" Fairly dissapointed with car rental companies in Guadeloupe. They seem to try to exploit the clients more than in other places I have rented a car. I don't understand why car rental would be so much more expensive than in other places in France "
" The car was very weak and it was often difficult to drive in steep ascents of the island (very common in Guadeloupe). In some areas I had to use first gear for a while and I was worried that I would not make it. Another dissapointment specifically for Hertz/ Thrifty is that they force clients to pay a €30 cleaning fee in advance. This should have been included in the quotation "

" I was surprised to find that the emergency contact numbers given were French speaking - no English contacts given until (with the help of a French speaker). If I had broken down somewhere I would have been stranded. I also did not realise that when I had a puncture there was no road side assistance for this - I was expected to change the wheel myself and take it into a local garage (at my expense and inconvenience) which I thought was unreasonable - I have back problems but was told I had to do it myself or accept an 800 Euros charge for Thrifty to directly assist me. Some female alone drivers may not be physically able to change a wheel! "

" Have concerns that Thrifty may try to charge me yet for fuel so will pass this to Barclaycard for recovery along with photographic evidence. I cleaned car before returning it but it rained on the return hour ( it's the tropical wet season) so now awaiting to see if I'm also retro charged for this. I've down graded my feedback until I know whether any of my concerns are founded. "
" Picked up vehicle on a full tank return basis and car was 7/8 full took photo and raised concern at pick up time. Returned car 7/8 full (but slightly higher) and photographed gauge. Then had an argument with Thrifty staff who claimed I should have returned car full! Also asked at collection if I wanted to pay for cleaning car on its return which I declined as this should be included service as an integral part of hire. "

" First car had to be taken away after a week by breakdown trailer owing to defective battery - car had done 60K - it felt rather 'tired'. Replacement newer - better condition and functioned as expected. "
