    Driving Licence Requirements

    In order to drive a vehicle in Norway you must be at least 18 years old and have a full driving licence valid in your country of residence.

    Age Restrictions

    To hire a car in Norway, you must be at least 19 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge. It is best to check the age restrictions when booking a car hire in Haugesund.

    Tolls

    Norway has road, bridge and tunnel tolls. These can be paid in cash at the road toll. The city tolls in Norway must be paid prior to entering the city zones. You can pay for the toll charges at Esso stations.

    Parking Information

    Parking your car hire is not allowed on main roads in Norway but there are many municipal lots. Parking meters are categorised by colour, with yellow meters permitting 1 hour parking, gray meters permitting 2 hours and brown meters permitting 3 hours.

    One-way Car Hire

    Domestic one-way hires are available and some routes do incur additional return fees. There are fees for international one-way rentals, and not all vehicles are allowed. If you plan to drive with a Norway car hire you can pick it up in one location and return it to another location but there are some restrictions that you need to check with your car hire supplier.
