Travelling the French Riviera In Style

The beautiful thing about the democratization of habits is that nowadays even a pauper like myself can manage to find affordable accommodation in the French Riviera, once the exclusive province of the rich and famous. And it's just what I plan on doing over my summer holidays, a well-deserved rest from weeks of busy work! (She says conveniently forgetting all the travelling she's already done this year... What can I say, I'm nothing if not spoiled).

Google is my new best friend and it's beyond me how people even planned trips before the Internet! I've already decided I'll pick up a car hire at Nice Airport (see the aforementioned spoiled comment...) and I've even printed out a map of the way to the hotel. Most people might take that to mean I'll actually be able to find my way around, but my vast travelling experience assures me otherwise...Now some people might point out all the wealth of history and culture that await me in the sunny south of France and I'm sure I'll have some very clever pictures of fancy buildings and important-looking squares to appease the culture-hungry relatives that live vicariously through my globe-trotting, but I'm afraid I intend these particular holidays to be of the shallow variety ;)

My France car hire will serve me well in hopping from sunny beach to sunny beach, stopping at carefully chosen restaurants able to please my wallet as well as my taste buds. I might even take the opportunity to go to a casino! I'd do well to remember how well that worked out when I was in Vegas... But you only live once, right? ;)

Any advice for my French holidays? What can't I miss?
