Driving Licence Requirements

Driving licence requirements in Malta state that to drive a car you must be at least 18 years old and have held your licence for 1 year.

Age Requirements

To hire a car in Malta you must be at least 21 years old - age may vary by car category - and have held your license for at least 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge. The maximum age for a car hire in Luqa is 70 years.
