" The car pickup was not at the airport and required 2 shuttle buses to eventually get to their office. The extra protection I paid for to Auto Europe was not recognized by TopRent so had to pay even more to get full cover. The car had a fault on the steering which made it unpredictable to drive. Luckily I'm an experienced driver and wasn't speeding when the steering veered. I cut my holiday short to drive the car back and dropped it off a day early "

" An easy and smooth experience in collecting and delivering the car. From Auto Europe's website we expected there to be a Green Car kiosk in the airport terminal. There was none. We rang the company's number on the rental coupon that we had and a representative picked us up within 5 minutes and took us to their car pound off-site. This "diversion" in total added an unexpected 45 minutes to the start of our visit to Bulgaria. We were provided at a reasonable daily charge with a small GPS Garmin set which worked well. We would have welcomed being provided with a national up to date road map as more usually happens in our experience of car rentals. Also an information note on national and local speed limits and traffic signals/signage would have been helpful. "

" Only issue I had with the rental was that it took a long time to process all the rentals from the people in front of me. Generally with hertz I have the keys and am gone in less than 5 minutes sometimes. I spent about 40 minutes in the queue for them to process the 4 people in front of me. And then 10 mins to process my booking. If there was no one in front of me I guess it wouldn't have seemed that bad. But by the time I left the queue was massive. I felt sorry for the people at the back. Other than that everything about the rental was perfect. The staff were all friendly, it was cheap and the car was as described in a good condition. "

" Disappointed with the service received. First we had to call the car provider to be picked up from the airport not like was advised on the rental voucher we'll be waited in the arrivals hall. Then we were asked to pay 5 euros toll tax which doesn't match any road taxes in the country and wasn't t mentioned in the docs either. The provider failed to give any meaningful explanation for this change. The car we were given had technical issues. Headlights were not aligned and were miles away from where they should be. The fuel gauge was incorrect as we traveled 120 km and it was still showing full tank. A protective plastic was hanging underneath the car and was scratching any uneven surface we drove through. "

During all of that time, one of the staff was dealing with one family that kept asking more and more questions including where would be great to visit. it was probably the most frustrating experience ever picking up a rental car... " The car was a very basic Dacia. They did not have anything else, or at least that is what they said. No cruise control. There was a hole in the left rear light showing white light. When I pointed it out the reply was "ah this is Bulgaria" I had to pay for the "Vignet" or motorway tax. Normally the provider does that. Not a lot at 15Leva but still a cost to put in the overall picture. The pick up is off airport but no problem at all. Quick pick up and delivery back to the airport. "

" On arrival at the airport to return the car, I was met with a man in a van, along with 6 other men in the back of the van that all came out and asked me for the keys, this was intimidating. I asked them to show me ID, and one man showed me the documentation. He checked the car over then informed me that there was a scuff on the front left underside of the bumper. This was not in view unless you physically got onto the ground and looked under the car. During the car collection, he gave me a piece of paper highlighting damage to that area of the car, which I have a dated photo of from the 7th March. The car was used to travel from Sofia airport to Bansko where it was parked outside my hotel for one week until I drove the car back to the airport. They took my credit card on arrival and took a photo of it, I do not appreciate this breach of my personal data. Following a discussion in which I informed him that this area of damage was highlighted on the original paperwork and that I would not be paying for existing damage, he said ok, you can go. I left the car, he had taken the paper with the existing damage off me and I proceeded to the airport. Once home, I checked my credit card and released that they had taken £522.86. On the 7th March they took £224.24 as a deposit that I should have got back after returning the car with no new damage. In total they have deducted £747.10 from my account. £522.86 of this without my permission. This is fraud I am totally disgusted by this company and the lack of professionalism. He took the paper with the original damage off me but I have the photo, I feel like this is all a big scam with the use of intimidation. It took 2 hours from the time of landing to leaving the airport with the car. I have now lost £747.10, to which I expect a full refund. I will be taking this further, with complaints to the Bulgarian authorities, Add Car, social media and on all reviews where Add Car is advertised on any failure to repay my costs in full. Never have I received such intimidating fraudulent treatment. I have now had to cancel my credit card to stop any further payments being taken without my permission from this company. No documentation was provided to me by the company when the car was handed back, no invoice, no damage receipt, no explanation of the costs. Absolutely disgraceful. I have emailed the company and they have replied with "Enclosed please find complete documentation regarding the charge for the damage on the front bumper". I have the invoice for the damage on a form that they made me sign in the airport when I collected the car. "

When I arrived at the counter to collect the rental car rather than block my credit card for the €300 deposit, I was actually charged to my credit card €460...fully charged not a block. On returning my car after a week the counter staff managed to find damage to the underside of the front bumper. The only place that I did not check with the counter staff when I picked the car up!. This aside, as I did not have my rental voucher with me to read and so I was not sure of the procedure, I was then charged a total of approx €1,850 for the damage directly to my credit card. I should have been only charged the insurance excess of €300. All in all I feel that I have been conned by the counter staff who should well know the full procedure, so avoid ADDCAR, their prices are cheap for a reason! "

Made me sign a form with blank spaces, which I photographed to prove the boxes were empty when I signed it. Rental agreement states 'full to full' but each time the tank is only part full and I end up returning it with more in than I received at pick up. "

It was then I started to phone Autoeurope.co.uk to complain. I was then immediately informed that an automatic car will be ready for me to use in 10 minutes. " Thank you for trying to broker my car hire in Bulgaria. Unfortunately, when they say something is too good to be true, it usually is. And this certainly was. Under £70 for a 7-day hire of a 9-seater. How can they run that at a profit? Well it seems, their way of doing it is to magically find that your credit card for the deposit is not working... and offer to make a new booking with someone else in your party as the 'lead driver' using their credit card. Whilst initally indicating we'd get the same car at the same price, the £120 for a 7-seater didn't match that hype (there were 3 adults and 3 x 7-8 year olds, plus luggage in our party). I contacted my credit card company there and then, and there had been NO ATTEMPT to take money from the card - so the issue was that their machines did not connect, not that my card was blocked - was the card reader disconnected? Was it even plugged in? What i got was an instant lack of connection, with no delay before i was told that "the card wasn't working"... well, the message was in bulgarian, so might have said, "please plug this machine into a working socket", for all i know.... Arriving in Sofia at 22:00 and still over an hour's journey to Borovets, they knew that we were in a bind. But not given to blackmail, we queried this and at that point, the representative went super-snowflake on us, and refused to deal with us anymore - including refusing to refund the money we had paid (again, after initially indicating that we would get a full refund). In the end we had to get a £90 transfer from Sofia to Borovets (for four days of skiing), then had to hire another car for the last three days (touring to Rila and Sofia), at a cost of £109. As a reputable broker, i would ask that you contact AddCar on our behalf and, at very least, get our refund for the hire that we paid for. However, I would ask that you attempt to recover the losses above and beyond the initial £67 that the hire should have cost, to compensate us for the inconvenience of the whole episode. "

I had some vandalism damage during my rental period and I was told their 'all inclusive' package would not have covered it. " The car was in an extremely bad state - an old battered piece of junk. Not road worthy by an standards whatsoever! The following issues were faced by us: We had to jump start the car practically every day as the battery was DEAD! The steering wheel was unstable and made constant clicking noises There was constant squeaking from the rear suspensions There was no windscreen wash and we had to pull over every 20 mins to clean the windscreens with bottled water It was an automatic car with a malfunctioning transmission, we drive automatic cars so know this from experience! Finally the car had clocked 132k and I was told that in Bulgaria there are no MOT tests as far as the car is concerned! The fuel in the car was less than half which made it extremely difficult to return with the same level - hence ended up giving them more fuel! I have been renting from you guys for years and and have never come across such an experience as you have always rented from reputable renters - so this was a huge surprise!! I am extremely disappointed and with 3 young kids this was a living nightmare. When we reported these issues to the car rental company they refused to help and said they had no other cars to give us!! I cannot believe that Auto-Europe does not vet the rental companies you do business with! You guys put all our lives at risk!!! The only reason we have always booked through you guys is because of the reliability and trust we placed in you - you have totally ruined that for us - you are no different than the hundreds of rental companies out there set-up to con people! I would like someone to get in touch with me please and let me know what you can do now to retain me as a customer. " As far as I can understand there was no doublecheck that CAR 1 had indeed received our booking via AUTOEUROPE. all is automatic computer exchange and the system failed somewhere. A I have contracted AutoEurope, I held you responsible for this failure. I had to call the help desk 3 times to get somebody who 1 transferred me to the supposedly CAR1 agency but the number was wrong and secondly never came back to us to inform us of the progress of the resolution of our issue. " Total disaster. First of the car was so not the one I ordered, I asked for a Renault Clio and was given Dacia Sandero. Second I asked for a navigation and was given one that did not have accurate maps in it , resulting in loss of valuable time, stress and confusion. Also the navigation kept switching itself off. When I approached the staff about it they said and I quote ' Ooh it is just the navigation. If you have any complaints just write and email..'. The car was in a very dirty condition when it was brought to me. But due to the very small window of time I could not spend time to argue. Not knowing Sofia Airport I hadn't realised that T1 was not by T2, and the being an evening landing the shuttle bus between terminals was finished (I was told). The process to collect the car was simple and quick, the car was a brand new Opal Corsa (16km on the clock) and returning the car was hassle free also. " Voucher: UK3275341 There was no agent from TRC waiting for me in the airport. I had to find alternative transport to get to TRC office. Whilst in their ofice I had to wait 40 mins. before I was attended to. Then TRC changed the terms and conditions of my rental and wanted me sign another insurance policy. TRC would not let me have the car If I hadn't agreed with these terms and conditions and agreed to a block on my bank account wich is still blocked today.TRC staff were extremely unhelpfull and unproffessional and the delay (90 minutes) in obtaining the car caused me considerable inconvenience. "

" On arrival at Sofia airport I contacted Top Rent to be told that our reservation had been cancelled Following which I contacted Auto Europe and was on the phone for over 30mins while things were sorted out (no idea how much this has cost me yet) in all from arriving at Sofia it was about 1 hour sorting out what I thought had been arranged in March. Once we had the car all went well good car and on return Top Rent transferred us back to airport without any problems. "

" Sofia Enterprise is below rubbish. The car had no fuel in it when we picked it up meaning we had to find a garage 1st thing! It had bad damage to the bumper and loss of fog lamp. As for how it ran well let's just say I have never driven a car this bad.! The service is also in terminal and British flights go to terminal 1 meaning we had to get a taxi each way at 20. Make sure you have cash or you have a 4 k walk "

" The car supplied was ok, but I would suggest that you do not use them; it will damage your reputation. When returning the vehicle they accuse you of damage that already existed on the car & then want you to pay for this damage. This has happened on the last 2 occasions i.e. during Sept/2013 & Dec/17 to 07/Jan/2014 Never again will I use Europcar, they spoiled the end of our, what had been a very enjoyable holiday "
