" Auto Europe have been fantastic on previous holidays and I will use you again. But Top car is a rip off and I would like to make a complaint please. "
" We booked a mid range vehicle and got a smaller one. Seat Ibiza. Counter staff said option of this or a van. He said to bring back empty at saving of 60 euros, but we still had 130km of fuel and tank capacity was 35L so petrol at 1.15 that works out to 40 euros. When I checked saving for mid range to economy it was £60. So not happy! "

" Very misleading advert spent extra money on a vehicle for a family holiday that wasnt as advertised but as usuall has the or similar tag. I was going to book the Mercedes GLB but decided to upgrade for the extra money to the detailed Range Rover only to find out at the airport it is an evouqe nof as detailed in the advert a full size vehicle "

" I've been using Auto Europe for years - no problems. But my experience with TopCar was terrible. "
" The car I was given was almost a wreck. Every panel was scratched and dented. Bumper fixings were disconnected. All wheels were very scuffed. Exhaust was noisy. If I had not been in a hurry to get to my destination as I was running late I would have asked for a different car. When I complained about the condition of the car I was asked if I had taken photos and when I said yes, the staff member was no longer interested. When returning the car I complained again and was told, "Well, its a hire car (what do you expect)" This car should not have been offered to anyone. I paid the same as everyone else, I don't expect to be treated like this. I shall not be using TopCar again. "

" Car was a little shabby, many minor faults, also headlight kept failing. It served its purpose but not the best hire car I've ever had in Tenerife. Pick up took far too long over 1hr! and only 2 people in front of me. "

" The experience was not directly Auto Europe's fault however it was Auto Europe that I booked through and would have expected much better from one of your suppliers, having booked through you several times in the past without issue. "
" 2 hour queue to get the Car. Car Provided was smaller than originally booked, I booked a Seat Ateca or similar and Car Provided was Skoda Kamiq, desk staff lied to me and told me this was higher grade car than I had booked. The car provided hadn't been checked and had no screenwash, previous customers paperwork was still in glovebox and worst of all, after 5 days of having the Car the Brake pads/discs were worn to the metal and car was unsafe to drive, Topcar did eventually come and replace the car but only after 16 attempts to contact them and losing a full day of Car Hire. Absolutely shocking experience. "

" The information regarding where the Topcar office was situated was very confusing. We went to the return office in the car park only to be told we had to go the desk in the airport terminal. The car fine but had been cleaned internally and the windows, inside, were rather dirty. When we added my wife as the second driver it cost nearly half the cost of the whole 2 weeks hire on top of the original price. "

" Not impressed with quality of child seats and help with transporting them to the car in comparison to other experiences and disappointed with attitude from Top Car with dealing with my complaint "
" I've delayed completing this feedback because I've made a complaint to TopCar because of their child seats. My children found them very uncomfortable. It also took 3 trips to the service counter to get a seat with all straps and padding. At no point did they offer to assist with transporting seats to the car. Disappointed as limited the use of the car on the holiday. "

" Staff very slow to serve people. More interested in chatting amongst themselves & ignoring customers waiting. On pick up, one staff member clocked off, leaving a huge queue waiting. On drop off, we were ignored for about 20 minutes & when we went into the office saying we needed to drop off, as were catching a flight, I found staff quite dismissive, telling me there was a member of staff outside. Meanwhile, 5 people in the office just chatting. The car itself was not cleaned inside & the baby seat from the previous customer was still in the car. "

The cost of the total hire was more than other more costly car hire companies "

" Overall positive experience and I would happily use Auto Europe/ Top Car again. I have a 3rd party excess policy, but it is always good to take a comprehensive video of the car especially with the condition of the side roads in Fuertaventura. "
" The overall experience was very good BUT the car had previous damage on the passenger side which only became apparent when the glass of the passenger side wing mirror fell out and I then noticed that the door was catching when opened and there was a crease in the side panel. I was by myself so didn't use the passenger door. Luckily I had taken a video of the car's condition at the start so that I could show that the damage was pre-existing, although there were no issues when I returned it so they must have been aware! "

" The deposit is taken and not just held, as any other hire car firm would. This results in an overseas transaction fee being charged by your bank, also there's a discrepancy in the exchange rate. After fees and the exchange rate I paid an extra £50. I'll never use topcar again. Also after a very long wait at the kiosk we walked to the car pick up desk to pick up the keys, only to be told the keys were back in the terminal. I refused to walk back and had to wait for half half an hour in the heat with no offer of a drink until the problem was resolved. Never again. "

" Easy pick up from La Palma airport as they have a desk right by the baggage reclaim in arrivals. We got upgraded, which was nice, and the car (Dacia Sandero Stepway) was ideal for our needs. I think they were quite busy as the car hadn't been cleaned before we took it, but that didn't worry us as it wasn't overly dirty. Return experience was even easier as a TopCar member of staff was in the car park when we returned and he just took the key from us after enquiring whether we had experienced any issues. Our deposit was refunded within a day or two without any problem, so overall a very smooth experience. "

" The staff are friendly and speedy in their service, however, if you have taken insurance separately and not with Top Car, you have to pay a deposit insurance excess of 900 Euros (refundable on return). When you collect the car they do not walk round with you to check the vehicle, instead you have to sign the paperwork, are handed the keys before being directed to the car lot to pick up your car. We landed late at night, so although we were given directions, it was a while before we could locate the car. Further, you are told to take pictures of the vehicle before you leave but the car lot is poorly lit. Upon return, you park the car at the same car lot in any available bay in the Top Car section. It is important to note that staff do not come out to check car with you and say they will contact you after you return home if there are any problems. It is best to take the car to Car Rental area 2 where there is a designated 'return car' section in the basement level, where a Top Car representative will check the car over and then stamp your invoice to say the deposit refund will be processed in a few days. It is worth the time to do this to ensure you do not have any hassles after you return home. "

" Top car are on the top floor of the Lanzarote airport car park, the car was okay. Citroen C3 been through the wars, though many marks and dents, but perfectly adequate. Only issue was no washer water, prove a problem, but easily sorted would've thought it was something they would've checked, but looking at the dust under the bonnet, I don't think ever checked. The best thing about top car, if you don't have to negotiate the very narrow car park exit entrance that you do with many of the other hire companies, it's easy to drive out easy to drive in a much better place.to get to the departures entrance. "

" I found the staff very helpful and friendly and was pleased with the Audi provided to us at that price. It had a well tuned engine with enough power to carry four of us up the mountain road through Femes to and from the airport and was good around town. There was some scuff damage on pick-up which I pointed out to staff. They said they already had photos but were comfortable that I took my own, as well, and therefore there were none of the awkward conversations you can sometimes get with other providers, when you return a car exactly as you found it (but they think otherwise) Very hand location in the airport car park and even on the same level as departures when we handed it in, so straight through to baggage drop from there. " Car pick up and drop off was very easy. I was offered the additional insurance, which I took for the first time ever, but £120 for 14 days seemed reasonable given that it was an expensive car. When I dropped off the car, the lady at reception said that there was no need to check as I had paid for the additional insurance - albeit there were no bumps or scrapes. I was in Seville in July for 2 weeks and had to pay a compulsory extra £400 for insurance which I wasn't happy about. The car was no where as near as the DS Hybrid (a French Citreon / Peugeot combo). Would use this company again. "

" We collected the car at approx 9pm on the Friday after a long flight and we were tired and wanted to get to our accommodation. We drove 20km to our resort and parked the car and didn't use it again until the following Friday when I started the car I noticed that the fuel tank was half full when it should have been completely full. We spent the Friday touring Tenerife and filled up the car when we took it back. I did not mention it to the guy who checked the car over (all ok) as his English wasn't that good and my wife who disabled needed to get into the airport. Maybe I should have made a compaint but there was no way that I could prove it. "

" As I left a 700 euro deposit and didn't get back the whole amount I would not recommend going through a third party ever again. I should have received back to my credit card the same as they took for the deposit. This is misleading selling in my opinion and I would never do this again. "

Apparently they could not find the car I ordered (BMW X1) or the other car of the same category shown on your website(Citroen CS4). I was offered an unprepared mini countryman (dirty). The staff at the pickup point desk were unprofessional, unsympathetic, or appreciative of the needs of a disabled person. "

" The vehicle was present in a por state with both front seat badly stained and a front passenger door that contacted the front wing when it was opened which made it difficult to open fully. The paper work presented at the bigining of the rental did not show any of the damage that was on the vehicle at collection and when I approach a member of the TopCar staff about this they just said to photograph the the damage. It should not be up to a customer recording damage on a vehicle at the point of pick-up. When the vehicle was returned, a member of the TopCar staff inspected the rental vehicle as expected however, we were told no paper work is given to the customer to confirm the vehicle had been checked , but told that the deposit would be returned within 24 hours. It has now been 4 days and I am yet to see the deposit returned to my credit card. All in all I have had better from other rental car companies. "

" Topcar was best in every way. very competitive pricing compared to other car rental companies at Tenerife. I was offered a brand new Citroen C3 with 10 miles on the clock (looked like most of their cars are brand new). Car was easy to find at the airport, just across the road outside the main airport building, 2 min walk away. Return was even more easy. Overall 100% satisfied and happy to recommend. "

" I arrived late evening just before dusk. Check in and return was great with helpful, pleasant staff. On reaching the car, it was clear the paperwork did not match up with the condition of the car, so much so that I wrote an email with photos attached to Top Car head office to highlight the dents and scratches all over it. In fairness, Top Car did respond quickly and positively assuring me that my photos would be taken into account and I would not be charged for any issues already on the car. At the resorts, I noticed lots of Top Car rentals and none appeared to be in as bad a condition as my car which was curious. Anyway, to re-emphasise, the staff were great, administration positive but it did leave me questioning whether I would recommend them. "

" Processed speedily, but car not easy to find. First car had a fault in the electronics which led to a warning sign coming on intermittently. I was told it was a problem with the key, and I could come to the airport and replace it with the spare one. When I went they couldn't find the key, so offered me a replacement car. But I was made to wait around while they served other customers, and it was only when i protested that they gave me priority. Second car fine, but no-one in the garage when I returned it, so I had to take the key back to the office. "

" Only issue was deposit. I paid £613 but got back £573 so your fees for taking the deposit were about £40. Way too much and borderline dishonest - effectively the fee you charge for just taking the deposit is over twice the fee for the insurance excess or close to 20% excess on you hire fees. Hence poor value for money score. "

" No major problems but 1) A long wait to collect the vehicle (about an hour). 2) Fuel supplied not as per contract resulting in higher fuel bill due to difficulty in estimating amount required to replenish to half a tank. 3) Mediocre state of the vehicle. "

Secondly the vehicle was supposed to be supplied with a full tank of fuel and returned full. It was supplied with a stated half tank which in reality was closer to a quarter tank. Thirdly, the vehicle condition was mediocre with internal trim in particular in poor state of maintenance. "

" Our plane was early and we got to Topcar counter at 3pm. We had booked the car for pick up at 3.30pm and they wouldn't give us the car until 3.30 which seemed a bit odd. The gear changes on the Hyundia car were quite difficult so will ensure we don't hire one of these again.... We also had to ask how to start it as you have to put your foot on the clutch to start it which we didn't know. "
