I am very satisfied with Europcar, especially with the very friendly, competent and helpful staff. Not with auto.europe.com or with their small print. Due to a flight change by the airline, I had to shorten my vacation by one day. I stated this directly to Europcar, but auto.europe.com expects an earlier adjustment of the contract, although the end and not the beginning of the relationship has changed. On the day, Enterprise staff were mildly sympathetic. " My partner and I are extremely disappointed and upset by our experience with Europcar in Cardiff. The experience started well, we collected the car as planned on Monday the 2nd of Sept from the Cardiff branch, seemingly without a problem. The drop-off was agreed as 4pm the following Saturday. We queried whether there would be a problem if we were delayed by traffic and were assured by the lady serving us that this would not be a problem as we had paid for the whole day, so could drop off later if we wanted. We assumed this would involve a key drop box of some sort, however upon our slightly delayed return to Cardiff we found the building to be shut, with nobody in sight and no key drop box. We then called the Europcar emergency help line to seek advice and were told by the first person we spoke to that we could simply leave the keys in the glove box and walk away! When I questioned this, he hung up on me. When I called back, a more helpful gentleman suggested we change our drop off location to a branch which was still open. We decided to change the drop-off to Gatwick which resulted in: - Being charged £50 by Europcar for this privilege; - Extra petrol costs; - Wasted bus tickets which we were planning on using to get to Gatwick; - An overall extremely stressful and upsetting experience. Had we not been slightly delayed and turned up at 4pm, as agreed, I have little doubt that the building would have been shut anyway, as I tried calling the branch repeatedly from 3.30pm until 4pm without any response. The branch shuts at 4pm, so I suspect they had left early. How can you return a car at 4pm if the branch is shut at 4pm? The staff at Gatwick were excellent and very helpful and sympathetic, however the Cardiff branch were just a huge disappointment. In light of our disappointing and stressful experience, I respectfully request a full refund on this rental, including the extra £50 we were charged to change the drop-off location. "

" We called to say we're gonna pick the car later and nobody answered. And then when we contacted the company where we were gonna pick the car in Cardiff airport they said they never got the petition from autoeurope asking for a car and that the car we were supposed to have was already given to somebody else. We demand a refund since we didn't even use the car. Also we tried to call on the Saturday and there was no reply from autoeurope. We already sent a customer service form submission. "

" Easirent guys were very helpful with credit card problems, much appreciated. I did return the car with about 25 pounds worth more of fuel than when driven away though, so I should have insisted on having a full tank on pickup, instead of accepting the 1/4 full note on the paperwork. "

" The service I have received from the team at Cardiff airport (and especially the manager) has been consistently excellent. The cars are always welll prepared and check out/in is fast. I hire a car each week, and have never felt the need to consider one of the other suppliers. "

" Straight forward booking as usual. Although I booked a 'Mercedes C Class or equivalent' and was given a Mercedes A Class by Enterprise which is not an equivalent vehicle. "
" The staff at Cardiff were very pleasant but I had booked a Mercedes C Class or equivalent and was given a Mercedes A Class which is a lower level vehicle. The car also had an electrical fault which meant the stop/start function didn't work properly and resulted in the car cutting out a couple of times. I was offered a 10% discount on my next rental but overall the vehicle was not of the grade or standard expected. "
