" Pre-booked a car at Düsseldorf Airport with Flex to Go. On arrival, the agent aggressively pushed their €299 "comprehensive insurance," claiming my included cover was "not good." When I refused, they doubled the security deposit from €600 to €1,200 and then refused my UK credit card because it lacked embossed numbers -- despite UK banks no longer issuing them. However, they were happy to accept the same credit card to purchase their insurance that they refused to accept for the security deposit. Aggressive upselling, misinformation, and obstruction. Completely unacceptable. I won't be using Flex to go again. "

The previous customer had left some sweets on the back seat and the car was not in pristine condition. The vehicle itself was of a high quality. Primarily the pre-authorization of credit cards for those in terms and conditions some customers felt they were being hard on by. " This was a replacement booking for one (with Sixt, voucher UK5218217 ) that I had to cancel because my earlier flight was cancelled. I could not get hold of Sixt at all on the morning of 20 May, and relied on AutoEurope letting Sixt know that I would arrive on a later flight. However, I was told that because the cancellation was at short notice, I would lose all money. As a long-time and regular customr I'm quite appalled at that poor level of service from both AutoEurope and Sixt, especially since you both had the flight details and knew the flight was cancelled. I request a refund for that booking. "

" The first person who we saw over the counter was very professional and helpful. However, the experience of receiving the child car seat was extremely negative and frustrating. Even though we pre booked it, the person was not able to assist us at all. The car seats were very dated and we weren't provided with any instructions on how to adjust the seat. Nowadays all car seat have isofix which makes adjusting the seat very straightforward. However, the car seats we were given were old and they didn't have isofix. The first one we received was broken, the second one did not have the right adapters we needed and the third one took us an hour to adjust due to lack of instructions. The unhelpful person behind the desk said it was not his issue and he was not allowed to help out, but didn't provide us with instructions wither. That is a safety breach as all manufacturers have a different system and not having the right instructions puts the child at risk. He was rude and could not have been less helpful. When asked if he could ask someone else in his team he refused and left the office. We spent quite some time looking for instructions online as we couldn't even see the model name and it was a very time consuming and frustrating experience which could have been avoided. "

" After being over charged for insurance for the car, the car was not in a good state when collected. I emailed customer services with pictures of evidence and received no reply when I dropped the car off I was told that the email had been received but not reply was done I was then told that a manager would call me back that day about the situation I did not receive a call back I was also told by the member of staff the car should not have gone out. Since then I've been offered a €35 refund and a free up grade when that will be impossible to use I don't have a Visa card I'm think the customer service we have received is terrible "

" This is the second time I have used this company as my previous experience was good. On this occasion we were pleased to be unexpectedly provided with a larger car than we had booked. When we attended in the pick up area we found that our vehicle had two superficial scratches on the front nearside wing which were not shown in the check out section of the vehicles paperwork that we had been given. I took therefore took photos of the damage on my phone and t as there were no Buchbinder personnel to be seen, I had to search for a staff member. Once located, said staff member examined the rental vehicle and updated my paperwork accordingly to show said damage. I then took possession of the vehicle and one week later returned the vehicle in the same condition that I had received it in. The staff member in attendance at this time was shown my amended paperwork when he examined the vehicle at the handover. A few days later I received a letter from Buchbinder stating that I was responsible for the aforementioned scratches to the vehicles paintwork and that they had deducted nearly £800 from my credit card for repairs. I am now in dispute with them and have had to send them the time/date stamped photos that I took and copies of the paperwork that was amended by their staff member. I am not happy at all and am still waiting for Buchbinders response. Be careful using this rental company and ensure that any small areas of damage to vehicle is reported and recorded before leaving the parking area. "

It appears the hire company can charge what they like for the insurance, and the bigger the car the more the insurance is. " I needed the car for an extra day, and Enterprise said it would be no problem as the car was available but I have to extend the booking via Auto Europe. When calling Auto Europe, they said it was not possible as their system did not have the car available, and offered to book a new reservation for the extra day but with a £1,200 deposit for the car. Absolute ripoff, and tried to fleece money out of me when I needed help. Never to be used again. "

" My comments above explain the experience, and even worse was that we had a fairly old car. It had scratches on it that were not on the original documents but which were added at the point of collection. Whilst driving the car, the engine management light came on, and when I emailed the collection desk at Düsseldorf, they simply replied telling me I should take it to my nearest Global office for inspection. They did not arrange for an emergency service agency to come and have a look. There is NO way that I shouldn't be expected to drive to them, when their vehicle was faulty. They should have either arranged an emergency or local garage to come and have a look, or arranged to bring out a replacement vehicle. Again another example of Global Germany, not caring about or contemplating customer service as an essential part of trading. "
" The experience here was in marked contast to the treatment we received in Vienna. We arrived earlier that we had booked the card for, we were told in no uncertain terms that the card would not be available for a further hour( or at our reserved time), There was no suggestion that it would be any sooner as we had arrived early, and we were also told that there were no other cars available even an offer of an upgrade, and in fact were told there was NO chance. The whole team on the check in desk was pretty surely and not in any way welcoming, or apologetic for needing to wait. We did try going back a little earlier than our hours wait, but we're again told to go away as the car would not be available any earlier as it needed to be cleaned. Eventually one of the team went over to the car park where cars are collected, and said he was going to collect keys. This took longer that the walk we had to make to eventually collect our car. The treatment here was very very poor, and customer service and welcome smiles are completely missing. I would NEVER, NEVER make a booking with Global/Buchbinder in Dueesldorf or in Germany. The way we were treated was awful, and someone should be told they need to go on some form of welcome/ customer service training. In contast our treatment in Austria was exemplary, and I would recommend Global to anyone in Austria, but NEVER in Dusseldorf, and in fact would recommend anyone who asked to avoid them like the plague "
