" Again I am very happy with Auto Europe. The only downside was the Avis counterstaff in Vienna and getting Avis UK to deal with my query when raised by email straight away. They said they could only deal with it when the invoice arrived after the rental. Even now they are not denying my claim that the clerk was wrong but saying I signed the agreement. Let's see what happens. "
" I am in dispute with Avis over their cross border charge. Contrary to their website, the counter staff insisted I had to pay a cross border charge for the whole 8 days of the rental not just the one designated day that I had indicated. He would not check with Avis that he was correct. I also noticed that on the agreement that the car was shown as Red not Grey and that the record mileage was very much more than shown on the agreement. However the registration number was correct. It was so dark in the garage that it was impossible to check all the damage marked. The car also tumed out to be a plug in hybrid although the agreement only mentioned petrol. On the return at Vienna Airport these days, there is a single return place irrespective of the rental company. You are told just to leave the keys in the car and go. There is no role for the customer to play in checking , mileage, fuel or condition. In the event, when the invoice came later by email, all seemed fine for all 3 - even though the mileage was now over 30,000 kms than shown on the outgoing agreement! "

" Excellent Service from start to finish. Just one fly in the ointment. When I got to the Hire counter in Innsbruck I was told that there an 850 euro excess and would I like to pay to reduce this to zero. I had phoned Auto europe/Avis before I went to establish that there would be noe request for any money as I had paid a premium on the insurance. I therefore had the worry of driving around for a week praying that I didn't have an accident. This whole area is very grey and needs to be clearer. "

" We have twice booked with Avis this summer - once a BMW1 "or similar" where we were given a Toyota Auris (from a location that doesn't even have a BMW) and this time a Mercedes B class "or similar" where we were given a Renault Kadjar. In nobody's book are these "similar" vehicles. On the basis of false advertising we will not use Avis again and would recommend friends to hire with someone else too "

" The website encouraged me to upgrade to the equivalent of a Mercedes A Class. I was given a Seat Arona. Nowhere near the equivalent of a Mercedes A Class. The boot was not big enough for golf clubs, which was why I upgraded. "
