Popular wisdom dictates that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, but where's the fun in that? ;) Too lazy to drag my own luggage around, I picked up a
car hire at Las Vegas Airport and set off to find my hotel, guided by a worn out map and my less than stellar sense of direction. I may or may not have lost my way for a few hours, but even if I did - which I'll promptly deny should anyone ask! - that would only have provided me with the opportunity to tour this impressive city, a never ending collection of irresistible amusements and shiny distractions.
There's a reason why they call this the Entertainment Capital of the World, and three amazingly decadent days of drinking, gambling and almost getting married to a farmer from Arizona named Bill sure made an impression! I discovered I have the worst luck when it comes to gambling! It starts out well enough, but before long the Universe decides it's far more entertaining to watch me squirm as I lose than to let me enjoy my winning streak! Bad luck is bad...
Still had the time to take my
Nevada car hire to Reno, the self-proclaimed Biggest Little City in the World, but after the larger than life atmosphere of Las Vegas, I found it somewhat of a let down. Can't wait to come back next year! Though I plan on getting a little less well-acquainted with the Elvis chapel next time around. ;) What about you? Tell me all about your Vegas stories!
