" As our return flight was scheduled for 0715 hrs we agreed to return the car to the Wiber depot at 0500 hrs. When we arrived the depot was locked and unstaffed. There was nowhere to leave the key so we drove to the Wiber shuttle car park at the airport 3.5 kilometers away, only to find it was also locked, leaving us with no choice but to leave the car immediately adjacent to the shuttle barriers with plenty of room for other vehicles to pass. We then left the car key with an employee of Sixt car rental, who kindly agreed to pass it to a Wiber shuttle driver when they started work at 0700 hrs. We managed to board our return flight on time, but arrived home only to find 4 separate emails from Wiber, two of which imposed fines of 20 and 100Euros for late return and abandoning the car. I immediately emailed Wiber explaining our dilemma and asked for a refund of our totally unjustified fine. At no time were we able to speak to a rep from Wiber in spite of repeated phone calls. We have still to receive a response to our email and phone calls. I have also posted a critical review on Trust Pilot without response, and have initiated a Section 75 request via my bank Nationwide for the recovery of my fines totalling £106 equivalent in sterling. I would welcome some feedback on this shoddy treatment. "

Were told that there was damage to front bumper and to check car. Difficult to view car in dark at 11pm at night but found various damage at and under front bumper and photographed it. When we arrived at our accomodation 2 hours later I checked emails and saw one from Wiber which had a photo of recorded damage, one scrape on front bumper but no mention of the other 4 areas. It also stated that any other damage should be recorded within 2 hours of receiving said email but my 2 hours had passed. No mention of this email or the need to record damage on it was given at reception. Additional damage was identified in daylight in the morning and photographed. I then emailed photos to Wiber with a complaint re above and copied it to AE. Wiber replied that they had added photos to my file. On return there were no issues with only fuel level being checked. The car itself was first class but communication of requirements when picking up the car could improve. I didn't take their insurance as I have annual policy! "

" We waited a long time at the airport for any shuttle bus to arrive. When we eventually got the pick-up depot it was very busy and chaotic. I felt very rushed and stressed dealing with the counter staff when juggling also two young children. They were not very informative and messed up the deposit so that two payments were required, following which I was then told both payments had to be made on the same card (at which point there was then a limit issue). The keys were shoved at us and off we went with no mention at all to 'check the car' and 'take photos of any damage'. Clearly I should have known better but after a long delay and stress of their shuttle, queueing and it being dark, I did not. I took excellent care of the care but on return was told there were four or five damages but they would "only charge for the front main damage to the bumper". I have no way to defend this topic, no legal right as clearly I did not read the small print in the contract when being rushed to sign an electronic screen, and had no option but to be bullied in to accepting a near €400 cost. Horrible experience. Reminds me of dealing with second hand car dealers in the 80s! "

" Firstly, when we booked with "auto Europe" we got quoted something like 80 euros for 6 days , then 180 for the added insurance (which I usually get every time) which I assumed meant we didn't have to leave a deposit so I paid for it. Ok, we accepted that, Anyway, when trying to get the car they said they I had to leave 1500 block on my card and I stated and showed them I paid 180 for added insurance they quickly dismissed it and shut it down "no no that's nothing to do with us it's an external company, it's another 200 euros for our added insurance" being 11.45 at night, an our drive away from our accommodation , and that fact I didn't take my credit card with me as I didn't think I needed it, we were left with no choice to pay this and of course they knew this that's why they did it. got in the car it's 12am stressed about the delayed flight and lost baggage, saw the petrol amount was marginally below full, the mileage was on 640 left. Full tank I imagine being 700. I should have taken a photo but we just didn't think much of it as it was as I said marginally under. So when we went to drop it off we took it back exactly the same, around 640 miles and very slightly under full, they kicked off straight away and said it's under I said time and time again it was like that when we picked it up! They docked me €27 euros out of the €90 euros deposit paid!! So for a 6 day car rental we paid over €400 and it's not acceptable. Won't be using auto Europe again if some resolve doesn't happen "

" The last time with Europe car was good. This last time I put the filter on that I only wanted a service in the airport terminal as we had small children with us. Wilber came up which was not in the terminal and took all of us about 30 minutes to locate where the bus to take us to the rental car place was. Not a great first experience with the family. "

My 11 month old Son, 3 year old and wife had to wait it the August mid day sun with no water or food the entire time. Finally got the car and the car seat didn't work initially, and and and. " I specifically didn't want the car hire firm to hold a large chunk of money on my credit card. Auto Europe had multiple drop down options at booking so you could be very specific about the car hire you require. Very impressed and would use again. "

" All went well and very happy with car and treatment I got on collecting and drop off. BUT. I discovered that the car hire firm charged me £25/- for late return which is untrue. Please see attachment. Or separately in another email, I collected the car on 06 June at around 9pm and returned it around 2pm next day. I need reimbursement. Particularly when I received email on the 7th, from WIBER, telling me they reimbursed petrol charges and credit card reserves of €1,200/- Please instruct them to refund me the £25 they unfairly charged. This is terrible trick. "

" Overall good; I have used Auto Europe before. One problem was that the hire company had said that an arrival flight number was essential. I wasn't picking the car up immediately on arival but a couple of days later. I phoned Auto Europe and was told it was fine, ignore it. However, as the company did not have an office at the airport I was reliant on their minibus picking me up. Fortunately there were other customers waiting to be picked up as I don't think that I was on the driver's list; had I been the only customer I wonder if I would have been expected. "
" Overall good and a very good price. The car had quite a lot of minor damage on pickup. All these marks had been photographed and were sent to my email but unforunately went into my junk box! The counter staff had previously told me that I should take photos of any damage and could present them when I returned the car but the 'junked' email said such photos must be uploaded to their site withing 2 hours of pickup. This caused some concern but as there was no further damage during my rental, the issue didn't arise. I did inform the person checking the car on drop-off that there was a very slow leak from one tyre valve as I thought it could cause a problem in the future. This was treated as possible damage and my excess was held until later in the day to ensure I hadn't caused a puncture...I should have said nothing! "

" We were uplifted pretty quickly from outside the terminal. It is a bit chaotic as all the off terminal companies pick up in the same area. The rental office is nearby and we were attended to right away. No hard sell to buy their insurance package and we had our own insurance bought in the U.K. anyway. It is pretty straightforward leaving the rental office to get onto the main road out of Malaga from this location. My only issue is that Wiber provided photos of existing damage by email when we picked up the car. When we returned the car it was suggested that we had caused some damage to the front of the car which wasn't included in these pictures. Thankfully we had taken lots of pictures when we picked up the car and had one of the damage concerned which sufficed them. We were caught out with another company last year and ended up being charged for damages we weren't responsible for so were much more cautious this year. Would advise anyone hiring a car in Spain to take pictures of any existing damage to car including the underside front and back. I would certainly use Wiber again based on this recent experience as it was much more straightforward than previous companies we've used. There is also a BP petrol station right beside them so makes returning the car full much easier. "

" One is that there was a transfer from the Airport took us along time to locate shuttle. We paid Auto europe excess waiver they tried to sell us there policy for £100 stating it is difficult to get your money back for auto Europe if needed. we took pictures all around the vehicle to check as there were some scratches. They then send us the contract by email with pictures showing damage and had 2 hours to down load the pictures of new damage by the time we got to the hotel it was too late to down load any of our own. So there was the uncertainty that the damage we found was not recorded however on return all was okay but it is the uncertainty and I am sure some naïve people may have got stung on return. "

" Diabolical pick up from Alicante airport. The staff hate it if you do not pay for extended insurance. You may well get a car covered in damages, specially late at night, when it is virtually impossible to check over your car. You have a good chance of getting scammed and paying for damage not highlighted at the start. A gleeful employee, will point out, you should have taken their extended insurance in the first place. This is the first time in 40 years of hiring abroad I have been scammed and it is the first time I have rented from Wiber! "
" We had a ridiculously long wait at Alicante, to go to the Wiber depot. The minibus turned up and could only take half the number of clients, so another huge wait in the cold. The other rental companies courtesy vehicles provided much slicker pickups than Wiber. Everyone in the queue were complaining how ridiculous it was. We did not take extended insurance, so were given the 'scam car'. It was parked in the pitch dark car park, no lighting anywhere and we were provided by email, with a large number of photographs, of minor damage around the car. We were assured all damage was provided in the email, as they are so thorough. However we did find another damage which they photographed and re-emailed. It is virtually impossible to check over a car late at night, with so much damage, using just the light of a mobile phone. On return of the car, the Wiber rep called me out to show me two tiny little indentations in the bonnet, which at first i could not even see. I told him the damage looked like it was caused by a couple of thumbs when closing the bonnet a bit heavily. He said it was coursed by knuckles when closing the bonnet. He was well aware of these two tiny indentations. We had not opened the bonnet and had absolutely no reason to open it. It was a slick well rehearsed scam and I assume many people have been caught out. He made a point of raising the issue of us not taking out their extra insurance, at the commencement of the rental. I assume all the other minor damages were charged to previous clients, but never repaired. I will certainly be telling other people to watch out for their scams in future. I also assume the Wiber staff are on a good commission for these scams. "

" Only negative I had was that I asked if the money for the deposit and fuel was blocked or taken and I was told it was all just blocked whereas the fuel has been taken which means when I get a refund it's likely to be different due to the exchange rate in pounds on my card... Also, on booking it said that you wanted everything to be open and honest to make a smoother experience but you failed to tell me about the cost of fuel deposit which I wasn't expecting. "

" It seems to me that the booking process was misleading. I paid extra to have insurance only to be told by Wibur that they did not recognise this insurance and that I would both have to pay a 700 euro excess and be liable for any damage or costs. "

" Car damage report bore no relation to the vehicle. It transpired it had been repaired but not updated. The suggestion from check in staff was to look at photos of damage, ascertain where damage might have been and note if there was anything additional. This is almost impossible when there were 10 thumbnail photos, the location on the car was wrongly marked and the sun is shining on phone screen and on car bodywork. In fairness, a lovely helpful girl called Marta came out and helped me eventually. Full marks to her but the other staff I spoke to were v unhelpful. Stressful way to start rental. "

" The detail of all marks and scratches on the vehicle being photographed is a little concerning at the time as it makes the customer feel that any slight mark or scratch left on the vehicle is going to lead to a significant penalty. However, when we returned the vehicle (in exactly the same condition as we started) the inspection was less detailed. This felt like a relief as we feared marks might be identified that we were not responsible for. It was all OK though and the service seemed very efficient . The charge for child seats is far too high and disproportionate to the cost of hiring the vehicle. Autoreisen do not charge at all ! "

" Friendly staff, spoke very good english and didn't try to upsell the extra insurance cover. He did make me aware it existed and what it was but when I said I didn't want it he didn't press me. Everything was explained well. The only thing that could have been better were the pickup instructions. It was not clear that the Wiber office wasn't in the airport and we had to get a shuttle from the courtesy bus stop. We eventually found the bus stop but still didn't know about the shuttle "

A counter to stand at would be useful. " We found Wiber incredibly good from reception on arrival to departure. Staff were very friendly and pick up at airport to car hire uplift was efficient and a very friendly and helpful driver. Our car was a split new Ford Fiesta never used before us and we had a great time travelling around in it. Arrival back to drop off was easy and we had a courtesy car to take us back across to departures. I would recommend Wiber to anyone and would definitely use them again, 10/10! "

We paid a little extra for the full insurance package, but still expected the usual up-selling when we picked up the car, but no we got the keys, car and off we went, no problems. Easy drop of too, was expecting to told we would need to pay extra cleaning because there was a spec of sand in the boot, but again we handed over the keys and off we went. " The site is clear and accessible. There were no issues with the booking itself and the voucher and instructions provided were very clear. I make it clear I have no issue with Auto Europe itself. "
" The shuttle took about 15 minutes to arrive. There was not much of a queue yet the staff were slow and then took each hirer to closely inspect the hire car with an electron microscope. We bought an excess policy so got the car for only 18 Euros for the week having declined their 102 Euro "Fully inclusive). This prompted a very fine scrutiny of every tiny scratch on the car. After leaving, we noted the tank was not full (we checked later and it was a full-full contract and we had been charged 57 Euros for a full tank) so took a photo showing the mileage on the contract, the date and the fuel level as it was getting late. We returned the car an hour early and waited in line to hand the keys back - again, each hirer was taken to the car and they were minutely inspected causing delay and then they took the fully inclusive hirers, causing more delay in baking heat. I was anticipating issues and, sure enough, even after being shown the indelible proof of the photo, they then wanted a copy of the photo which was on a camera so it took about 45 minutes to an hour to download an app to my phone and transfer the photo so it could be e-mailed. It then took a while to get their attention to confirm receipt of the e-mail (even though they weren't doing anything) and we then had to wait 20 minutes for the next shuttle. In conclusion, even though the hire was extremely cheap (it now looks like they have refunded the tank of fuel), the delay was totally unacceptable and I would far rather pay more than waste a sizable chunk of time being messed around. The under-fuelling may have been human error but I was treated like a third rate hirer. Reviews on Trustpilot suggest there are issues at the Mallorca branch. "

" Wiber uses a shuttle service and the wait at the airport was far too long. It was a full tank return contract and in spite of the tank being full on return a proper refund was not given by Wiber. The car had serious bodywork damage including a badly damaged passenger door. After driving a few kilometers I noticed the steering pulling to one side and had to stop at a garage to pump up the tyres. Wiber's base is quite far from the airport and there are no signposts. On pick up you have to be very careful to photograph every single part of the car from different angles. Overall I have much better experiences with the in-airport companies and would not use Wiber again. "
