Auto Europe have no right, legally or morally, to sell a product which turns out to be useless. It is merely a cynical way of taking more money off the client. If Auto Europe wish to claim a 'working relationship' with Noleggiare and doubtless other car rental providers, it is imperative that they either remove the additional cover facility from their rental agreement or ensure that their car hire partners are happy to acknowledge and respect the extra cover purchased. " There was a single member of staff at the counter, despite I arrived ~8PM, not midnight. The queue was short but it took quite a bit of time. Once I got my car keys and I went to the car park, there were no Drivalia staff members there (apparently they leave at 6PM!) and I had to find my car, only for it to be blocked by another car parked outside the spaces, improperly. I then had to go back to the main counter and ask the single member of staff to stop serving other customers and come to the car park to remove the car which was improperly parked. I doubt I will use Drivalia again. "

" Hello - I rented a car from Felirent and it turns out the car was not in safe driving condition, which was not spotted when I picked it up, but I had to drive 3 hours back to the rental agency the next day as the entire front panel of the underside of the car was dragging on the ground. When I picked up the car, I told them that it looked like the car had been in an accident as the front was all scratched and dented, and they assured me that it wasn't, and wouldn't swap the car out at that time. This was clearly a lie and forced me to waste a day of my holiday driving it back to return it. When I brought it back, the front desk staff said it wasn't their responsibility, that I needed to check the car, they didn't apologise or offer anything in terms of compensation. I spent my first whole day of holiday dealing with a rental car - which is not great. "

I can get this being queried once because of initial confusion, but when speaking to a company named "auto EUROPE", you'd hope they'd grasp this time difference quite quickly from then. When we stated that we'd been waiting 45 minutes and had called 7 times, we were told to phone the rental company again. We tried to explain that we had done so multiple times and weren't achieving anything, asking that Auto Europe make contact given that our booking was with them. Auto Europe were obtuse and unhelpful, offering no assistance or solution. We waited over an hour for a shuttle bus which is completely unacceptable, especially given we booked through Auto Europe on the basis of an on-airport rental. "

The cubic boot space is 37pct bigger in the L compared to the X and we was taken a decent amount of luggage so would of appreciated it this meant that my three family members had to experience the hour long drive to our accommodation and back to the airport with a suitcase on their laps . After locating the car in the car park I had to wait 20 minutes while cars where shuffled around as we blocked in by other Leasys vehicles as they don't have enough car parking spaces in the rental car park .This 20 minutes did give myself and my wife the chance to exam the car as alot my scratches and scuffs were evident then on the sheet I was given and in fairness when I highlighted these a male staff member did tick them off . The service light came on after a few days of driving . On returning the vehicle nobody at Leasys was in the car park to check the car over ,no Leasy spaces were available in the car park ,so I was now the blocker of other Leasy vehicles . As nobody was in the car park I had to queue in the very long administration queue of the customers getting their holiday vehicles. Once I returned the keys I asked the staff member if they wanted to come with me and check the car over ,they declined . I explained the service light is on and it's not parked in a parking spot but is blocking other cars in and she said ok ,I signed my paperwork and went to the terminal. "

You go to the counter but rather than give you a contract there and then, you have to wait for a phone call from head office in Milan and you end up giving long numbers over the phone like driving licence numbers and passport numbers, which get misheard. Then you have to go back to the desk. Frankly, I had been expecting simply to collect keys. Instead we spend ages faffing at the airport. The second issue is that the car had Dualogic gearbox. I had actually requested a manual but was told it was an "automatic." Not a huge deal but what was a bigger deal was that the Dualogic gearbox is not an ordinary automatic and no one explained how to use it. After getting stuck and immobile trying to get out of the car park we had to Google how it works. Another issue was that the guy from Head Office in Milan tried to sell us on an excess waiver policy, even though he knew full well we had that through Auto Europe. Finally, to add my wife to the rental would have cost 12 euros a day which seems like a rip off for no more risk. "

Minimal service at pick up, no walk through of the car or run through of car condition, no explanation of whether to return full tank or what type of petrol, all this had to be guessed by ourselves. At drop off literally no checks so a case of your word against theirs, no one at the counter to pick up key so had to left in a box, no explanation of where to park the car at drop off so again complete guess work. Now I have been charged a large additional amount to my card post rental despite already paying for the rental, with no explanation whatsoever, and I cannot get through to customer services by any means. Disgraceful service, feel robbed of my money. Would not recommend using Sixt at all, should be avoided. "

" Collection took 45 minutes, very painful. At collection we were told the insurance retention amounts were very high (€2,500 for damage, €3,000 for theft). The cost of insurance was more expensive than the rental. Very misleading not to highlight this upfront and turned a reasonable price into a very expensive price. We were offered 3 insurance retention options but without much price difference. Booking form completed manually, information repeated several times, incomplete form (no price included) given to me for signature. Despite booking an estate car we were given a hatchback. It was difficult to fit 4 people's luggage in the boot. Drop-off should have been quick and efficient except that the manually completed form at collection didn't include tax so I had to go back to the desk (same man) to confirm the cost of insurance with tax before paying. All in all, a bad rental experience. "

" Other than the queue everything else was a great experience, to pick up/drop off is not that far from the terminal and easy to find and return to and the staff there were again helpful. I would recommend and use again as its great value but would certainly make sure the named person went ahead to queue as soon as we came through immigration. "

" Despite giving our flight details and booking 3 weeks in advance we waited 3.5 hours at Brindisi airport for our car. There were 2 counter staff and around 50 people to get through! Not a good start to our holiday. Having paid £105 in advance we were then informed the rental of car seats was not included and we had to pay 10 euros a day as my partner does not have a credit card ( this is just day light robbery). With insurance ( as we were informed even a flat tire incurrs a cost of £400) Our car hire for the week came to nearly £500 which is an insane amount. None of these costs were transparent and we would never have used this company if they had been. The counter staff were unapologetic about the wait and rude about any questions we had surrounding extra charges. Worst and most expensive car hire experience I have ever had. Would never recommend this company. Drop off was slightly better managed as we didn't have to go to the office. "

" I have rented cars with Auto Europe for many years but my latest experience with Maggiore was not good and whilst the drop off was much more professional I would never use Maggiore again. I think the issue is not the team who were trying to do their best but the manager of this office who did not seem to care about customer service and was very off hand with us. We never got an apology for all the time wasted and there were lots of disagreements going on at their office with other very unhappy customers about damages that they claimed were not their fault. "
" We found a warning light on the car dashboard which we did not understand and the cover on the gear box was loose and kept popping off. We brought this to the attention of the team. The manager did not want to do anything and did not seem to care but we did not want to take a car with a fault light they could not fix so we insisted that they find us another car which they did but the whole process took a long time and we wasted over an hour and a half. They didn't seem to care that this was our precious holiday time wasted on an issue that was not ours. In the end they found us another car which was not very clean but it saved us more time waiting for another car. The cars do not seem to be maintained well and checked as the water in the windscreen washer also ran out very quickly. They also took authorisation for a tank full of petrol which was strange as I was planning to return it full. "

This time the counter operative was very pushy trying to sell me an upgrade, which I politely declined saying that as there was only two of us, the car I had booked would suffice. Then came the extra insurance, I declined again explaining that as I had a home there and visited five or six times per year, I had an annual policy. He then gave me the paperwork to sign and handed me a key. When I arrived at the car I decided to check the condition against my rental document and couldn't see any checks on the document, the car however was covered in scratches. I had to return to the desk and queue up again and ask him to return with me to the car and mark all the scratches on the document. He said he was too busy but to mark them myself which he then signed. If I had not done this then I cannot say that they would have been attributed to me but it is possible. "

" Not happy with this rental. I have rented cars for many years and find the insurance situation a minefield. Booking companies like Auto Europe say we don't have to take out additional insurance when we pay them for full cover with no excess, but when you collect the car we find we don't have FULL COVER and are liable for the first 2500 euro . They then pressured us into additional insurance costing 50 reduced to 25 euro a day to cover any excess charges in event of a collision. Didn't notice until I arrived at first destination that there was no cover for luggage in the boot (trunk) which meant that bags in the car remained very visible. For two days I had constantly tried to get in touch with the airport Brindisi brunch to extend the hire for one extra day but nobody picked up ignoring the phone call. I ended up calling the head office customers service but the operator could not help me. When I returned the car and I informed the operator at the desk about the extra charges, he brushed me off sending me away. Overall a disastrous experience from a company that used to be one of the best in Italy. Shameful!!! "

" Nightmare vredit card couldent be used brcause i hadent used it in italy before. So couldent pay in cash or use debit card. Cots me 100 pound on taxi. So car was paid for and couldent use it. So angry at the time as i said 2018 wouldent take cash or debit card. Tottaly bad experience from beginging to end and staff were so unhelpful English was poor and did not try to help in anyway. Even when my son offerd to use his credit card. So i ended up 230 pounds out of pocket. "

One of the scratches have been probably made buy them (they parked the car against a wall). It is not acceptable that they have not took note of them on the sheet prior to my arrival. It looks like they wanted to scam me and I am sure they have done it before. At the end he noted then down on the paper but he was very rude and unprofessional. " When we did get hold of a representative from Auto-Europe we found their response was efficient and on the face of it helpful. But it was to no avail. However it is completely unacceptable to say that it is important for us to notify you if there are any delays for pick up and than not have enough staff to answer the phone. Also you need to really sort out the practices of your business partner in Brindisi. "
" I shall be sending you separately, once to have spoken to one of your representatives on the phone after the bank holiday, a complaint about Thrifty which in summary will be as follows: Our 13.14 Ryanair flight to Brindisi was cancelled after 8 hours on the Friday 10th August 2018. We had to find alternative flights which meant that we were unable to pick up the car until we touched down via Alitalia at about 9 pm on Saturday. We were aware that we needed to contact you to let you know that we were going to be delayed. We tried. I made in excess of 56 calls to your Ashford number to notify someone (other members of our parties tried as well) and the Hertz number in Brindisi (the thrifty number of the web site just did not work) and throughout the 11th August as we travelled. Your Ashford number always put me on hold until it rang off. Hertz did not answer, ever, although twice, we did get an answer message. Details of this, along with phone records will be attached to my separate letter. We did eventually get through to an Auto-Europe representative, who was very helpful and logged the situation on the system at about 16.35. When we arrived at the Hertz/Thrifty counter we were told that our car had gone...fair enough...but that there was a car for us..great. However our whole contract had been cancelled and we had to take up another one. When we complained that we had paid for two weeks already and now were in effect paying twice for the hire of the car (this second one without discounts) - the lady behind the counter said that this was our problem to take up with you. We pointed out that a representative from Auto-Europe had noted our travel situation on the system she just shrugged and said there was nothing. We said we had tried to ring she shrugged, disagreed that the Thrifty number did not work and when we showed her the number on the website she said that it had been changed long ago and that it was nothing to do with her. This is an unacceptable practice and I hope that you have not paid any money for our initial contract to Thrifty otherwise they will have received double payment for that hire period. "

Had to return the next day, which was a 100km round trip to change the car to a small as requested and they demanded I fill the car or I would not receive the new vehicle even though I argued that it was their fault I had to return to the airport during my holiday. The manager showed no interest in my explanation that the paperwork displayed a clean undamaged car and petrol amount and that I had to take pictures to prove this to the counter staff the night before. very very rude and unpleasant. " No issue with Locauto's process, staff attitude, etc or the car but drop off was an absolute nightmare as Locauto had changed, during my 8 days rental, the drop off location without telling me (or the other irate drivers trying to find the new drop off point). The usual (I am a regular customer at Brindisi) car pick up and return place at Brindisi is very congested at the best of times but with Avis/Budget now where Locauto used to be and no way to turn round it was horrible for everyone who had driven into it as they tried to get out. It took me 45 minutes to negotiate all the other cars doing the same so nerves were very frayed and planes nearly missed. Locauto had no one placed to stop cars going into the old location and no-one advertising the new location. It was an absolute farce. Please feed this feedback to them. I am normally quite a fan of Locauto but this was a very bad end to car hire. "

As such I was unable to be reimbursed for the amount paid vis Auto Europe, and had to take the car as I was reliant on it for my holiday. After this discussion in Brindisi on credit/debit cards and false advertising - The car cost twice the price I agreed with Auto Europe in the end since I had to pay 135ueros more. Extremely unhappy about the service as it WAS NOT as agreed upon booking. Additionally the 300euro deposit has not yet been returned and there was no issue with accidents/damages etc. "

The condition of the minibus which collected us did not inspire confidence 3. We were not greeted properly by the person who picked us up or by the office staff 4. We found the manner of the office staff unfriendly and dismissive 5. They seemed preoccupied with selling us extra cover 6. We were shocked when they asked us to pay in advance for the car to be cleaned on return. Surely this is part of the car hire charge. 6. The staff who checked the car back in and returned us to the airport were unfriendly and uncommunicative. 8. " Hi, the pick up and condition of the car were great as it was relatively quick and the car was almost brand new with only 700km on the clock. However, when we dropped the car off we were told the fuel tank wasn't full - we had just 5 mins ago filled it up at a nearby petrol station so if it wasn't full it can't have been far off so that was inconvienient going to fill it up again. Also we were charged 40 euros for a scratched hub cab, and 165 euros for a scratched tyre. Both of those amounts seems excessive and we feel this was only charged because the car was new and you'd take advantage of the first few people who rent it. The staff were unable to provide a receipt for that until we hung around and insisted. Are you able to let us know if this is refundable via the super cover? "

In bright sunshine this is difficult to read plus on both check in and return the page was magnified so that only the signature section was visible.You are forced to sign without being able to read the contract in full while in the car park area when the agent is only interested in processing your agreement. This is most unsatisfactory as in effect you are are signing blind. On returning the car you must ask for a paper based signature that all is well.Two days later an e mail releasing your deposit is sent,the terminology is poorly worded and gives the impression they are taking funds. Presumably the vacum was broken as well. Car was full of sand and food crumbs, bits of broken biscuit and crisps. It was also heavely damaged, which the staff acknowledged. The car was so dirty that we had a job to identify the damage. I think we managed to spot most of the scratches and dents. We still had a really good holiday and the car did not spoil it. We know this is not the usual Auto Europe and will be happy to use the Company again. "

" The cars are all ex-Hertz rentals, a bit battered but that's par for the course in Italy. We got a free upgrade to a people carrier from a Fiat 500, good in some ways, a nightmare to park. The compound is a good 15 minutes drive from the airport so not great if you are in a hurry. I have used them several times now and Firefly does just what I need, a small car at a good price if you don't mind a wait. "

Although anly half the fuel was used up, there was no refund for the petrol left over in the tank, unlike when you are supposed to return a full tank and you are charged for the top up if you don't do it yourself.
