" The car was a Renault Clio with a push/ pull button brake. I had a lot of problems on day 1, with hill starting as no one bothered to tell me I needed to activate a button just below the brake to cure the problem. "

" I have frequently used Auto Europe whom I have always found to be helpful and efficient. I hope there is a successful outcome to my above problem. "

" Within minutes of picking up the car a warning light came on which the following morning I discovered indicated a problem with the tyres. I went immediately to a garage where they were checked they all needed air. I was not able to reset the warning light. Five days later 28 August I go for petrol where the person points out that the nearside front tyre is flat. A mesh repair was carried out following the removal of a piece of wood. I tried without success to contact the emergency number. On 31 August the warning light came on again. I drove one hour directly to Bergerac airport not stopping to fill the car and after some difficulty the car was exchanged. I have now received an invoice from Hertz for £235.18. I spoke to one of your very helpful people about this on 13 September and the matter is being taken up with Hertz. I firmly believe that the tyre was faulty with a slow puncture before I took delivery and none of the tyres had sufficient air. "

" Have used Autoeurope lots of times without issue, good rates, sadly terrible experience with Enterprise, will avoid at all costs in future. "

" WARNING: Do not hire a car with Enterprise without spending an hour to do a full check inside and out and take photos of everything. Charged €1,500 for a trim that was unclipped by 5-10mm, and only visible after door was opened not at time of collecting car. The tablet/system didn't record all of the damage prior to collection and so inability to prove/disprove damage, and no recourse to discuss or take a customer service approach to resolving. Forced to accept a huge fee on pre-authorised credit card which is simply extortion. Avoid Enterprise even if you have excess insurance. "

" 0verall ok .On arrival temp was 28c. My wife and baggage escorted to car with engine running and a/c going ,a nice touch.I completed paperwork went to car, engine running and drove away.After about 10k missed a turning,stopped an switched engine off. Couldnt restart car.Tried contact numbers,no success.Walked to a Citroen dealer,no help.Back at car my wife melting in the heat couldnt raise help. Luckily a lady coming out of her house drove me back the airport where Alamo/Enterprise still had the "key"A staff member drove me back to activate the car.We lost lost 2.5 hrs but luckily got to our rental Gite in time to get the key. The idea of starting the car to get the a/c going was well meaning but lacking attention to detail taking the key back to the check in desk could have had worse consequences had we got further into open country on our journey. Ok it was a mistake and perhaps I should have known better! "

" Bergerac staff were excellent. Car stolen in Bordeaux. From then on it was a customer relations disaster. Sixt in Bordeaux left me without transport. On phoning Auto Europe customer services told me only SIXT could help, who left me to fend for myself. You Auto Europe were after using you for 35 years were completely unhelpful and useless. I had to walk 35km to get to Bordeaux airport. Thanks for nothing you should be ashamed how I was treated. "

" I had my front tyre blow out within 1 hour of me picking the car up and it took 3 days to replace the car and I had to travel for 1 hour in a taxi to pick up another car from enterprise as Sixt had no cars available for me I then had to wait 4 hours for the new rental car. Now Sixt want me to pay for the repairs and tow truck even though I took out the full cover policy through autoeurope and claim it back through autoeurope, I have tried calling autoeurope but can't get through and I don't have an email address for autoeurope, I am very disappointed with the whole situation can someone from autoeurope get back to me please "

" Having picked the car up at Bergerac Very friendly staff and car ideal Unfortunately within a few hours the air con had changed to not being able to turn down Rang the next day had many conversations with a helpful lady waited hours for the mechanic to come in the meantime the car seemed to rectify itself so no need for call out Next day same thing had happend air con full or very minimal no radio ( Wer t that bothered about ) the air con was the main problem as we had a 12month baby So didn't use car much after that On picking car up at Bergerac I noted 710 Kms petrol on returning the car I filled up as usual I left the car with 840kms on return of the keys I did mention all this to the lady at reception she said she would into this I did say I am back in September (I was given a form for upgrade ) "

" I think when you hire a family car, it would be better to have a family car. The Citroen Berlingo was a bit more like a van. The AutoEurope website also sold this as an 'inclusive package' to cover a range of insurances and and excesses. So to then be told it doesn't cover for a range of other stuff and to have to pay extra was very annoying. In terms of value, my friends got a 4x4 with a decent spec and Sat Nav for significantly cheaper. (Hired from the same airport at the same time). "

" Firstly the good parts: - The lady that processed our pickup - very efficient and friendly. - The car (Renault Twingo) was great! Very nippy and great for parking in tight spots. The bad parts: - When we picked the car up there was still rubbish in it! A poor display from a company with high standards like AVIS. - The price; over £400 for the both of us to drive a super-mini class car for 10 days! - The drop off procedure. This was the most frustrating, we were on an early flight back to the UK and as such returned to Bergerac Airport before the AVIS office opened - 8.00am. No clear instruction on what to do with the keys, either at the office or in the literature. " VERY UNHAPPY The vehicle had several scratches on the paintwork not all of which were marked on our copy of the form so we had to go back and point them out. It turned out they were marked on the office copy but not ours. Done by previous customers but not repaired. Unfortunately some further very minor damage was done to the hire car, not by ourselves, during our rental period. The damage was to the small plastic indicator cover located on the drivers wing mirror. This plastic cover is very quick, easy and cheap to replace. We pointed the damage out on return of vehicle and were told we would be charged for replacement of the complete wing mirror at a cost of £260.09. The wing mirror was absolutely fine and in full working order. We had not taken the excess insurance cover offered and were quite prepared to pay for replacement of the damaged part. However we are being charged for much more than that, completely unnecessarily. This is an absolute disgrace on Avis's part, a dishonest scam as they clearly only need to replace the plastic cover. I have photographic evidence. I am interested to see if you respond to this. Very unhappy customer. "

( I'd never seen a car without a handbrake lever!) We ended up with a big SUV rather than the small hatchback we'd ordered (at no extra cost) My credit card was "blocked" rather than debited for the deposit, so no bank charges were incurred. " On pick-up, the car was not full of fuel. Whilst Enterprise said "bring it back at the same level", this defeated the advantage of the contracted full-to-full. The excuse given was that there was insufficient time to refuel the car - hmmmm! Apart from that, the pick-up briefing was the best and the most thorough that I have had over the many years and rentals that I have been renting cars "

" Excellent at reception and thrilled with having satnav convenience. "

" On return, the office was closed...National holiday...a notice indicated that we were to put keys in a neighbouring office letter box...Hertz...quite difficult to operate. The notice on the letter box told customers to put paper work in the box together with the car keys. ...I think that was aimed at Hertz customers. We brought our paper work back to the UK, as surely Avis has copies? "

" The car windscreen was very dirty and smeared. I had to buy cleaning materials to be able to drive the vehicle safely. I was not given any paperwork confirming hire of the vehicle. Due to queues, I was unable to properly check the vehicle in on return. I have still not received the refund of my deposit. "
