    Driving Licence Requirements

    The driving licence requirements in New Zealand state that you must have a full driving licence that is valid in your country of residence.

    Age Restrictions

    To hire a car in New Zealand, you must be at least 21 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge.

    Road Rules and Petrol Stations

    Domestic one-way car hire is available between locations on the same island with a 3 day minimum. If you are travelling between the North and South islands, please notify us at time of booking so we can arrange to split your rental between the two islands.
