    Airport Facilities

The airport offers passengers the chance to pick up last minute travel items or visit the duty free shop before boarding their flight. Numerous restaurants and bars are located throughout the airport as well. Be sure to check out the airport directory to determine what facilities are located within your terminal.

ATMs and wifi areas are available in each terminal. For more information, please visit one of the many information desks throughout the airport.

If you do not wish to drive your car hire to and from the airport, you can easily get there via the bus or train systems. Buses run to central Barcelona, Catalonia, Andorra, and nearby towns. The train provides connections from the airport to Barcelona and the surrounding towns as well.

    Parking Tips

The Barcelona-El Prat Car Park offers passengers more than 19,000 short-term and long-term parking spaces. Parking access is convenient to both Terminals 1 and 2.

If you are taking your car hire to Barcelona, remember to abide by the local parking restrictions. On-street parking is allowed in areas that are marked blue, but parking is usually only allowed for two hours. Most parking is paid using meters, and a pay and display scheme is in operation: once you have paid for your ticket, remember to display it clearly on your dashboard.

Car parks often offer a more stress-free solution to parking in the city. Barcelona even offers some free car parks, such as those found close to the Zona Universitaria and Vall d'Hebron metro stations. However, you may find that indoor parks, where parking is paid, are safer. The closer you are to the city centre, the more expensive parking in these car parks is.
