" It was dark on my arrival after a very long flight and obviously keen to get on my way to my final destination. Took some time to work out how the mechanics of the car worked...never easy when it is dark. Only realised once I got going that the tank was NOT full and only 3/4 full but too late to do anything about it once I had left. In the daylight the car wasn't very clean... empty pop bottle found under driver's seat and just generally not clean in the interior. The boot stopped opening after a few days which wasn't great but not worth the inconvenience of reporting. On drop off I had to ask for the car to be checked otherwise the single female employee who was obviously in a rush to deal with several customers just wanted to take the keys and said providing everything was in order I would get my deposit back. "

This delay cause issues for our family as we needed to be at a wedding venue which was 1.5 hours away and unfortunately as a result of the car not being at Perth airport to collect around 10 am and us not being collected by the shuttle until nearer midday we were late!! Not at all what I would have expected from your complany. We have since had an email from your company to say there was a set of keys found in the vehicle upon return and asked for us to call the office. At this point we were in Thailand and replied explaining that we were not able to call but asked if a photo of the keys could be sent to us, that was nearly 2 weeks ago now and we still have not had a reply! " I am writing in the hope that you will change your procedures to advise customers, before they book, exactly how the rule 'Cars are not permitted on unpaved roads' (in your T&Cs) could adversely affect the enjoyment of their holiday. In WA access to most National Parks is via unpaved roads so I could not enter them. As soon as I realised this, I was so far away from a Hertz office that I couldn't change the car. Fitzgerald River, Mount Roe, D'Entrecasteaux and Cape Arid National Parks were some of those where I went 100km or more out of my way just to gain partial access. Neither I nor my wife were happy holidaymakers. Please don't let others suffer in this way – tell them they need a 4x4 if they are going to enjoy their holiday properly – and explain 'unpaved roads' to them in detail! "

" Overall impressed with Autoeurope booking and communication e mails. The data capture by Europcar when collecting the car was a bit painful / slow. I realise that there are 2 companies involved but it wasn't as seamless operation as perhaps I was expecting. "
" There was a few people waiting in the queue to collect their cars. A couple of people were told that the car wasn't quite ready - perhaps a 15 minute wait. Our car was ready and waiting. The process of capturing my details took about 5 minutes. I said that I had provided a lot of detail to Autoeurope when I booked on line. They said they had to re - enter the details due to data protection. The biggest issue was that they tried to sell me more insurance to reduce the excess to zero. I said that I already had taken out more than the standard insurance. It was difficult to know what to do in this situation as I had booked the car a month before collection so my recollection of the exact insurance I had purchased wasn't ready to hand on the Autoeurope paperwork. " An absolute disgrace that cars are being booked and paid in advance by customers but when customers arrive to collect the car, they are told there are none available and are then given a car from a lesser category all because Europcar have overbooked the cars. Surely when the customer is asked specifically when they will be arriving to collect the car, that car should be available for them? So disappointed, I would never recommend using AutoEurope or Europcar again. "
" Arrived at Perth airport to be told that the car I had booked and paid for was not available as they had overbooked this type of car. I ended up having to take a smaller model as this was the only type of car they had available. I asked the counter staff to inform me when the intermediate car would became available & was told Xmas day. So I had to give up 2 hours of my Xmas evening to head back to the airport to collect the car I should have received from day 1. Absolutely disgraceful that this even occurred especially when the car was paid for up front. I am still waiting on refund for the days where I was running round in a small car rather than an intermediate. "

When I opened the door it smelt of smoke my son has asthma so not a good start the was then no one at the check out to discus this luckily were we were staying had a garage so we aired the car every night. The on site staff weren't made aware of this until the last minute but it would have been a good idea to at least email people that were picking up cars and dropping cars off to let them know and maybe advise dropping it off at another branch. " When I took out the insurance with Auto Europe I did so on the basis that there was an additional insurance policy covering me against any excesses. This was not clearly stated in any documentation that I received from Auto Europe leadinmg me to wonder if I was covered or not. Fortunately I did not get involved in any Auto accidents therefore the situation never arose. Black mark for Auto Europe I'm afraid. "

For example, when you travel to Florida, you hire a car and are sent to a section that covers the type of car you have hired where you can choose one from maybe ten to fifteen pool cars. "
