I'm taking a liking to the Sun. But one thing I will never like? Crowded places, beaches, cafés... you name it: if it's crowded, I'm elsewhere. With that in mind, mind to guess where I'll be heading to capitalise on my newfound love for the rays? I'll tell you the country, because that's a good enough starting point.
As usual, I'll be booking a
car hire in Turkey!
Why wouldn't I? It's the best way to travel, it trumps planes, helicopters, trains, taxis and hovercrafts. Well, maybe not hovercrafts. I like self-driven journeys, because I'm not one of those travelers who schedule everything to the smallest detail, I like to be taken where the wind blows. And I like to improvise, get off the tourist grid and discover the hidden secrets of the great countries I've been blessed to visit.
Oh, and Turkey is one of those countries, no doubt. My best reference for some of the best locations I end up in are the tips I've received throughout the years by other fellow explorers. A very cool couple in particular pointed me to İçmeler, just a few minutes away with a
car hire in Dalaman.
A beach. A fantastic beach by what I've gathered, and I trust their judgement almost blindly. It's not by chance that the region is actually called the Turkish Riviera! And just a starting spot, as what I want to discover is the least known sands of the area. For a dive into something other than the turquoise, hot Mediterranean waters that bathe those shores, I'll head over to Ankara and steep myself in the ancient history and culture the country's capital has to offer.
Ah, these bank holidays are making me dream awake even more than usual.
Sun, here I come!
