Biarritz itself is very close: driving down the Boulevard du Bab and Avenue de Verdun will allow you to reach the centre in just 10 minutes. If you wish to stay within France, an interesting inland destination is Pau, only a little over an hour away via the A64. Heading over the border to Spain, you can reach the coastal town of San Sebastián via the A63 and AP-8 in about 40 minutes. Or if you continue farther down the AP-8, you can drive your car hire all the way to Bilbao in just an hour and a half. We have put together some more route suggestions and traffic regulations in France, which can be found here.
Public transportation from Biarritz Airport is mainly offered by the bus company Chronoplus. Line C will get you from the airport directly to Biarritz-La Négresse railway station in about 10 minutes. There are also routes taking passengers to the towns of Anglet and Bayonne, and other regional routes offered by the company ATCRB. Transportation companies Pesa and Conda also have routes to Spain.
