The car was well used and nearly every panel had a big scratch on the paintwork. We declined and found it only took 53 Euros to fill it anyway from empty. "

" The boot lock on our first car failed after a few days, so the boot remained open at all times. As the car was driveable, Sixt wouldn't come out to replace it, we had to return to Paphos Airport to exchange, which took 3 hours out of our day. Bear in mind the car had 64,000km on it, so the failure wasn't anything to do with our rental, it was just unfortunate timing, so that was a little annoying. Having said that, they exchanged it straight away and the second car was fine other than the Information light was on from about 20 minutes into the journey on the day we collected it and apparently was a warning for a low battery in the key fob, which showed on the dash. We really should have been told about this and reassured there was plenty of battery life left - or the battery replaced after the previous rental as this must have been predictable? "

Also i always take out the full insurance for peace of mind, but for some reason, wheels and windscreen were exluded, unless i wanted to pay even more to add these - this is riduculous - to break down and add each element at extra cost - when it used to all be included- i dont know if this is just Sixt, but again, i wont be using again based on this. I was also offered another option to pay a little more to bring the car back on empty as overall the cost is 'cheaper' than me filling the tank up! - Everything led to me not trusting Sixt, and that everything offered was a way to make more money. " Sixt counter staff on arrival wanted us to upgrade to get bigger car, satnav and rear parking sensors (but in fact car size was fine for 2 people with 2 small cases, it has satnav if you plug in your phone, and it had rear parking sensors too!). He also wanted us to buy extra cover, explaining that although we had bought the full extra damage cover with Auto Europe, we would be still liable for damage when returning the vehicle and have to pay out Sixt immediately up to 800 Euro and then risk having to claim it back separately with Auto Europe, as it was 2 different organisations... Lastly he wanted us to return the car empty saying it would be cheaper as we would use a full tank over 2 weeks (in fact it is really hard to drive a car back empty!) It was all rather unpleasant as we thought we had agreed everything in advance and were tired having just got off a long flight, and had to go through all the options afresh. I know they have to warn us of certain things, but it all seemed a bit threatening, such as being told we were not covered the moment we drove off tarmac. Quite a lot to think about. In the end we stuck with what we had agreed. The car was quite scratched and broken in parts. Overall not great. We were told all okay when returned the car but the Sixt Cyprus email then showed us photos of scratches (which I don't think were ours) without saying if we were liable for them or not... it would have been much better just to say "thanks all good and you'll get your security deposit back" (which I hope we will do). "

" We have used Sixt before via Auto Europe with no problems. However, on this occasion we have had cause to dispute with Sixt a charge made to our credit card of £26.21 which is allegedly because the vehicle was not returned with a brim-full tank. The vehicle was filled up before returning to Sixt and the Sixt employee who received the car back from us accepted that the tank was full. The additional sum charged without any contact with us was almost half of the cost of fuel we put into the tank before delivering it back to Sixt. If that value of fuel was required to fill the tank it would have been obvious from the fuel gauge that the tank was not full, but this was not the case, the tank was acknowledged as full by Sixt. Further the payment was taken a full 6 days after we returned the vehicle and we have no knowledge of whether it was driven or not during those 6 days. We have sent Sixt a copy of the fuel receipt from the Esso filling station at Pissouri and raised the matter as a dispute with them. "

" Booking through Auto Europe was straightforward and easy to manage. In this instance, it was Sixt that caused the problems for us - not Aito Europe who we would use again "
" On collection, the car had minor damage which we recorded via photos and videos. The staff member also took photos and made a note of them. He promised to send the condition report and photographs via email. The email arrived with the condition report containing no mention of the damage. Nor did they send photos. When returning the vehicle, the damage was picked up by the member of staff at Sixt. We explained what had happened and, thankfully we're able to prove our point with the photos and video we took on collection. The staff member told us he would make a note of the poor service and the held funds from my credit card would be released. €800. Hopefully this will be the case. The car itself was clean but lacked power. It struggled on slight inclines and hills. This is the first bad experience we have had of car hire in Cyprus in 25 years of holidaying there. It is not one I would wish to repeat. A word of caution to anyone hiring from Sixt is to make sure you have plenty of verifiable evidence of the condition of the vehicle before you drive away. "

As I was about to sign the documents I innocently asked if the vehicle would accept an Isofix child seat which I own. The clerk phoned his colleague in the car park to make sure it had Isofix which was confirmed. The clerk then said that it would be an additional €48 for an upgrade to Isofix. I realized that a scam was about to start so refused the apparent upgrade and insisted on the original car group. At this point the clerk said ok he would drop the upgrade price to €32 It was quite obvious that he hadn't done anything to upgrade the deal because I was getting that car anyway from when he initially printed out the paperwork. When I got angry with him his colleague said something to him in Greek and he backed down. I have used Sixt Cyprus many times over the past 12 or so years and been very happy but this type of behavior by a shameful sharp operator is unacceptable. I wonder how often they succeed in this kind of behavior and how much they add to their monthly bonus "

" Terrible. On arrival for our holiday in Cyprus the counter staff was unhelpful and quite impolite. Whilst I had made an error in not having my bank credit card number, no effort was made to help me. I asked if I could use her phone but this was not possible. I went to buy a sim card for my mobile but this did not work. A stressful situation was increased by her unhelpfulness. I offered to pay on my debit card. I offered to give her all the information from my credit card but none of this was acceptable. I had the funds but the way forward was to pay a double insurance on my debit card. All this took over 30 mins and the member of staff made me feel incompetent, a fraud and unwelcome. The whole experience has put me off wanting to visit the island again. Certainly a terrible introduction to Cyprus. The car itself had various scrapes and dents. It had 69 kilometres on the clock and quite an old car. For the price it was a disappointment. The back parcel shelf did not close automatically with the boot lid. "

" Everything went well until I was shown my hire car. It had a huge dent in the front nearside steel wheel rim. I pointed this out to staff member who told me it was fine. I questioned this as it appeared to me that there was no way the tyre could seal onto the wheel properly. He assured me it would be fine. I accepted the car reluctantly after checking there was a spare wheel in the boot. I drove away from the airport and immediately noticed the steering pulled severely to the left then after about 2km the tyre pressure warning light came on the dashboard with the words tyre deflating! I turned around and took the car back told the same staff member I wasn't prepared to drive it as it was clearly unsafe and he shouldn't have allowed it out in the first place, having clearly had a large recent impact on the front wheel. I was then given an alternative car which turned out to be very old but at least seemed road worthy. "

The man suggested upgrading to a golf for a small increase, he gave it the hard sell on the counter, decided to go with his decision since I drive a golf (13 years old) at home and thought would be nice to drive a newer hire one. I was expecting a newish (within 3-4 years old) car, the car I was given was about 7 years old, seemed to be quite low spec..... not even a usb socket in the car...... was expecting something a little better to be honest "

" Hi firstly, there was a communication problem. To get the full insurance when I booked on line was £60. It ended up to be 143euro. It was 0030 and i was tired. The kia was awful, absolute rubbish, I did ask for a Ford Fiesta. There were receipts from two years ago in the car! It was under powered, and this time of year with the aircon on, Well you do the maths. We are coming over from England three times a year at the moment, and will need a car each time ! Unfortunately it didn't happen this time for you. So a summary of it all, is, payed more for the car that I expected to, was not cleaned properly, was under powered, and a lack of communication at the desk. One gripe being the officious staff member who suggested that we were likely to get a a 100 Euro fine for a bit of sand/crumbs in the foot well. We asked whether we would or wouldn't (he wouldn't confirm) so we spent 20 minutes scraping out the car of every last speck of dust, effectively doing the job that their hoover would have done in a minute. After going through the ignominy of this we went back to him, he took a look and said it was now fine. Completely pointless exercise and left a sour taste in the mouth. "

I was charged Euro 66 and having only driving 100km, feel I have been duped. " Our initial contact with counter assistant was very good. Ioanna was extremely helpful and courteous - a delight to deal with. Subsequently, the car we were given was different to the one booked. This would not have been a problem had the front seats been of a decent standard. The seats were low and completely out of alignment. This affected the postion of the headrests which pushed against the head of both driver and passenger, forcing the sitting position of the body totally out of 'normal' alignment. We pointed this out to the man at the time but he told us that was 'how it was'. In order to raise the driver's seat to a position where we could see clearly through the windscreen, we had to make a cushion with clothes taken out of the suitcase. This was the situation for the duration of our stay. As a consequence of the discomfort and concerned thaat we would incur a neck injury, we made fewer trips than we had planned. This was extremely disappointing and spoilt our holiday. "

" Firstly, I did not notice this booking was a pick up full / return empty fuel policy, which I wasn't happy with this when I picked up the car. The car originally offered by Sixth at the airport was a VW Golf which was around 3 years old, when asked if there were any newer cars available I was offered a Kia Stonic, which we agreed to pay an extra 100 euros, when I returned to complete the paperwork I was told that it would also be an extra 19 euros for fuel on top of the 78.54 euros already paid, both cars take 50 litres? Total paid 97.54 euros. Average cost of fuel in Cyprus is 1.23/litre x 50 litres = 61.50 euros for a full tank. Why is there such a big difference in cost ? Why the extra charge of 19 euros if both cars only take 50 litres? Fuel policy should be pick up full / return full. I returned with around a quarter of a tank fuel left. I'm not happy paying so much for fuel on pick up. When I returned the car I did try and complain in the office, but they were too busy and I had to catch my flight. Also, when I returned to England, I checked the difference in cost for both these cars and it was only around £30 - therefore - why the extra 100 euro charge? "

" Auto Europe booking experience was good. Following the disappointment with the staff at Sixt, my only suggestion would be to clearly mark the additional extras (i.e. additional driver) on the front page so that they would be clearly visible to counter staff. "
" The person who dealt with our booking at the airport (Giannis) was very rude and did not care what we had to say about the booking at all. We've printed the rental voucher for our booking which we've presented at the rental desk, I've asked to add the details of the first additional driver to the system, however, Giannis has refused pointing at the first page (1 of 3) of the voucher saying that "Look, there's no additional driver on this booking". Being tired after a delayed flight I've looked at the first page and there was indeed no mention of an additional driver for that booking. I was not happy about it since at the time of booking it clearly stated that the first additional driver is included at no additional cost. As it happens, few days later I've read the entire rental voucher and surprise surprise, on the second page (2 of 3) it stated "* Additional Drivers: EUR 3.50, per day, VAT included, paid locally. First additional driver is included in rates.". So our holiday was partially ruined due to incompetence of the person at the rental desk - we've had to cancel a trip on all inclusive day cruise since I was the only person on the rental agreement and therefor was not able to attend the "all-drinks-included" cruise experience. On top of that, Giannis, was adamant that my third party excess insurance was not going to cover me in the event of any damage etc. (which it definitely did) and in his words "You WILL pay your own money, that is up to you" (will I now?) and countless persuasions to buy their own excess insurance, which I refused to do. Car pick-up was relatively okay. From bad personal experience I made sure to inspect the car properly before signing the papers. The car had some scratches on it that I pointed out, but the person handling the handover told me they were "small" and therefor did not mark them on the sheet. To me "small" is such a subjective term and something that appears "small" to one person might not be classed as "small" to the other person. A week later we've returned the car to the airport, the guys were happy with the condition of the car and we were back on our way to UK. "

" Unfortunately my experience was very unsatisfactory. I hired 2 cars for my trip, one in my name (UK4636777) and the other in my wife's name (UK4695400-1) as we were a party of 6. I was extremely unhappy at being charged £101.18 as I had inadvertently left my credit card at home, albeit my wife had hers and it was a joint account. I was told that this was not satisfactory and that I needed to produce my own credit card. My wife was the main driver of one vehicle and the secondary driver on my vehicle. The lady on the counter was not at all helpful even when I explained it was the same name and same bank account. I thought this was terrible customer service and am unlikely to recommend Sixt or indeed use you again. "

" I booked a decent (brand) large vehicle, VW Touran, rather than the millions of bad example 7 seater's shown as example cars (available) on your site (like the Nissan NV200 or Serena or Opel Zafira) . They were also examples/choices when i made teh booking. On collection they only had the Nissan people carrier and there were no VW Touran's in their car park. I had to then pay a huge amount more (over €200 more) to pay for a VW Tiguan, even though on site (when i made teh booking) I considered that car, it was LESS than the Touran I booked and I felt too small for use. No amount of explaining helped and I had 1 choice to make - stick with the crap BNissan or pay nearly more than double for a car I could have paid less for than the original booking! Very poor customer service (from Sixt) and commercial common sense. Whilst that was Sixt, you are representative of teh service they perform. I travel a lot, do a lot of business related holidays and that is my worst experience. I used Sixt last in October in Tenerife and it was was seemless and as promised. Appreciate the car shown is always an example, but there were none around, let alone available and the offering of the Nissan was awful. I'd look like a 7 seater cabbie! "

When such cars are offered, I really think you should highlight when there is no air conditioning - just including four letters - no ac - was not sufficient on a document with so much information. In such a hot climate it is inappropriate even to suggest such a car. We were fortunate that the company had another car for us to upgrade to but the upgrade cost more than the original hire charge "

" To be clear the counter staff - 1 gentleman - coped extremely well as he was left on his own to cater for all the queuing customers. It reflected badly on Sixt that there was over an hour wait in a queue for customers to pick up theirs vehicles. Not good when we all endured many hours flying and there were disabled customers in front of us. To add a further note, the other hire companies had more than 1 rep at their desk. "

" However I was very dissatisfied with the vehicle offered. I Ordered a small C1 or similar and was told I had been given an ugrade. I was given a skoda Fabia, it must have been 5/6 years old. There were so many scratches , dents, paint peeling off the window surrounds,. Upholstery dirtty in side, Some morning very difficult to start, mileage 42853 reg zktk 845 color described as beige, it was mnore metallic grey.... so overall the car not impressed with the age or image of sixt. The receptionist in Larnaca was not that frindly or welcoming, not clear withi instruction how to get to car bay. "
" I rent a car and after I realized that in Cyprus they are driving from the right side i thought that this would be difficult for me and i send an email to the customer service in order to change my manual car with an automatic one. They replied me at the next day, saying that this was possible, when i have already taken the manual transmission car. Although i asked at the airport if they had an automatic car to pay the difference there and get it they told me that there wasn't available an automatic car. Moreover I wasn't aware that airport had an extra fee of 20 . Last but not least in the site there wasn't full coverage insurance and they asked me 500 in the airport or else i had to pay 8,5/per day for full insurance and this i did. "
" I was very satisfied from Sixt Customer Service because the employee at the airport was trying to help me in order not to pay a lot of money and also was protecting her company by making me full insurance coverage. The only thing that i don't know is when they are going to refund me the 45 as I returned my rental car full of fuel. "

" Easy to find counter inside the terminal, no queue so dealt with speedily. Handed keys and then had to find the stand in the car park and the next rep. Unfortunately the lift was not working so had to go up escalator with a case.(not Sixt fault). Pointed out a few extra scratches dents that were not obviously marked on the plan of the car. Given maps and directions out of the airport. Return of the vehicle was very straight forward only took 2 mins "
" 1. Car pick up was not in the location as per booking. So, not good in this resect. 2. Deposit for fuel has to be paid. Even though I hd to return with a full tank! This was not made clear at time of booking. Not good again. 3. Extra insurance taken at time of booking was not honoured by the car hire company (SIXT). I would have had to pay for any damage then claim back from the Auto Europe policy I bought on booking. Again. This was not made clear at time of booking. So three counts of not good hence I am overall dissatifoed with the service as a result. "
" 1. I still had to pay a deposit for the fuel even though I had to return the car with a full tank. 2. They did not honour the insurance I had taken our with AE. 3. The fuel indicator was a digital one. It said full when I put the keys into the ignition on the forecourt of SiXT, but I got 500m down the road and the indicator showed one bar less than a full tank straight away! This meant that they had pocketed one eighth of a full tank without doing anything - I was not impressed at all. "
" Everything ok except sixt did not turn up at hotel with car. I had to get reception to look up a number of the city office and phone them. They said we were supposed to go there but it was clear that we were to meet at reception. They came for us and took us down. We needed to have a phone number for sixt but didn't. "
