" First off they were pushy about taking out there insurance, they were disappointed when I showed them I had my own excess insurance. Then they asked for my International Drivers License (IDP), admittedly it is in very fine print, I hire cars frequently worldwide, especially EU, all car hires have this fine print, yet no one has asked before - Czechia, France, Italy, Spain etc. After coming home I checked UK GOV website it has a list of countries where IDP would be applicable (No EU countries is it required), a IDP is effectively a readable translation of your drivers license, funny enough my UK license is in English. As the Car hire was away from airport, I wanted to cut my losses and leave as they wouldn't let me take car without paying 29EUR per day, turns out it was there excess insurance which they tried selling me earlier, they had me over a barrel, Since being back in UK I was very suspicious of any costs from DRYYVE as my Credit card had 500EUR hold, what a surprise 3 days later 39EUR cleaning fee, car was fairly clean, perhaps some footwell footprints, scam scam scam . Avoid these guys if you have other options, they are cheap for a reason, they will fleece you some how, not worth worrying about when you're trying to enjoy your holiday. I'm expecting there usual response on IDP, cleaning fee. There are many negative reviews, which refer to there dishonest practices, definitely a common theme. "

" I use car rental companies in Austria almost twice a month, and have been doing so for over fifteen years! The only positive thing I can say about Dryyve is that the car was clean and the chap that inspected the car, upon return, was polite. However, during this particular trip to Austria, I found myself having to extend my stay. I needed to extend the car hire for a further four days, I emailed Dryyve via their email address on their contract form. I was directed to a WhatsApp chat. I sent several messages but all messages were read but ignored. I tried calling many times on both numbers provided, but again, no response, so I ended up booking again through the broker. When I returned the car for the changeover, I asked the lady at the desk about their lack of customer service. I told her I had tried to make contact many times. Her response was apathetic, she was extremely rude, she told me that I should have emailed customer service. Which I replied I had and was given a WhatsApp number. I tried to show her the messages but she had no interest in looking. To try and lighten the situation, I said I would be happy to keep the same car, to save on them having to clean an extra vehicle. Eventually she agreed, my car was inspected and a second contract was issued. I just couldn't believe my eyes when I received an invoice for cleaning! We always learn by our mistakes; I definitely won't be using Dryyve car hire again! "
" Dryyve Rental Car hire in Austria - Do not be fooled by the initial low cost - they will charge you for absolutely everything, and more! The following charges were made to my credit card during and after the rental period - 1. Green sticker for motorway (all hired cars in Austria normally have this by default.) 2x 12euros 2. (In 20 years of hiring cars in Austria, I have never seen such a charge, the car had a little dirt in the drivers footwell and the boot, where ski-boots had been transported) 3. I still have to pay the speeding fines. I have never had this problem of extra charges with any other hire company before. " 1. I arrived to the counter, having ordered an SUV and was asked if I was ok with automatic. I said no problem. When I got to the car, it was a tiny car. I had 3 children with me and needed to get ski stuff in, so I had to go back to the counter and request a different car. When I got the car it was 5300km overdue a service. this is disgraceful! Especially when I had been told that any breakdowns would be my responsibility! Surely safety should come first and yet my family and I were put in a vehicle that was thousands of kms overdue a service! The chance for breaking down would obviously have been much higher in such a scenario and should the car have broken down, why would I have to pay due to the negligence of Dryyve? 3. At drop off, I was charged a 30 Euro cleaning fee! This is utterly ridiculous as it's a hidden cost because what vehicle isn't going to come back needing to be cleaned. Even if you drove it around for an hour, it's going to need a clean, so this is dishonest and sneaky. Having used Dryyve for 5 years now, I'm unlikely to ever use them again. Even if their prices are lower initially, they're dishonest and unsafe. "

" I really wish I'd read the terrible reviews on trustpilot before being suckered by apparently the low rental price which escalated to 3x the original price after a catalogue of hidden charges at the pickup kiosk. A UK driving licence is perfectly legal in Austria according to the UK government without an International Driving Permit (IDP) (search: gov.uk driving-abroad international-driving-permit) - Not according to Dryyve!!! They require an IDP, but you only discover this at the rental pickup kiosk. The contract you are given at the rental desk states "you may be required to present an IDP if your licence was issued outside the EU or it is not in Latin characters." It's clearly not a legal requirement for UK licensees as there is an government level agreement specifying the continued equivalence of UK driving Licenses in Austria. No Autoeurope, Brexit does not annul this agreement as you told me on the phone when I complained. If you missed this post contract stipulation, (maybe because you didn't expect to be conned by an Autoeurope affiliate) don't worry, your "dodgy UK driving licence" can easily be made legal for an extra EUR 29 per day with Dryyve's "lazy pack" insurance. This SCAM TRIPLED THE COST of my rental!!! Add to that the cost of the Austrian road tax vignette of EUR 24 which all other rental companies include up front but but Dryyve hides this charge too until you are at their pickup kiosk - I'm happy to pay this but please, show it up front before people book. Add to that the free shuttle taxi "organised" by Dryyve that is not free if you have luggage - EUR 5 per bag. Then we were asked to queue outside their carpark kiosk in the cold and watch through the glass as other renters endure their own Dryyve rip-off experience. The couple ahead of us were caught too and decided to cancel their rental and pay EUR150 for a taxi to their destination instead, the family behind us were also caught and reluctantly paid the hidden charges, as did we. I suspect they keep customers outside so they can separate them making them easier to scam. "

" The main problem for scoring low, was the several issues with the car. 1, it wasn't handed over totally full of fuel 2, there was significantly more damage than the rental record showed and we only received this later by email, so couldn't complain at the time. 3, possibly due the the rear wheel arch damage, the car tyre pressure sensor kept telling us the tyre pressures were low. Had to check them every day. 4, car vibrated heavily between 110 and 130km/Hr possibly from poor wheel balance. We therefore lost confidence in the car but could only contact Dryyve by email which took 48 hrs to respond. On the plus side, you acknowledged our damage and fuel level photos and hand back of the car was easy and return of our 500euro deposit almost immediate. Our concern throughout the holiday was that we would have arguments on return as to what damage was original and what we may have done. Particularly as we had the Auto Europe insurance waiver and not the Dryyve full damage insurance waiver. "
