It is necessary to call the number on the booking sheet and they come and pick you up and take you to the car location. It is a short distance away so not a big deal but it is advertised as IN TERMINAL so quite confusing/disconcerting on arrival with no sign off an ABC desk. I was also dissapointed to be charged 10 euros to have the car 'cleaned' when I returned the vehicle to the parking lot. " The car they gave me was fairly new but already had a number of scratches and chips in the paintwork but they had only highlighted a few on the sign off paperwork. When I inspected the car I took 25 photographs of damage that they had not highlighted. When I returned to the drop off the Rep immediately went to a particularly large scratch that wasn't on the paperwork and tried to claim I had done it - until I held my phone up with the picture I had taken of it at pick up. "
" Part of the reason I selected this car was because on the booking page it said the puck up office was "On Airport" but it is about 2 miles off airport to their puck up point and they don't even have an office on airport meaning I had to faff about getting my UK phone to work as soon as I landed in order to ring them to come and pick me up. When we got in the car we were greeted with numerous warning lights. One was the tyre pressure monitor and the other was in Croatian. The next day we managed to change the language and found that it said the car required a service and oil change. I went to check the tyre pressure and all tyres were not at the limit they should be. 2 days later the tyre warning lights came on again for the right rear passenger side. I went to check the pressure and it had deflated again. This happened every 2 days and required me to inflate everytime. When paying a lot of money for a vehicle it should be in a condition where a device is due or tyres not inflated and checked over before it is sent out again. This was an ongoing issue and concern especially when driving over 100km to get to our destinations . "

" I booked with Auto Europe for an car hire located at Zadar airport. When I arrived I was told we had to phone and wait for someone to pick us up and take us off site. Once there, we were told we had to pay extra for a car wash and extra £60 for a late pick up fee. All of these were small print hidden extras. I had to pay nearly as much again on extras as what I had already paid to hire the car. I won't be using ABC or Auto Europe again for car hire "

" Whilst this was advertised as onsite airport pick up , it is not at the airport itself. You need to ring them and they come and collect you. It's just a few minutes drive away but is advertised on Auto Europe site as go to desk at airport- warning there is no Carjoy desk. " We arrived 15mins after are scheduled arrival time, but I had supplied the flight number on booking so didn't think this would be an issue. On exiting the very small Zadar airport, there were lots of boards with names on them, but sadly none of them were mine. I read my instructions provided and proceeded to the car rental stand outside of the airport. No signage for Enjoy Rental Cars, so I asked other established companies if they knew where they were located. They had never heard of them! They kindly asked if I had a number and I checked my email from yourselves but that was just your number based in UK. They googled the name of the company provided to me by yourselves but nothing was listed in that name in Croatia let alone Zadar. It was suggested that the only thing to try do was wait at the collection point for off site rental collect from that area and to read the mini buses coming through. So we sat there for over an hour, in the baking heat of 40C in UK heavy clothes. Exhausted and thirsty we gave up and returned to the terminal and rang your customer help line number. I explained to the customer service agent what had happened. He popped me on hold and when he returned to the call, he said he had spoken to the company, given them my mobile number and they would be with us in under 10 mins and will ring me when at the airport. I asked him for the direct number for the company, which he gave me. So again we went outside in heat and watched car on car drive past until a further 25 minutes had elapsed and I was at breaking point. I rang the number given me for the rental car company but it was incorrect, worried it was my phone I asked a car rental employee to ring it as the automated response was in Croatian. They confirmed no such number. So back in to the airport to ring your CS in the UK once more. This different gentleman was a lot more helpful and spoke English as his first language so I finally got transferred through to the rental car company itself. They took my number once more, as they said the one given by first customer service staff was incorrect. (I thought oh yeah, mine too) It took them 15 mins to collect us and were very nice giving us cold water and turning up the AC as we were red as berries by now and very dehydrated. Collection for the car was about 9 mins from airport in a area called Babindub and the company mention on the voucher Car Joy was not there, we picked up our car from Surprise rentals. I was very suspicious at this but would have taken a car from Satan himself at this point. Especially as the owner of the apartment we were renting had rang me 3 times to ask what time we were arriving as had been waiting hours with the keys. You REALLY need to sort this out and add the correct telephone number & name for the rental company your are an agent for. We spent 2.5 hours trying to find this company plus 30mins speaking to two of your agents, one who was an idiot and couldn't get a number written down correctly. I would appreciate your feedback to the situation, an apology and a little compensation for my time and phone call charges as I am a simple PAYG user on my mobile. I await your response before I leave my reviews of your company. I know things can go wrong in life, but the quality of a company is shown how you deal with them. "

" The only comment i would make is that when i booked i made sure it was a company that said location "inside terminal". Our flight was late and we got out of the terminal at 01:00 and couldnt find the booth. After asking people and wandering around my wife found the paperwork and switched off flight mode to make a call. They arrived very quickly and took us to their site which was only 5 mins away by car but we would not have found in the dark. WE just wish we had been aware of this in advance. When we dropped it off, we were asked to prove that we had not caused the damage. We took a number of photos when we picked the car up but this was after 10pm so in the dark. They omit to record onto their system some of the damages they observe with you when they marked them up on a sheet and don't leave you with a copy of that record. " Hello, I would like to make a complaint about my experience using Air rent a car. When we returned the car the lady who served us was rude & desperately looking for any type of fault with the car going so far as to even check under the car. She then tried to peel away a flap that would have been impossible for us to damage & was clearly wear & tear. She said she wouldn't charge us for this but should & then told us she would now close the contract & the deposit would be placed back & an email sent. I never received the email, until I phoned the company last Friday because I noticed they took another amount of almost £300, when we had never received a receipt or knew about this amount being taken from the card. After I spoke to the lady on the phone she said this was a mistake & that it would all be refunded by this Monday gone. She said she had sent an email with the closing deposit, then came another email with that..this one was for "damages". We never knew that we would be charged an amount for damages without us being present. She then sent a text to confirm what my question was & sent me two receipt pictures that she had taken with her phone, these receipts now showed time stamps on them so I knew the damages amount was taken whilst I was not there. I then explained via text that this amount is clearly taken when we were on the airport waiting to go through security & they have deducted an amount without us being present & for which we didn't receive a receipt for. After this she never responded again. I checked my bank account & can see that from today the deposit is not pending but the other amount has still been taken out. This is just ridiculous. I have a video I took on the day before we drove it away so I could record all faults with the car & it clearly shows that flap was loose & is nothing to do with us using it. I also checked Google reviews & this same thing happens to every single renter of this company, I don't know how they are still doing business & continuing to scam people by using their bank information to take more money out. What can be done for me to have my money back? They never respond & it's frustrating, this is fraud! "

" I had a difficult to get the car in Zadar Airport because the guy who was at 'Air Rent a car' on 22nd august 10.30 am insisted that the deposit to be blocked in my credit card was €1,875 instead of €1,475 (according was written in the voucher) and also it was the amount I was prepared to pay. I had the voucher with me and appointed to the part where it was written about the deposit but he was irreducible. I've suggested to him that my husband's credit card could be used as a deposit of the €1,875 in order to take the car and go to my destination. However, he told me he couldn't accept his credit card unless I'll add him as a 2nd driver, paying €40 for this inclusion (even he doesn't have a driving license what I've informed to the receptionist in advance) and buying full insurance (more €175). The customer service was doing OK in the beginning however when this problem came up he became moody, rude and ignoring me when I was talking to him. If you are nice and polite only when things are perfect you are doing nothing. Customer service should be efficient to give alternatives and present solutions when the difficulties come up. Then, I've called to auto-europe in order to get some help and I was informed that if I'd buy 'their' full insurance the deposit should be €200 and I could use my credit card. I've come back to the reception and I've offered this solution what he agreed. After that, we went to the car park to get the car. There were many scratches and damage outside the car and it was only this one left to us without any other option. At the end of the day, I've paid for their full insurance what was nearly the same amount I've paid for the rental (what it was unexpected) to get a damaged car and had time spent in unnecessary discussion. It was not the best way to start a holiday. I was very disappointed. Fortunately, the return was fast and easy as we didn't have any other problem (different people at the reception). However, I'm not sure how would be managed if it happened. I wasn't happy at all. "

" It was a very budget price for the hire so were expecting a basic offer. The car itself was ok, reasonably clean and tidy which was fine for the price. It did what we wanted , which was a car for a day to travel to a specific meeting in a nearby town. We were not looking for luxury. We visit Zadar regularly and know our way around and found the office easily but if you were a first time visitor it would not have been a great experience. The tiny office was not manned when we arrived, and the pick up/drop off is a car park a few minutes walk away . OK for us but perhaps not ideal if you are on holiday with luggage. When we phoned the number on the office door the local agent soon arrived. Later in the day we called her to ask if we could extend the hire for another day and she was quite impolite and didn't call back as she said she would. In the end we made other arrangements. As I say we are aware that the Croatian way of customer service varies from business to business and we have had great and dire experiences in the past. This was not at the better end. You get what you pay for so we will probably go back to using a better known brand next time "

" the car we were provided with was covered in marks. they had actually used a marker pen to highlight the areas of problems, the car should not have been used for hire purposes until all the problems were sorted. When i returned the car they then debated a further mark which was not actually a mark. In my opinion the fact the car had so many marks was leaving you open to issues. i had asked about another car at the time but was told they had none and it would cost me more for another car "

" They give misleading information on your booking forms with the rental company. Which then leads you into a late arriving fee as soon as you land. The info on the paperwork will tell you the company is open all day umm wrong you will get a late fee any time after 9pm my original pick up time was 10pm but after a late flight arrived at 11:01 to be told it would be €50 late fee for being 1 minute late. My original booked time of pick up was 10pm but after a late flight arrived at 23:01 to be charged £45 by car Wiz for being late by 1 minute. Auto Europe states on the paperwork at carwiz is open all day. Regardless of the fact that I was late we would have still been charged a late fee on my original time of collection as they such at 9pm but once again auto Europe state on the paperwork they are open all day. Be wear of this company it feels like a con to make quick money out of you at the airport. The car I was given had alot more damage on it then first written down on the rental agreement. To which I was told don't worry we only look for the deep stuff. Umm no as another customer was being charged for a small underside mark. I would not recommend this company they seem like sharks "

I was advised that the nearest one was 30km away and, therefore, I had to either risk losing my flight or pay the excessive refuelling charge. Having chosen the former, as one would in those circumstances, I was advised by staff in the airport that the nearest open petrol station was only 5 minutes drive away and only between 4-5 kilometres from the airport. I was deliberately lied to for their personal gain! "
