I was late as the plane was delayed whilst I was already boarded so I could not call the hire company to let them know but they did have my flight details to track the flight arrival time. It was nearly 10pm by the time u got speaking with auto Europe I had 3 children who were tired from travelling and I was left in al stressful situation without a car. " The service works very well but is not quite as described. A silver minibus collects you from the kerbside in the covered parking area in front of the departures area of Carcassonne Airport and takes you to Auto Europe who are based near the railway station in Carcassonne, the journey takes about 10 minutes. Staff are friendly and efficient. The car was fine. Their system is that they photograph the car and e-mail you the pictures immediately ( You'll probably still be there). On return you take the car back to the same location, photos are taken again and sent to you with the originals - from the same angles. Then they take you back to the airport. Uncertain about using them initially but wouldn't hesitate to use them again. They seem busy. "

" Pick up was a bit stressful as we were delayed and we hadn't realised that they didn't have an office at the airport but they had a gentleman waiting for us so it took a while to find each other. The member of staff was extremely patient with us and he stayed on late for possibly an hour after the shop should have shut especially for us and was very kind. It took about 45 minutes to return the car as there was only one person in the office dealing with three different families and trying to sort all our cars and drop us at the airport. On arrival, I went to departures. No one there. I went to the depot where the rest of the car hire companies operate out of. No one there. Rang AutoEurope and they attempted to put me through to Sicily By Car but there was no answer. The AutoEurope customer services lady told me she was just googling to try and find another number. She then asked me to walk back to the car hire buildling and ask Avis, Hertz etc. The other companies weren't helpful and so she asked me to put them on the phone to her and she'd speak Italian to them (my holiday was in France). Eventually she tried the first number again and this time Sicily By Car answered. They then sent someone to collect us from the airport but we had to be taken to their office downtown. A unmarked van just arrived in the car park and someone stood next to it. I had to go ask if it was for us but the lady didn't speak English. It took over an hour after we landed before we were picked up and taken to collect the car. The kids were fed up by this point. Drop off was also meant to be at the airport but it wasn't. I had to drop off at their downtown office. However, on arriving at just gone 1pm I found out they were closed until 2pm. My flight was 3.45pm making handover of the car and then 10min taxi to airport very tight. They shouldn't advertise as airport collection and drop off as that is not a service they provide. "

" We were a party of 14 travelling and hired 2 minibuses from this company. I was one driver, my sister in law the other. When we picked up the keys, the counter staff gave us the wrong keys, i.e I received the keys for the van hired under my sister in laws name and she was given the keys for van hired under my name. Unfortunately, I broke the wing mirror on the van that I was driving and this exchange of keys only came to light when we returned the vehicles. Yes, we should have checked the contracts but they had already been placed in the vans and, as it was gone 11pm and had a fair way to drive, we were keen to get on the road (thank god we didn't have a more serious accident/incident). This kind of error is easily done but the potential ramifications are enormous. It's a shame because otherwise the service was great but an error like that simply should not happen. "

" I had difficulty getting in touch with the garage for the pick up as our flight was delayed and when I initially contacted on the number provided there was no answer. I had to ring the main booking number in the end who put me through to the garage to arrange our collection. I'm not keen on off airport pick ups, it's a bit of an inconvenience doing it that way so I probably wouldn't book this one at Bordeaux airport a second time. I did feel the car was meticulously checked before and after the rental and if my hub cabs had got a slight scratch I'd have lost all my deposit. It was just a feeling and I do accept that some cars come back in a state but I was very pleased to not get even a very minor scratch during the week on the car. "

It wasn't clear where we were to make contact at collection - I just guessed someone in a cabin might know Sicilian By Car and they did - by phoning them to come. However that location of Rent a Car was padlocked and on my return to the office when staff arrived they said that the notice was for van and lorry returns (!) : not clear at all The staff were helpful but I don't think they realise how stressful it is for plane passengers to have to struggle to do the basics. My flight back was at 16:00 and in France they are closing the office afternoon and open it at 16:00 Not the perfect option for Airport Car Rental. You can stay without car or be in situation that you cannot return it and no body will take you to the airport "
