" I was charged a random, unjustified and exorbitant one-way rental fee when returning to Zurich instead of Amsterdam. I was in touch with the desk rep who was friendly but had no authority. Several emails to customer service were unanswered. I was told 3 different figures for one way fee and in the end was charged a ridiculous and exorbitant fee. It was charged to my Amex card without permission, which is outrageous. I think Sixt are a terrible rental firm who make no effort with their customers. I will never use them again "

" One thing that wasn't clear was the level of insurance excess. Their standard was a scary €950, which did make me buy a bit more... When I used to rent more regularly I had an annual waiver policy which was good for piece of mind and w-a-a-a-y cheaper than individual top ups with hire cos. Not likely to be hiring anything like as regularly now so was a little shocked at the lack of cover an excess of that size provides. Otherewise, absolutely fine. "

It would have been a nice customer service touch. But we only had the cheapest car, so maybe that was why. "

" The lady on the counter charged me for extra full day because I came few hours earlier and I was not on rush to take the car, I could stay for until the time due. Also she wanted to charge me for excess waiver insurance although I have paid it to AutoEurope, but she said the insurance I paid does not cover Sixt, I refused to pay and told her I will take the risk. " Very simple and speedy service. The car we booked was not the same we got. This was no problem however as the 'stand in' was adequate. The only and very stressful problem was finding the drop off at the airport . It was poorly signposted up until the multistorey car park gate. Give that i am not the only one with this problem I think this needs to be addressed urgently as this affects not only Sixt customers. I needed 3 attempts with sat nav to find the correct entrance and nearly had a car crash! "

" We were unexpectedly charged extra for winter tyres. As part of the booking we made it clear that we would be traveling to Germany and so would require winter as part of the booking, this is why we collected from the airport location and paid extra for the large class. We were accepted and charged. Autoeurope were not able to help. Rentalcars/enterprise directly from now on "
