" When I collected the vehicle I was told there was no existing damage and because it was raining I didn't look closely at the car. However after driving 10 miles and parking the car on my daughter driveway I noticed there were 2 dents in the rear passenger door, one of 5 cms and another of 1 cm. I contacted Alamo immediately and after 2 attempts I finally got to speak to someone. They told me to send them photos of the existing damage and they would amend there records. There was no problem returning the car and my deposit was returned. Lesson learned - don't just accept what they tell you when to pick up the car and always look carefully for existing damage, even when it's raining. "

" I have used Auto Europe before for a holiday car rental and was delighted but my recent experience using Auto Europe for business travel has left me in a very difficult position; unable to obtain a VAT invoice for the cost of the rental. The Auto Europe website says that for a VAT invoice I should contact the rental supplier, but Keddy will not provide anything other than a £0 invoice when I asked as there were no additional charges. Without a VAT invoice for the cost of the rental I am unable to claim the cost of the rental from my employer. After asking a Auto Europe representative to help explain Auto Europe's disclosed agent status to Keddy and to explain to Keddy why Auto Europe cannot provide a VAT invoice and that is the responsibility of Keddy, all I get told is Auto Europe can't provide an invoice and speak to Keddy, who tell me to speak to Auto Europe. I feel I am just going around in circles with neither company showing any interest in helping in a meaningful way. "It's not us, speak to them" from both sides.. Frustrating and stressful as without a VAT invoice I am £302.92 out of pocket. Would not recommend Auto Europe or Keddy for renting a car for business travel as the service is not fit for purpose if a VAT invoice can't be obtained. Customer service has been very poor which is a shame as the experience up to now was positive. I would also have concerns about personal use rentals after my experience with customer service. Your website should make clear that rental suppliers won't supply VAT invoices for bookings made through Auto Europe; it currently suggests otherwise which led me to book my business travel car rental with Auto Europe believing your website that then rental supplier would provide the invoice. Disappointed and frustrated to be sent round in circles by Keddy and Auto Europe's poor customer service. "

Their own employee advised that this model doesn't always show full even though the pressure sensor trips when filling the tank but they'll accept that as full. "

" We had a concerning issue with the hire car in that we experienced a problem securing the car on a public car park. In that after locking the car we found when checking the car locks every time we tried the boot the whole car unlocked, On consulting your documentation we only had telephone numbers for customers services and enquiries which were closed as it was late on a Saturday evening. Your documentation said use the telephone number on the windscreen, however no such information was displayed. After an extensive period we eventually contacted the RAC via your accident telephone number. the problem was sorted for us by the RAC via a telephone conversation. At one time during the anxious period I was preparing to sleep in the car for security reasons. I reported this issue at the time of drop off to the area manager who was on duty, he apologised and would inform his team to ensure that the correct information was on the car or documentation. I found that this customer experience to be unacceptable as it did mar our enjoyment of our journey "

" The class of car requested in my booking was not available when I went to collect it. An upgrade was offered but at extra cost (although a discount was given) which I no choice but to agree. The Enterprise rep (who was very polite but insistent) said this was because my reservation was at very short notice (true - about 10 minutes!) and reservations via third party websites do not / cannot always check availability in realtime. Clearly this was very disappointing and will be a major drawback to making urgent bookings via your site in the future. Your website should make it clear that the booking is not firm at the point of purchase and indeed lacking such a clear warning, I think you may be sailing close to the wind legally speaking. Can't recommend them highly enough. On a scale of 1 to 10 they were a 12. It was a stark contrast to our experience with Avis (also booked through you) which we picked up at Heathrow in London. They were offhand and not particularly helpful. When we dropped the car back to them at Edinburgh they tried to sting us for GBP90 for damage to the tyres. Luckily we took a video of the vehicle when we picked it up and showed them the damage was already there at pick up. VERy very unhappy with Avis. "

" Booked our car via you. We had a flight cancelled and ended up travelling half way round the world to get then. Once arriving in Aberdeen we found that our car had been given away due to our delay and we would need to pay extra for a different car. Then we were told that we needed to use a credit card and a debit card would not suffice. Even though we could prove we had the £1500 excess and even though we paid the higher price with auto Europe to cover that £1500 excess and were told this covers us for nothing with easy rent. At that point they told us our only option was to pay £200 for an insurance policy. Cleary a scam as the person at the counter new the exact page and reference number to the small price where a credit car was necessary. If we had been informed we would of made sure we had one with us. And of course when we tried to put the booking in my partners name because he had a credit card we could do that as the booking was in a different system. We walked away with no rental car, an hour of wasted time and £58 out of pocket. "

" I had a last minute requirement for car hire after being let down by another rental company who only made it clear they could not hire cars to diabetic drivers at point of collection. We set up an online order with alamo as cost and features were in line with our needs and also called the branch to ensure being diabetic was not an issue which they confirmed. Unfortunately we could no lt complete the online order due to needing the car immediately so we called again and staff at main branch were very helpful completing our order over the phone although they could not guarantee the car would be ready within in hour and advised us to call the local branch to confirm. The local branch said they did not have a mini economy car available immediately however they could offer the next model up at no extra charge for immediate collection. The car itself was a better specification than I would have expected for a rental car and was in excellent condition and return was also quick and easy. My overall experience was excellent. "

Car was two years old but classed as an upgrade the roof was the only panel without damage but you wonder how much money this car has accrued the company in insurance charges over that two years without any repairs being carried out.
