" Had an email from Sixt claiming there was damage to the passenger door - have requested a photo of before hire and on return - as yet not received - suspect they are holding onto my deposit ? I do not have photos but when picked up did a check - no obvious damage Have witnesses to say we did not do any damage - for all but the journey to and from the hotel in Chamonix the car was stationery in a protected car park Was this claim made because I didnt take their extra excess insurance - my card covers me ? Waiting on a response from Sixt and will check next week to see if deposit held release. Frankly it smacks of sharp practice - strangely when checking with the credit card company the girl I was speaking to said her brother had a similar experience with sixt ? A coincidence - you have the statistics - maybe sixt hire should be qualified / always take photos of the all the car. "
