" Upon car hire arrival, I was made aware the car I had booked did not align with the car I was being offered. I then telephoned Auto Europe. I informed Auto Europe I has booked a station wagon (estate) and my e-mail shows an estate car and that I had used the website filter to only view and book an estate car. The lady from Auto Europe agreed my email shows an estate, but my booking shows 'economy'. I was told the only way I could have an estate was to cancel my booking and create a new one, which would cost me much more! I ended up having to accept having to use a small four door saloon which created luggage capacity issues and detracted from our holiday experience. Lastly, please listen to the recording of my phone call, as you should hear the woman from Auto Europe sigh at the beginning of the call, giving the impression she had no interest in taking a call form a customer! "

I queried this on return and he said it was administration charge. i call it a rip off and I don't think that is acceptable. We were traveling with 2 children and would have liked an immediate pick up as other companies offer, rather than waiting over 30 minutes to be collected from the airport. " I've had two experiences of Auto-Europe this year. The first hiring a car at Turin airport was excellent 10/10. The second hiring at Bucharest airport via Payless was poor 2/10 where the car supplied was less than the specified one, had over 80,000km on the clock and in very poor condition. "

We booked a Skoda Octavia estate equivalent but all they had was an Opel Astra estate which had done 80,000km,had lots of damage and a 350mm crack across the windscreen. When returning the car to Sibiu airport the Payless rep took ages waiting for the Bucharest office to send photos of the condition of the car on collection to assess any damage. " Your booking terms etc and the voucher made no reference to the MAGRENTA demand that we pay €10 to clean the car, or take it back having cleaned it ourselves. That requirement and the suspicious way the handover was conducted was worrying but as experienced car hirers we felt it would be OK. The problem is that they have confiscated our deposit (approx. £1350) without any reason. We are disgusted that this company is on your rental list. At the same time as we were checking out another customer was similarly being fleeced for a tiny scratch. " On arrival I have been told that the car I have reserved isn't available therefore they will upgrade the car and I have to pay for it I said that I don't want to pay the upgrade should be free of charge as the reserved car is not available.Staff replied if I am not paying the additional fee I can wait till next day morning when the car will be available.They said that the computer system will not allow them to release the car without the additional payments.I had to pay additional 50£ . Disappointed of the service. "

" I have paid for a higher vechicle class (Intermediate) but received an Economy class. Also, I was charged a late night fee 20 EUR at the counter for which they could not give an invoice. I would have cancelled and go to another vendor but it was 1am and no other car hiring companies were open. "

" Car was in a bad shape. Bluetooth non functioning, high beams non functioning, banged up 360 degrees. Worst - had to wait over 30 mins for drop off while the rude employee kept telling us over the phone: "another 5 mins", "another 5 mins"... Etc.. "
