Driving Licence Requirements

To hire a car in Bulgaria, you need a valid and full national driver's licence. An International Driver's Licence is highly recommended for a car in Sofia.

Car Hire Age Requirements

Bulgaria car hire requirements state that you have to be at least 21 years old (age may vary by car category) to drive in Bulgaria and you need to have held your license for 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may be subject to a young driver surcharge.

Road Rules and Petrol Stations
