" The only thing I would change is to be much much clear about the fuel policy. We had to go and fill up the car as it was a tiny bit under full and they were going to charge us for a whole tank. I remember the person trying to explain it to us when we collected the car but it wasn't clear enough. "

" All in all my experience with Sixt so far has been quite horrendous. During my lease, my vehicle was driven into in a carpark and scratches were incurred on the rear passenger door panel. Due to the level of cover I selected, I was aware that the damages would be taken out of my deposit. I was assured by the members of staff at Sixt Split airport that the amount would not be too expensive due to superfical nature of the damage, and it also was not my fault. You can therefore imagine my shock upon returning home and finding a value in excess of £800 had been withdrawn from my account! For the last week I have been attempting to contact Split damage and general teams for some clarity of how that value was arrived upon, to no response. "

" We chose Auto Europe as we'd used them on a number of previous holidays and they've always been fairly trustworthy and reliable, this experience has left a bad mark unfortunately "
" After arriving 1 hour 40 minutes later than our booking time, because we were stuck on the runway for an hour in the UK, sixt said they had released our car. Even though they had full payment, they refused to refund our payment or offer another car at the same price, instead insisting the only option was a BMW @ an additional £240. On returning the car they tried to say a dent in the bumper was not recorded on their system, even though when renting the car it was noted on the system, fortunately we had taken photos of the scrapes and bumps. As soon as we said we had photos they remarkably found the note of the dent. When we made the booking we chose Sixt because it had the highest rating. We also chose the addition insurance option from Auto Europe, but Sixt said they didn't recognise this insurance as it was for the original car and not the more expensive one. When we argued with Sixt about all of these issues, they refused to acknowledge any responsibility and referred us back to Auto Europe as we booked though them. Given that we booked in good faith with the highest recommend car rental company in Dubrovnik and took the most expensive insurance I genuinely cannot see what more we could have done to avoid this all too common situation when renting abroad. Overall a very frustrating and difficult start, and end, to our holiday. "

This was explained however unlikely to use full tank in short rental and was a hard sell from collection desk Drop off is a 5 minute walk outside from terminal. Given it's 36c wasn't pleasant and not sign posted. "
