" I had known there was damage to the car, I would have taken my own photos for record. Where I picked up the car was dimly lit and the damage was not evident. I check the obvious damage on the allows, which were and remained defect free. The damage claimed is against scratches to the bumper in the loading area to the boot. I loaded my small suitcase (10.6 kgs) into the boot horizontally due to low level of parcel shelf. At no time did I unload the case vertically, which would have been alinged to marks identified by the returning receiving person. I mention that I had not damage the areas marked and he advised that I would not have to pay for the damage. He proceeded to mark 2 lines perpendicular to the bumper on the top face of the bumper "

Yesterday, I received an invoice from Sixt indicating that the car had been returned after 21:00, much later than the actual time of around 14:30 (our flight departed from Munich airport at 16:25). I suspect the car may have been taken out from where we parked it and returned later - only CCTV can confirm this. This issue has not been resolved and explains the mixed feedback re. the car rental. Nothing to do with Auto Europe, of course. "

" First thing the staff from sixt told me was I don't have a full insurance and I should get one. Replying that from what I know, my booking includes everything, he said he can't see anything in the system and insisted I need the full insurance for tyres, windows and something else...for 29€/day. The good news was I was supposed tonget un upgrade to X3 because the Evoque wasn't available anyway. I agreed and went to get the car. In the car I found my booking with autoeurope and came back to Sixt. Tried to talk with the same guy and showed him my insurance. He replied I didn't show him that and I asked for the extra insurance. I got pissed...already spending almost 1h of my holiday in there. He asked me to wait because there was another customer waiting. Waited for 5 min and he left on his break. I asked for the manager... A nice guy who decided I will get back the extra payment plus the deposit; and I kept the X3 which was great. "

" Very efficient, easy booking process and receiving of documentation. Not the usual service from the rental company you use. It felt like voucher holders were not as important as the other sixt customers. "
" We had a 2 hour wait in line and it was A 3 hour + wait for a vehicle to become available. Voucher holders have to join a different queue. The delay meant we missed our slot to pick up our ski equipment and lost half a day skiing the following day picking it up. Our accommodation is on the mountain so we could have been straight out skiing. Sixt said they would e-mail me with hire details and from that I could escalate the issue with their manager, they never made contact. There was a rotten orange under the drivers seat and the sat nav was out of date. "

" The check in experience at SIXT Munich was dreadful. We walked to the main counted, waited 15 minutes to then be told that the main counter was only for SIXT Gold members. We were then sent to the other "voucher" counter, and had to queue for another 45 minutes. The 45 minutes was not due to the long queue in front of us (only 3-4 customers ahead of us), but for some reason a super inefficient process. (In the meantime the main SIXT counter people were twiddling their thumbs as they were very well staffed with not much to do. Having to wait around twice, with 3 young children in tow, is unacceptable. "

He was quick to remedy the mistake and gave me an upgrade as compensation. " Long wait at pick up. Counter staff tried to get me to pay extra to upgrade to a car with winter tyres even though I had advised travel to Austria on booking and Sixt had accepted this. Picked up car 14/4 in Germany and winter tyres only compulsory in Austria until 15/4. Also tried to get me to pay for upgrade to bigger car. When I refused they gave me this car anyway as there was no car with winter tyres in the class I has booked! I didn't pay extra but I had to be very firm. The queue would be shorter if they focused on customer service rather than upselling. "

" The first car that I was offered was not what I was expecting. Sixt offered me an automatic BMW X2 and not a manual Mercedes GLA. Sixt claimed that it was the same class, but the boot was too small. worse still it had lots of scratches that were not marked on the hire docket. I asked Sixt for a different car, eventually they came up with a BMW X1, which had a slightly larger boot. The marks on the car were correct in the hire docket. It took almost 2 hours to sort out the issue because I had to requeue (at the end of the queue) at the desk 3 times to sort out the problem. There was not a separate or expediated customer service for people with issues with the car they had just been given. "

" Our flight was delayed from the UK. We landed at 10.40pm local time. SIXT clearly could see flight had landed. Passport control was very busy and I entered arrivals hall at 11.04pm. No-one on SIXT desk - rep had just gone home refusing to wait a few minutes past 11pm closing time for me to come through. Luckily another car hire desk was open and I had to pay for another car. On returning to airport I spoke to SIXT desk to complain that they did not wait and ask for details on how to get a refund. The employee was defensive and very unhelpful and also lied about what time he left his post. I have telephone call logs to prove when I tried to call to speak to them. Very very poor service. NEVER AGAIN "
