Transportation / How to get to the airport

Car hire from Montpellier Airport is the way to go if you want to be well connected to the surrounding region. You can drive your car hire to Montpellier via the D66, with driving time varying between 10 and 20 minutes depending on traffic. Marseille can be reached in about an hour an a half when you take the A9 and A54. Or if you head in the opposite direction on the A9, you can get to Toulouse in about two and a half hours. More tips can be found here.

If you need public transportation in order to reach the city of Montpellier, your main option is the Airport Shuttle (bus route 120). The bus route runs between the airport and Place de l'Europe in Montpellier, with a journey time of approximately 15 minutes. You can find the bus stop outside the terminal building - it is to your left as you exit arrivals. When you reach Place de l'Europe, you have the option of changing to the city's tram.
