" It should not be possible to make and pay for reservations on AutoEurope that will not be honored by the individual company. Also I paid AutoEurope for insurance, and would like to receive a refund for that, separate from the rental fee at Hertz. I haven't yet contacted customer service at AutoEurope to request this because of all the hassle I've gone through with Hertz. "

When I went to pick up the car, the Hertz agent informed that I had been flagged as ineligible to rent from them, and he didn't know why. " I've hired numerous vehicles over the years and I'm not impressed with Hertz service. Sadly Firefly costs were very competitive but if I was your company I'd find another rental firm to use. "

As the total amount payable was not fully explained and when I got into Hertz; I was then told to pay a deposit. I dropped off the vehicle last Friday 11/10 and am still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. No other vehicle available. He spayed some air freshner. Tel Number provided by Hertz was not answered at all. Called 6 times on Sun July 7th. No response. On returning the car I made the office operative aware of our complaints. She was helpful and provided email address for manager. Email sent on July 14th. No response received as yet over a week later. "

" It took over an hour of waiting to get my car, and then the car I was given was seriously damaged--the clutch was broken. I had only ridden it a few blocks when it started to smoke and I had to bring it back to the rental office. It was both dangerous, toxic, and highly inconvenient. I was backing up traffic and could have been in a serious accident. I have filed a claim with Europcar (claim number 03206422) and I'm waiting to hear back from them in this regard. "

" The man at the counter who arranged our car told us it was a diesel car, but when we went to fill it up it actually took unleaded fuel.
