    Bergamo and the Italian countryside

It's no secret I'm especially fond of Italy. For many reasons, but it just has a special place in my heart. My favourite thing in that beautiful country apart from the food, the wine, Florence and the magnificent usage of gestures to express oneself is the countryside. The perfect setting to explore while slowly driving your car hire in Italy around, taking your time, with all the comfort... and absolute disregard of watches.Oh, I love the Italian countryside! The lush green landscapes, the fabulous lakes - I've written here about my favourite - and the people I've met there: purest of heart, welcoming and adepts of the simple life, of the sweet, sweet life.

I've been around a few places in Italy, but a specific area which countryside always fascinates me is Lombardy. Sitting at the Northern heart of Italy, it has a few marvelous cities around: Milan - one of my favourites where a few good friends live in, Turin and Bergamo. Now, Bergamo is a fabulous city located right by the foothills of the Alps. Divided into the Upper City or 'Città Alta' - a medieval town on the hilltop surrounded by Venetian walls built in the 17th century) and the Lower City, or 'Città Bassa', where the modern city centre now lies, make sure you drive your car hire to Bergamo, a tourist destination you can't miss if you're travelling through the North of Italy.

You can drive your car hire to Milan, but don't forget to take your time and make a small detour to see that lake I've mentioned before with your own eyes. You simply won't regret it!
