" SurPrice was charging a high security deposit which exceeded the available funds on my visa. They made it clear that if I didn't take out their 500euro insurance, they would classify me as a no show and that AutoEurope would automatically charge me again for another rental. When I rang customer service at AutoEurope, the woman I spoke with was horrible. Very condescending and didn't care at all or even pretend to try and help. It was an awful experience and I lost the full payment made. Leaving reviews on social media about SurPrice and AutoEurope to warn other consumers. "

" The additional insurance was completely mis-sold and I was not made aware that auto Europe was just the broker until the booking voucher was received but by then I was unable to do anything about it as it was already booked "
" I paid for extra insurance with my booking but when I picked up the car I was told that as this was with the broker I had to either buy additional insurance through SurPrice or leave a deposit of £1,800 on my credit card. The whole point of me paying for the additional insurance when booking the car was so I wouldn't have to do this. I was completely unaware that I had booked through a broker! SurPrice check in lady was very rude and just kept saying I would have to take up issues with my broker. When I asked how I do this her response was 'I don't know'. VERY UNHELPFUL!!!! Therefore the additional insurance was very deceiving. She also asked if I wanted to buy the tolls machine to save money, so I did only to later find out that the tolls have been decommissioned so again this was mis-sold. Upon return of the car the man was looking for any little scratch to charge me for but luckily I had taken photos so could evidence these already existed when I picked the car up. "

" returning the vehicle the staff wandered around but knew where to look. A scuff on the underside which I hadnt photographed (so low) and of course their photograph didnt show either. Couldnt be proved either way, but ended up with €170 credit card payment. Obviously they asked if I had insurance as they couldnt claim again for same scuff. Looking at other reviews this seems to be standard practice. The car was driven along main roads, parked on my drive overnight and in carparks when used. So no where near a kerb and hence not fault. " When we dropped off the vehicle, an ispection was carried out, as was expected. However, we were advised of 'damage to the underneath' of the rear bumper. This was a suprise to us. The damage, scrape marks, could only be seen by kneeling on the floor and looking underneath. Photographs were produced of the car when we collected it (it was not in a good condition, dents, scratches a plenty) but the only picture of the rear of the car was taken from about 4 feet away and didn't show the under part of the bumper. This was pointed out to the representative who was inspecting and eventually he stated 'all is in order with no new damage'. This delay meant we missed the only shuttle to the airport and we had to wait 35 minutes for the next which put us in danger of being late for the flight - we hadn't factored in being at the car hire return 45 minutes plus the trip to the airport! "

" As described above not a very good experience at all. Just thankful that we did not get stopped by the local Police as the rear tyres were worn. Taking our own video of the vehicle on collection and drop off was a must just to prove that the dents, scratches and scrapes were existing and nothing we had done. "
" Very disappointed with our car hire experience, the car had so many scrapes, dents and scratches we had to take a full video of the car and identify all of this to the employee before we drove off. What made it worse to notice is that the car had not been washed or cleaned on the outside, inside was not immaculate either but ok. After just 10 minutes driving the low level water for the engine not the window washers came on so we had to stop and top up this in case the engine overheated. Over the next few days we then noticed that the rear tyres were on the edge of being illegal due to wear. We have the photographs to prove this. "

" Surprice is good on a budget. The pick up process is slow taking about 30min despite filling out the online checking with the provided QR code in the shuttle on the way to the hire office. The car was clean and ran ok during the hire period. There was some damage to the car from a previous hire that was yet to be repaired and the slightly affected the steering. Staff did not communicate with each other that we were ready for the shuttle despite telling us it was ready. It was unclear who would be providing the shuttle to the airport to approach to escalate the issue. "
