I had to call different people and waited for almost 45 minutes (messed up my holiday plan). The fuel tank was not full as agreed. The person dropped the car asked for 50EAD instead of 20. They just need to improve their customer service to be on the same level as other providers. "

Then I had join a massive queue for the Budget desk at T1 arrivals, after being verified and signing the docs I had to then make my way to T1 departure - only to wait even more for them to handover my rental car. The whole process took nearly 3 hours!!! Massive disappointment considering its Dubai Int airport and would expect better process "

" Picking up the car took almost an hour at the desk in the terminal (most of the time queuing) plus another 20 mins at the pick-up desk by the car park. They had emailed a link to pre-register a few days earlier which I completed and thought that would make the process quicker but they didn't even use that system so I'm not sure why they bothered emailing it to me. During the rental I did some minor damage to the car not involving any other vehicles. On drop-off they said I needed a police report but didn't explain why and they didn't tell me that there was a Dubai Police app that I could have used to file a report. Had I known that I would have done that straight away while still in the airport. They also insisted that without the report I'm liable for the full cost of the damage rather than the excess (an argument which is still ongoing). "

" I arrived at the Dollar desk at 7:30am for a booking starting 08:30am. They religiously made me wait 1 hour until 08:30am to even look at the booking. Later I found out that a staff shift change happened in that hour, hence the reluctancy to deal with my reservation close to shift ending. The Staff tried to change contract terms and tried to apply an excess on my Zero-excess rental. They were very insistent. They also applied a deposit of AED 3000. The car booked was not available so they gave me a smaller car instead. I had guests to take with me and the whole rental was to fit us all with luggage. clearly this changed our plan and we had to spend considerable additional money on taxis...etc On returning the car, no space to park the car, kept going in a loop. 3 staff members in the Dollar cabin and none of them cared to come out and assist. overall, not a good experience. The guy had no customer service skills and just said we needed to contact our service provider Autocars. The service provider could not have been more helpful. She spoke to the EUROPCAR representative who did not want to know, he just kept refusing to acknowledge that we had a confirmed reservation that was prepaid. Eventually, he called someone in EUROPCAR Abu Dhabi who confirm that they actually did have a car for us. The problem was within EUROPCAR, not our supplier. Buy this time we had been waiting almost 2 hours and only changed the situation because we had instigated calls to our suppliers contact centre in the USA. We did not even receive the slightest indication of an apology from the EUROPCAR representative in the Rotana Beach Hotel. Extremely poor customer service. "

" Someone had hit our car in a car park yet we weren't given details of local police to report this but took images. Thankfully I had taken images of the car when I took it as the seats inside were completely stained and they then tried to claim we had done it and would need to pay for the repair. Once I showed my images they proceeded to say they still think I did it but will let it go which was infuriating. They charged us around £140 for a scratch that we did not cause and had numerous hidden charges. The car was in a terrible condition but managed to get us from A to B. They also charged us £50 to use my SISTERS credit card to hold the payment even though she had booked and paid for the whole rental. Absolutely appalling. Ended up paying the fee of the car twice with all this trickery and lies. Take photos of the car inside and out st all times and make sure you have local authorities number! "

" Having booked and paid for an insurance upgrade and choosing to use Budget for the first time I expected a hassle free experience Instead what I went through was the most appalling lack of customer service I have ever encountered in my 35 years of hiring cars Unfortunately on arrival at the budget office I did not have a credit card but I feel that was no reason for the representative to be as offensive as he was I was forced to pay another euro 787.60 for no reason which apparently will be returned in 10 working days and then another euro 500.60 which will be returned in 40 working days with no explanation and only a pen scribble on a receipt as proof On collecting the car I pointed out that a tyre was badly scuffed and I was sure flat but was told there was no problem as it was not flat On driving away I found that the radio control switch had been broken for the next two day I had to constantly stop to put air in the faulty tyre and could not use the radio When I eventually gave up and took the car back Ishtar who had given me the car, said he knew the radio switch was broken and had been for several months before I recieved it Apparently it is Budget policy to monitor the damage on cars 3 times prior Yama who seemed in charge who was the one who said originally the tyre was ok then accepted the tyre was flat said none of this debacle was my fault and gave me a different car So now I am waiting for Eur 1287.60 to that you have of mine and an apology for the disgraceful service "

It ran out of battery after staying a few hours on the beach and the engine didn't start). We spent more than 1 hour trying to call the hotline but nobody answered the phone call. We were forced to take a taxi and go directly to the Payless (Budget) office. Due to this breakage we lost more than 3 hours and changed our plans for the day (when my wife had a Birthday and we wanted to visit a few places). On the drop-off day the Payless (Budget) agent was trying to charge us additional money for the fuel. I would like to explain this in a few words: we picked up the car with the 7/8 fuel level. When the first car broke down, the fuel level was 5/8. The replaced car had the same fuel level (5/8). On the drop-off day we returned the replaced car with the same fuel level at which we picked up the first car (7/8). The agent insisted on that we returned the first car (that broke down) with not full tank. I said that it was not my fault that the car broke down, but I picked the car with the 7/8 fuel level and returned it with the 7/8 level. When I threatened to make a complaint about this, the agent removed the extra fuel fee and provided me the final drop-off invoice. The most awful experience ever and I don't recommend to rent a car from Payless (Budget). At least in UAE (Sharjah). P.S. As explained to me the Payless company was taken over by the Budget company. In addition, after talking to some of the staff, they said the CDW insurance is fairly useless and you must call the police if you notice even the slightest damage as the the insurance is not valid if not accompanied with a police report. The whole experience was utterly dreadful in fact. When you're left tired and vulnerable in a new country where the English is not the best - Transparency is key. This experience was far from transparent and I will not recommend. I have always used www.rentalcars.com and only used auto europe as the price was more competitive - I was very wrong. So in all I am very disappointed with all the extra costs and feel that some sort of compensation is in order for the lack of transparency and distress caused using the experience. "

From the point I picked up the car I knew this had a potential to be a bad experience. Janis was probably the most rude member of staff I have come across, the vehicle was in an appalling condition covered in scratches. We asked for a walk around and when we started pointing out the scratches he threw his hands up in the air and said "I'll be here all day if I mark down all the scratches". He said "I know all the marks on this car, when you come back I'll be here"... he wasn't. He then refused to set up the sat nav and got somebody else to do it. On drop off we experienced the same unfriendly experience and they took the rental agreement off us and wouldn't offer us a customer copy. "

We were then offered to either take the Sunny or take the Hyundai Accent which was located around 10 minutes drive from the airport. The staffs kept telling us to take the Sunny probably because it was easier for them to give rather than having to drive to the other car. We said we wanted the Hyundai and the staffs all told us that we would be able to get another car the next day as soon as one becomes available. The condition of the Accent was poor, dirty and had a lot of scratches everywhere. We were again told to call the next day to arrange for another car. However the next few days after picking up the car, we called several times during the day where we were either told nothing was available or they weren't sure what we were talking about. We were given other branches to contact but in vain. Eventually we gave up as we spent so much on calling using our international sim. They should atleast clean the car so it is in a good condition "

We would not have booked with you if we knew that there was not a desk. It was very stressful and cost me a lot of money in phone calls and we alsothen had to cal them several times to arrange for the car to be collected at the airport and again we had to wait, we could not find the man and it was not clear wher to go, very very frustrating "
" We arrive at the terminal after a long que at passport control and looked for the National Car hire Kiosk Desk at the meet and greet area only to find that there wasnt one and so we made our way to the car rental place in terminal 3 to find that there was no National desk anywhere. I then had to call the number on the voucher and I was told that rep had been waiting since 19.30 and had left because he couldnt find usafter waiting for an hour. Our flight did not land until 19.45 anyway and we would have to go through passport control and collect our luggage whcih would take between 30 - 60 mins. The man on the other end of the phone kept saying he could not hear me I had to phone him several times, it cost me a fortune and we got car 21.15 "
" Upon arrival my flight was delayed which means you would assume the vehicle would be prepared and ready. The car was late. On collection the car was as requested a non smoking vehicle. The car had a terrible smell of stale smoke despite the non smoking sticker on the dash board. The car had to be exchanged the next day in Dubai as it was not acceptable or bearable. Upon exit of Abu Dhabi airport car park I was issued an exit ticket which did not work as it had AED 175 owing on the ticket. I was told by the staff to just explain to the car park attendant and he would allow me to exit. A further delay. The service was poor to say the least, the cars were dirty not well presented with parcel shelf broken which meant luggage exposed. "
" The comments above relate to Dollar. I would never use them again and I travel constantly and hire cars on a regular basis. At least 3 weeks a month and this was the first and will be the last time. "

" Horrendous is an understatement to say the least I was kept waiting for over 2 hours for a car to be delivered from another branch as the car I requested had an expired license. A service manager from the Bur Dubai branch was delivering this replacement car with another driver but when asked where they were they lied about they're location so many times that I ended up getting my 360AED oman insurance for free as an apology. If they had just said at the start the car would not ba ready for 2 hours that would have been fine but for the fact that they constantly lied for 2 hours was just not very professional. I would not hire from Go again and certainly would not recommend them to anyone. "
" Auto Europe site is clear and easy to use. However it may be useful to see feedback from clients on the rental company and the specific rental office as these can differ between locations within the same group. I would like to have something more than cost in order to judge car hire services; eg quality of car, quality of service, effectiveness at dealing with issues. "
" Initial car was high mileage, with one major dent and a number of smaller dents, scratches, and panel misalignment, along with interior trim hanging off. No alternative was available at the airport but a change out was promised within a one hour window the next day; when it didn't arrive it took a number of phone calls and broken promises before it was eventually changed out eight hours later. The replacement car was what I would expect of a reasonable car hire. "
