The first car we were given had a broken seatbelt - shocking that this was not tested beforehand. So we had to unpack the car and wait for a new one, in the dark, and received no apology. " Very disappointed with dishonesty on the Auto-Europe site. We hired a car from Tenerife South, carefully selected for in-terminal pickup with Turisprime. On arrival, we were directed to a distant bus stop and had a 20-minute wait for a courtesy bus, with a further 20-minute drive through heavy traffic to a depot. We missed lunch at our hotel as a result. The rental deal was very good value, but the dishonesty of Auto-Europe is unforgiveable. "
" We had a very good experience with Turisprime in Tenerife. Their depot is remote and not in-terminal as promoted on Auto Europe, and we had a 20-minute wait for their bus. They are part of the Avis Budget franchise in Tenerife South. Overall experience was very good, we received the car model advertised, it had 60K kms and several scratches but it was in good shape. The counter experience on return was prompt and efficient - apart from another 20 min wait for the bus back to the terminal. Great value for money. "

Having said that the car was (eventually) ok; the drop off was very easy & efficient. It was also very cheap. I've used Auto Europe many times and would recommend but on this occasion, Turisprime was not a great experience. "

" Turisprime operate from a small brick shelter at the top back corner of the public car park and there is no clear sign posting to guide you to them. On this occasion the car interior was far from clean and could do with a full valet, especially the 2 front seats. As I pointed out to you in an email exchange after our pick up 7/11 Turisprime (Avis) charged my Visa Card the full "holding" deposit of euro 350 rather than place a "hold" against the card, contrary to T&C's of the hire voucher. This is the 1st time that any car hire company has done this in my experience and I have hired many cars over the past 20 plus years. That said I have already received back a full refund of that euro 350 charge. I will not be using Turisprime again. "

I was told the car was not damaged when I picked it up, but the car had several marks dints and scuffs, presumably this doesn't count but might be worth mentioning these when collecting the car as it took time to take photos of all the damage when we collected. The additional charges should be more explicit when ordering, additional cover at £20-30 per day to avoid a £2,000 excess is, in my opinion trying to take advantage of customers worries. Also, we were told that we could return the car on whatever amount of fuel for an additional £80, this again feels like a trick to take advantage of people who might not feel confident filling up a car abroad.
