" Klass Wagen obviously scam a certain percentage of customers. And when I say scam, I mean big time F (word beginning with f & ends with d). Such as altering documents after you've left & refusing to record existing damage to the car. This is my true & witnessed experience. Yet my reviews keep getting taken down. So think about that too. We have rented from them a number of times and it's been fine, however our last experience was harrowing to say the least. Like a Jekyll and Hyde. As others have said if you refuse their extortionate additional insurance they turn on you. If you read this & think well lots of people have a good experience. I can only liken your attitude to that of someone in an abusive relationship. An abuser is an abuser. A shady business is a shady business. They don't just change. "

" Terrible! I was unable to pick up my car, due to a fine-print technicality. I hire a rental car three to four times per year and have never had an issue. On this occasion, Klass Wagon did not accept my credit card as my first name on the card is abbreviated to an initial. I accept that all agreements have fine print however if a matter is 'make or break' it should be an express term, particularly with such a common occurrence. I am aware that many credit card companies abbreviate names on cards as a security measure, so this matter should not be concealed within fine print. The counter staff did not exercise any discretion to allow a solution - I was able to show my online bank account which linked my credit card to my current account which uses my full name. This is convincing proof that the credit card is mine, however the member of staff was not willing to accept. I believe this is an intentional ploy to force customer to buy a more expensive rental package, and is a surreptitious tactic. The member of staff noted my credit card would be accepted for the more expensive insurance package, but not the package I had chosen. This refusal of service meant I had to take my family, including two small children to a hotel by taxi, and spend half of the next day travelling back to the airport to rent a new car. Of the three companies I spoke to at the airport, all three agreed the refusal of a car due to an abbreviated name on a credit car was absurd and underhanded. I will never book with Klass Wagon again, this has affected my confidence in AutoEurope, and I will be actively recommending against both. "

" The staff at AutoEuropa was very kind on the phone and quickly helped us book another rental with Dryyve which worked out smoothly and as expected. Based on our experience and online reviews, it's clear that Klass Wagen intimidates pre-paid voucher customers into paying excessive fees. If you refuse, they won't rent you a car. In our case, the additional charges were five times the original AutoEuropa rental agreement. "
" The rental company is a 4 km mini-bus ride from the airport. Upon arrival, they took our voucher and a €3,800 deposit, then repeatedly pressured us to pay €147 for scratch coverage. The agent warned that scratches as small as 1 cm cost €300 each and could be "easily found." We refused. They showed us a car in a poorly lit area, insisting there were no scratches and pushed us to sign a form confirming it. When we pointed out several scratches, the agent changed criteria, claiming only "deep" scratches over 10 cm counted, though we still found many. My wife then spotted a large dent in the frame, likely from an accident, so we started taking photos. The agent told us we couldn't take pictures before signing the agreement and refused to rent us the car. She rejected our prepaid voucher, refused to drive us back to the airport and asked us to leave. While we were on the phone with AutoEuropa to explain the voucher refusal, another agent, who had not been present during the car inspection, accused my wife of taking inappropriate photos of a 'sexual nature' in an attempt to intimidate us. Stranded 4km from the airport with our luggage, we had to get a cab at our own expense. "

" Notified AutoEurope by phone that we were running late for pickup- communication was not made clear that we had to take a transfer to Klasswagen office instead of AutoEurope office in the airport. At the Klasswagenshuttle pick up ,a transfer bus came after 10-15min wait only to be told our name was not on the list so we would not be able to board the shuttle. A second shuttle came after 10-15mins . The driver didn't communicate well - took our surname and we put our bags in the shuttle, only to find out there was no room for our group of three people , only one available . The only response he gave was WHAT CAN I DO!!! He did say I could leave my party and pick up the car of which I refused as the remaining party would get the next shuttle to Klasswagen. I didn't want to leave my family as it was very hot and they were frustrated and stressed. We got the next shuttle to Klasswagen eventually after 10-15 mins We were at the pick up point for 45 mins in total in very hot weather. Once at the Klasswagen office we had to wait 20-30 mins to be served. There didn't seem to be any sort of system for people waiting- The agent kept saying to me I should have had a smaller car as we only booked the car for 1 day . That unfortunately is none of his business as he didn't know what we would need the car for. Once the car was presented to us the agent told us the fuel was not a full tank of petrol but just under. After our journey I returned the car with a full tank of petrol- there was no one in the drop off office so I proceeded to the pickup office &the driver of the second shuttle bus was there . He apologised for the situation and told me a 10% discount was emailed to me for my inconvenience . I replied that this is not acceptable to me and I am very disappointed with the unprofessionalism and attitude towards paying customers. Was not impressed. "

When i got to the USave office they advised that the collection changed in early 2020, and that autoeurope had been advised many many times, but autoeurope have still not changed the information on the vouchers. " Absolutely top class. Norbit from SIXT was a legend! We hit a deer on the M7 during early hours on a Sunday and completely freaked out. Luckily nothing happened to the deer, but our car's front bumper, licence plate and engine hood was totalled. The engine hood wouldnt close and was partially blocking the vision of the car. Regardless, SIXT has been super helpful by staying on the phone when Police arrived to talk/translate and communicate the whole incident. Unfortunately breakdown services were away, so we tried to drive the car back to the drop off slowly and safely. " The pick us was really good, however there was only one person serving at the counter which resulted in a 20 minute wait, when we were finally served he told us the only problem with the vehicle was somebody stole the hubcaps which was entered on the form however on inspection of the car the rear offside light was clearly damaged and was then entered on the form, had I not checked the car this would have resulted in a problem on returning the car, in my opinion not checking the car properly by Usave could have resulted in being charged for damage which wasn't caused by use. " I do understand the pricing and selling strategy of a rental company perfectly. I am aware of the advantages of the full insurance which I decided not to buy. I was bullied and threatened by the agent who handed over the car to me because of this. This happened after midnight in front of my 3 children after an long journey. The way he tried to sell me the full insurance was terribly aggressive and intimidating, which I find unacceptable and made me very upset. He "politely" told me the facts how I am going to be left on the side of the road when I have an accident and how much this will cost me even if I have a simple damage on the car, etc. He questioned the relevance of my Excess insurance, he was insulting and degrading. I blame myself I did not check the company's policy more thoroughly and put myself in this situation. However I believe this should not happen to anyone. I learnt my lesson and hope Klass Wagen would treat its customer equally in the future, regardless the insurance. I understand 90% of them buy the full insurance so I assume the business is very successful and profitable. Everyone else was kind, respectful and fair. Thanks very much for that! "

" Had trouble with setting the GPS to english, took nearly 1 hour to get it sorted. 3rd time using megadrive, and always a satisfied customer but it seems no matter what car (or similar) you book, (we booked a Ford Focus or similar), you are always offered a skoda fabia! Or have the option to pay more and get a better car. My advise would be always book the most basic car then take the upgrade. "

Global did not inform me about this system and they were only assisting me with a very expensive service to open the door. At the end I've payed a different company to open the door. Later I couldn't amend the hiring and get it although there is a chance to amend the order but it's only for child seats, satnav, etc. Related to child seats I also didn't understand why they are as expensive to hire as the car. The car I hired was around 11£/day and two child seats would have tripled (!!!) the hiring fee. But apart from these the system works well and the prices are affordable. "

I asked them to make me main driver in that case but they said charge will remain even in that case. " I booked a car for three days (on the internet), for collection in Budapest, at what I thought was 12.00 (midday). When I arrived, the female clerk at the airport car hire desk told me I had booked the car for a midnight, and because I hadn't turned up at midnight, she had cancelled the reservation, and furthermore, I would not be given a refund. When I contested this, she showed me a copy of the booking email, which stated 00.00 hour pick-up. The email I received stated it was 12.00. A booking for 00.00 suggests the booking was made using a 24-hour clock. I had definitely booked it for 12.00. It also worth noting here, that the booking reservation they had at the hire desk, used the American dating system with the month preceding the day, so it looked as if I was having the car for three months. My booking was made using the European dating system where the day precedes the month. Obviously a confusion, however what happened next was unbelievable. Rather than acknowledge there was an error, a glitch or a simple confusion, and try and resolve the problem, I was very rudely told, "It's your problem. We have no car for you. Go somewhere else!" After several attempts trying to phone Auto-Europe, we finally managed to hire a car from Budget, some two hours later. For the record, the budget assistant could not believe the behavior of the woman at Auto-Europe, stating her actions as disgraceful. I would NEVER recommend your company to anyone. "

" Our flight was delayed by 1 hour arrived at 9pm were unable to get though on the hire desk number given on the paperwork to advise them. The desk was closed when we got there, we had to wait 2 1/2 hours for someone to return to the desk to give us our car and they then asked us to pay an extra £52 out if hours charge. I rang Auto Europe when first we arrived at the desk and they kept me waiting on the phone for 1 hour, I eventually hung up and rang back to be told the office was now closed. We arrived at the desk at 9pm and eventually got our car at 12 midnight and arrived at our destination at 1.30am tired and £52 our of pocket. Very poor customer service, no apologies from the car rental company and ruined the start of our holiday. "

" We've been using Auto-Europe for a long time, we've never had such a bad experience with any of AE's partners, unfortunately this was not the case this time. The Excess Amount advertised on the voucher was wrong and not respected by the rental company. "
" !!! DO NOT USE GLOBAL!!! The rental went smooth up to the point of the out of hours return, after which my wife received an email advising that they found damage on the vehicle for which they are going to charge us (EUR 985). We frequently rent cars and always check for damages, but we haven't seen anything when we inspected the vehicle upon return. The damage they reported were some scratches under the front bumper and some minor scratches on the mirror, which we found impossible as we only used the car on motorways and roads, with no damage during parking. The quoted prices for the assumed damages were also extortionate. Being regular car rental customers and us being 100% certain that we didn't damage the car, I did a quick search online, that quickly confirmed our doubts: this is a regular and frequent scam from this group of companies, with loads and loads of reviews online (TripAdvisor, TrustPilot, etc.) from people getting scammed for an under bumper scratch damage. As this type of damage would go unnoticed even for the most seasoned car rental regulars as well (I've never known anyone who checks for under bumper damages when taking a rental car), such damage can be claimed over and over again if not added to the check-in report. The Excess Damage of EUR 800 advertised also turned out to be per damage, and not per rental, which is completely opposite to what is advertised on the voucher. I understand that we're in an impossible situation, as without having taken a photo underneath the front bumper before the rental, there is no way to prove that we didn't damage the car, even though we didn't. We have a photo where the mirror scratch is not visible upon return, but it was returned out of hours, so they say it's our responsibility. We've been driving and renting cars for a long time, we also had unfortunate experiences with minor damages on a rental car (e.g. another cars damaging our rental while parking or a stone causing a chip on the windscreen), so we know when the car genuinely gets damaged and we're also aware of the process afterwards. This was not the case this time. Global / Megadrive / Buchbinder seems to have been doing this for a long time according to the above mentioned reviews. They are well protected with paperwork, everything is in the small print. Auto-Europe being a reputable, well-trusted company, such partners damage your reputation by association and is something I believe Auto-Europe should look into – we have always been happy with the companies Auto-Europe brokered us with, so this company does not deserve to be on the list. "

" We had to wait two hours for our car. Even after this time we only got one because I demanded to speak to the manager, who I actually couldn't. The staff at counter lied to us about the delay. They said the car we booked wasn't returned on time, however they told this to all customers. At least 12 of us were waiting for our cars. These girls were unfriendly and kept saying untrue reasons why we can not have our cars. They gave me the business card of the manager, who of course did not answer his phone. As it was Saturday, she said the maager is not contactable on weekends. We got a straight answer from the guy who handed our car over. The real reason was that the car wash broke down and they had to take the cars some other place, which was further away. Wouldn't have been easier for the company to explain this to us at the beginning? Probably they could have send me an email, which I could have read as soon as we landed. This could have had a voucher to the restaurant at airport so we can wait leisurely. Instead, all of us waiting were getting angrier and angrier. This manager has no customer sevice skills. He should be repromanded for his lack of managing. I also work in customer service, this is not how you treat paying customers. Please let me know if any follow up action was taken since this incident regarding the manager. "

Not impressed with having to wait for keys to be brought up by staff in car park on their way home and also having to wait for customer behind me to complete booking and receive keys. Picked up car finally and had to take photo of scratches, as no-one there to hand car over. At pick up small superficial scratch later quoted 508 euros repair. Excessive the least, especially as unless brand new, I never rented a scratch free car, which only suggests to me that these minor damages are never fixed, just charged for. Presumably same with all car rental, a way to make money in competitive market. I think if car rental offers later pickup, experience should be same as any other time. Can't fault staff, polite and as efficient as could be, process and cost of repair brings down rating. "

My only problem with the car was that I couldn't dip the headlights - it was very late when I picked the car up and so I had to drive in the dark, and people kept flashing me, so I assume the headlights were on full beam - I tried hard to adjust them without success. " The booking process was quite straightforward regarding the car. You make a request and then they confirm the availability. It still feels rather vague as to the car you are actually going to get. I still feel I never quite know what I've paid for regarding insurance, and then the insurance of the insurance and so on. I want to pay one price and know I'm covered in all eventualities but they seem to make it as difficult as possible to understand (Not just Auto Europe). The price was a good one and I don't think I could have done better. "
" The car we received was an upgrade at no extra cost. It was very comfortable and we had lots of space. I don't think I've ever known a company SO diligent about marks on the car. Some, on a door, were so tiny they were barely discernible and one, on a window, we couldn't find. It made us paranoid all week about any form of stone chip etc. i.e. something we could do little about. Also, I thought I'd paid for the additional insurance with my booking, but the Sixt operative couldn't confirm this.
