" I had a very disappointing experience arriving in Bastia airport. I had to deal with extremely unprofessional and rude staff in the Europe Car counter. Literally the employee when she gave us the key for the car she said she hopes she wont see us again. Her name is Chantal. The previous day after registering for the car we saw that the time was not convenient and we needed the car urgently earlier. We called Auto Europe and they transferred our call to Bastia airport. The employee was polite and said it wont be a problem to take the car at 8 30 to 09. When we arrived we talked with the staff at the time explaining the situation and asking for next steps. The woman almost shouting told us she doesn't care what we were told and we need to wait till she wants to call us. We waited in the area and an hour after we asked again in order to decide to get another car from another company. To our surprise we didn't receive any answer, she was talking to us like we were idiots and we are bothering her day. We waited in total 3 hours and tried unsuccessfully to talk with them in total 3 times. As a result we received the keys too late for our meeting. I would like to add that I speak french and my boyfriend is french so there was absolutely no language barrier. Also it didn't seem to be a crowded day at all. We are still very disappointed by the poor communication and character from the staff of Europe Car in Bastia Airport and I would for sure warn my network about Europe Car department in Bastia. "

The car was not full of fuel , and the aircon was appalling for operating in such a hot climate - there was no cooling effect in the rear seats and the control had to be set to 14 max auto and recirc to be slightly effective "

" More thought needs to be given to providing automatic cars in the smaller car range. The roads in Corsica are extremely challenging - an automatic box would have helped considerably but wasn't available until the higher specification models, which are pointless for a solo traveller and out of a lot of people's price range. At my destination, automatics were available from Fiat 500 upwards, which would have made driving a lot easier. Other than this, you've got it just about right. "

" You would think by now picking up a car would be quick and easy. The company has all the information it needs to prepare the paperwork. So waiting the best part of an hour to pick up the car was not a good experience. On returning the car, as instructed when picking up the car I did not wait in the queue, but tried to hand the paperwork to one of the staff, and was told to wait. A customer waiting in the queue took exception to my not wanting to wait as I had a plane to catch. It needs a proper process, of which everyone is informed, of what to do when returning the paperwork. "

" Mediocre. The car that arrived was theoretically 7 seats as requested, but 2 of the seats were only suitable for very small children, as there was no leg room at all. This could have been made clearer on the booking details, and given the absolute fortune I was paying, I would have expected a bit more. "
" The dropoff point is quit a walk back to the terminal. No trolleys provided, which with 3 children under 5 and a load of luggage is quite an ask. The queues for pickup were massive, and when the car arrived it had different group car seats to the ones I had asked for. The staff didn't care when I pointed this out and walked off. The car had a damaged parking sensor which we didn't notice until we had got back to our house with it. At least they didn't try to make out this was our fault! "

Obviously there was nothing I could do about that and it seems unjust to prey on travellers like this. " Pre-booked a small car at Bastia Airport (Corsica) and arrived to find two SIXT personnel trying to deal with too many customers, despite two vacant positions being unmanned. This is not due to an unexpected number of clients as they know how many people are booked and when they are arriving...and it was the same last year. I made the mistake of thinking last year was exception but apparently not! ...they just don't employ enough people meaning it takes more than 1 hour to get a car. When I did get to the agent, who was pleasant and efficient, they said they would upgrade me to a larger car free of charge. I naively thought great, only to discover it was a Kangoo and a small bus. Grateful to get out after more than an hour I looked at the contract for any indication of damage, only to find a limited number of 3 letter acronyms seemingly describing some damage. You cannot decipher the content. Then at the car you find a piece of paper on the seat, advising you'll be charged €50 if the car is deemed not clean enough on its return but more annoyingly a request to look over the car for any damage and take images of any damage that is not already detailed on the contract. A- you cannot analyse the damage recorded on the contract to know what it is B- You are only allowed to take 7 images C- You are requested to send the images to an email address using your own phone and data etc... D- You only have 30 minutes to do this from when the Contract was completed So basically SIXT takes an already anxious and expensive part of a holiday, with all the up-selling that goes on with Car Hire, and makes it worse by complicating and reducing support to the point of stupidity. When questioned about the fact that the voucher number provided by Auto Europe did not work on the Europcar website to enter driver info, they were very unhelpful both by email and by phone. When eventually referred to the customer care adviser he said I should not have been referred to him as he only dealt with post hire problems not pre hire and he would ask a supervisor to phone me. He never did. "

" On the positive side we had an upgrade on arrival which made the amount paid about £20 per day for a C4. On a less positive note we were presented with a form (which appeared to have been produced locally on a word processor rather than an official company form) which stated we either paid 25 euros or promised to return the car as clean inside and out as the state we hired it in. I have never seen such a form as this before and surely cleaning the car for the next client should be factored into the price. All the paperwork to be signed was in French. Lastly, on collecting the car the employee in the yard was not very helpful and did not fully inspect the car with us. In fact we had to draw his attention to a scratch in the paintwork. "

We were issued with a Peugeot Partner. We found the 'ride' on windy bumpy roads uncomfortable. We would have much preferred our ordered small car. "
