned the car with those scratches and he said he did. They were tiny door dings! They buff out! Can't believe it. Charge the appropriate rate. Don't advertise a cheap price only to turn around and try to get customers to buy an insurance package out of fear. It's bad business. Defiantly will not be using Niaz ever again and will advise friends to avoid. "

This time I was told that their terms and conditions had changed and that they would take the 1600 euros deposit from my credit card and hold it for 45 days before returning it or I could pay 126 euros for their insurance. I am not sure if it is legal to hold the money once the car is returned but as I did not want them to have the money I decided to pay the 126 euros. I felt that I was being held to ransom by Niza and will not use them again. I have read similar reviews on Nizas web site so I assume it is common practice. "

My husband stepped in and asked him to not be so aggressive and rude. I said I would telephone AE. i did ,the AE agent spoke with her but then said to me that she would not listen. She made us pay for second driver which I did not need. On return I parked the car up ,same girl moved it outside the building and came back to say she had found a miniscule stonechip that was not there previously -this should be 180euros but she would settle at 90! She had succeeded in getting the 102 euros. I require a refund to cover the additoal driver 30 euro ,the 90 euro damage excess and the cost of a lengthy 0800 call to AE .i would strongly suggest that AE end the relationship with NIZA . "

Told that with no insurance I Must return car an hour early to be washed and inspected. On return they were very unfriendly, and drove the car off to be washed. I followed and took photos. They went over it in minute detail and finally pointed out a tiny rub Mark on the bumper, saying it was damaged and would be charged for. I rubbed the mark away with my finger and took photos. Big argument followed with manager. They flatly refused to sign out their own document to verify the car was undamaged even though he admitted it was OK. So far no charges. "

I replied I have CDw and my own excess insurance. He said that was insufficient the car was not covered for theft breakdown or damage to the bodywork. " Every time you hire a car from them they seem to find another way to stuff you up! This time, even though i had opted for the 'Full / Full' fuel option they still took another 60 deposit on top of the 600 they already had as a deposit! luckily though it was only a pre-authorisation so we weren't affected by the exchange rate, being UK residents. Brand new cars in March very nice, but they were dying to find something wrong, but to no avail! Transfers worked very well, will use them again. "

" Have been a regular user of Niza for many years but will now look at alternatives. On arrival you are now confronted with several complicated insurance options which they are trying to sell. They are not easy to understand, and are costly. It appears this can add over 30 euro PER DAY for full cover and if you decline they require over 900 as a deposit (refundable). I have an annual hire care insurance policy so don't need their cover. On return of the car there is now a tedious delay on getting the vehicle put through a car wash and re-inspected. These new procedures add a good 40 minutes and are a hassle one could do without on the return. Will now look at other companies to see if they are now all doing the same. "

" Niza cars demanded 78 euros for excess insurance although we had our own policy covering all aspects. When we declined we were told we had to leave our credit card details and a deposit of 600 euros, which we did. I thought this type of bullying had disappeared some years ago. We travel to Europe around 6 times a year and usually have car hire with no problems like this anymore, so it was very annoying. On returning the car we were assured that all details would be cancelled from our credit card. The car supplied was covered with dents, bumps,scratches all over anyway which we made sure was noted. " The rental was fine but the taking of a deposit ended up costing nearly as much as the rental in credit card charges and exchange rate variations. If the alternative of holding a voucher but not cashing it unless there is a problem had been used I would not have had to pay about £50 extra. Maybe this could be considered because the car rental company made not one euro from this-only the bank benefitted. "
