" I hope that Auto Europe can assist to sort this out. I have had 2 bad experiences with rental in South Africa through the vendors they use. "
" I was very unhappy with my rental experience. When I arrived to collect a car, there were no cars available. I had to wait an hour to get a car. Furthermore, I filled up with petrol just before dropping the car off at the end and have evidence of this on my bank statement. When I dropped off the car they said all was fine and I was asked to sign to confirm the rental was complete. I later received a copy and on it they had added refueling costs which were not needed as I had returned the car with a full tank. That cost was not returned with my deposit. I sent them an enail to complain but heard nothing back. "

" 2 weeks before returning the car, first rental phoned us up to change the vehicle. We gave them the car fully fuelled at plett and they drove it back to George and have charged us for fuel we did not use. To make matters worse, the2nd car that was supplied by them was refuelled at George and driven to plettenburg without being refuelled at plett. We then returned the car to port elizabeth with a full tank of petrol and we have sent them the receipts to prove it. But we have still been charged 215 rand. This is impossible. "

" Car however (Nissan) had anoying differential whine and the car alarm was not working. Both defects reported on returning car. (informed they would have changed the car at any time had I taken it to a branch). Overall very satisfied with the vehicle at the price and would definately use again without hesitation. Many thanks. " The car was exactly the type we ordered (Toyota Corolla Quest) but was the most basic of basic models. Absolutely no refinements such as USB sockets, cruise control, sat-nav and of course, the indicators and wipers are the opposite way around on a Toyota to most other vehicles which is a nuisance at times. The radio was touch screen but often we had to stop, turn off the ignition and restart the car, just to reboot the radio and make it work. The cost was value for money at less than £10/day so all in all, I was quite happy with the rental. "

" My only complaint was that I was under the impression I would be given a Renault Clio or similar, I got a Polo Vivo, which I really did not enjoy, personal preference.? Just a bit disappointed with the vehicle. Other than that, I would recommend Hertz. "

Car was returned early in identical condition as received (checked by drop off staff) but I now have a deduction of nearly £50 (900+ZAR) which I have no idea about. this needs to be resolved as I will not be paying it. One way drop off fee was paid at collection point. "

" The gentleman who helped me with the car was efficient. The problem was with the car. It was noisy and the heating system was not working properly. I had to travel long distances with aircon on to prevent the screen from steaming up. At some point my family had to use blankets to keep warm. "

" I was very impressed by the guy at CT Airport who checked in the car return. I explained that it had been damaged by a third party whilst parked. I had all the TP details and he helped me to complete the Accident form. He made the process very easy and assured me that your company would now chase the TP as all the details were available and they had admitted responsibility. He was excellent, very approachable and customer friendly. Good luck with the claim. "

" There were two of us and couldn't fit our suitcases in the boot thus having to leave luggage on the back seat. Not a good idea in South Africa! The engine was too small for the car and had no power to get up long hills Overall this was not what we wanted. "

" 2 issues with them ; 1) They provide a compulsory toll tax system where you are not charged at the toll gate, indeed you are not allowed to pay, however on your final bill you are charged the toll PLUS a 25 Rand handling fee ! 2) Returned the car full, cheching in man agreed it was full, then on final bill they charge you for topping up fuel, I called them after receiving a bill for less than 2litres (at pump prices) and they say they take the car to the garage to physically top up with fuel despite the reading being full ! Two small but annoying issues Rgds "
