Then when we dropped the car back there was noone there to receive it so we left the keys in the car drop off box and then I received a late drop off charge for the next day after I dropped it off. I have lodged a complaint process with Hertz due to get this refunded and there is an additional charge which I am also querying. I have not been able to speak to anyone in person at Hertz, only there online chat service which has only told me that an incidence report has been created and they will let me know shortly what the situation is. Having returned the car we realised immediately and the staff at Europcar were able to reverse the return process on the original hire, as it had not completed processing and we had the car for an extra 3 hours for no extra cost allowing us to go off site from the airport for a nice pub lunch and walk. We asked about the CDW we had included and the member of staff was not able to explain what this was. At the point of collecting the car, I was required to pay an additional £52 'one way fee' as I was returning the car to a different airport. This expected fee was not communicated by AutoEurope during the booking process and I'm VERY annoyed about it. On my voucher, it was estimated as "0.00 GBP". If I had known about the extra £52 fee then I might have made alternative transport arrangements. Please can you provide your complaints procedure? I wish to make a formal complaint. If I don't hear back, then I will contact a consumer protection agency. "

Staff at Bristol did the minimum they could, at time of collection the staff member did not move out of her chair, said to take photos, rather than show me the car & specifically where the marks/dents were. I looked at the start mileage, but stupidly did not take a picture. When I looked at the email documentation, I saw the 'start' mileage which was 161 miles less than when collected! This meant it would be easy to go over my limit & be liable for a penalty charge. Luckily I kept within my limits, but on returning the car & mentioned this, the guy just shrugged & had no interest at all. Maybe it is the way Green Motion are able to make more money & charge excess fees! Not imperessed. "

I particularly appreciated that the staff at Lincoln then drove me to the Railway Station which was wonderful and saved a great deal of angst on my part. "

" I brought the vehicle back a day early but when I rang the dedicated department at Auto Europe by phone to modify the rental contract from 3 days to 2, the person who answered said it wasn't possible to receive a refund for the day not used (even though I'd been told when I collected the car that it was possible). Her explanations as to why it wasn't possible to modify the booking didn't make any logical sense. I only had the car for 2 days instead of 3 because the car rental agency at Bristol airport was only able to provide me with the vehicle 90 minutes after the original pick up time, so when I brought it back, it was still day 2, not day 3. "

" On the pick up I was waiting about 40 mins On the drop off I nearly missed my flight. The lady at the company told me she would take me at 9.30am which meant a 25minute wait which I reluctantly agreed to. Then 9.42 came and I was nearly in tears at the risk of missing my flight I said you said 9.30 to which she said my colleague will be in at ten I said I have a flight to catch and in the end I had to run with a 20kg hold-all no wheels and a small carry on with wheels 15 mins around the corner to try to make bag check in. I arrived out of breath and almost in tears just making the bag drop with 5 mins to spare. Overall i would not recommend due to their understaffing & experience of pick up & drop off being too slow. The car itself was ok. But inner windscreen was filthy "

" Autocar are good to deal with but the disconnect with the actual hire companies and their instance to pressure sell upgrade's and 'extra' Insurrance is bad. Why is full insurance then not covering things like wheels, tyres and roofs for crist sake "

This is the second saga I've encountered with Sixt car rental...earlier this year I was charged for fuel I hadn't used...and had to spend hours emailing back and forth for it to be resolved.......its almost as though these are possible additional income streams for Sixt ?? " Did get caught out by scrutiny of car on return and small damage to alloy was attributed to me which I know I was not responsible for. The morale of the story is to check car VERY VERY carefully before you leave particularly the wheels and take photos. "

" This relates to any of the car hire companies as they all in use an off-site location and my comments actually relate to Bristol Airport, which I really detest. It wasn't obvious where to wait for the bus to take you to the car rental office. On the return, I had to allow an extra 30 mins to an already early start to phone for the bus as the normal bus service did not start until 6am. Having car rental service at the actual terminal would be so much better. "

" The ENTERPRISE part was all good. Nice staff. Nice car. No waiting neither comming in or dropping off. Issue is the car rental hubs both in Bristol and Heathrow T5. In BRISTOL one waits 15 minutes to get a shuttle that drives for 10 minutes to the Rent a Car. So that is 30 minutes wasted. STAY AWAY FROM BRISTOL AIRPORT AT ALL COSTS. Same in Heathrow.... the car rental is 10 minutes shuttle away from the terminal and you wait 10 min on average... so here again its 20 minutes wasted. "

" It was a very expensive, frustrating and unfair experience. I would like a full refund of my Sixt car rental costs. "
" I made a booking for a 10am rental car pickup when it wasn't at that stage entirely clear when I was arriving in Bristol. I arrived in the end at about 4pm but was advised that because I hadn't picked up my car within one hour of 10am the car had been 'given away' and I needed to rent a new car at - guess what - a higher price from the one I'd originally booked. I reluctantly agreed, only for the next hurdle: Sixt needed to contact the DVLA for details about my UK licence. But the DVLA phone lines were closed, so we tried three times online, but each attempt failed. The Sixt employee told me then that he couldn't rent me the car because they couldn't verify my licence details with the DVLA. To his credit, he did go to Europcar for me to check that they had a car, which they did (they don't insist on licence checks), so I ended up renting a whole new car from Europcar and am still owed money by Sixt. My husband has also had increasing issues renting from Sixt and we are very unlikely to rent from them again. Cowboys and rip-off merchants. "

My SATNAV took me to the airport and I ended up having to do a loop of the airport before I could drive to the car rental area. I am still waiting to see if the airport will want to fine me for going in without paying for parking. A sticker or note just to remind the driver of the location would have been very helpful "

He insisted on speaking to my husband even thought the rental was in my name. He tried to fob us off with a Mini, when we had booked a Skoda Octavia. He also said that Sixt were overbooked and he had to cancel many bookings at short notice - this is not acceptable to me. Nor was his attitude, which I found highly offensive. "

" I have had a dreadful experience with Auto Europe I could not collect the car or even go on my trip due to my flight being cancelled due to covid 19. I told auto Europe however as I did not tell them before 72 hours of pick up time they will not refund the £96 payment i originally made. I emailed 3 times explaining that I thought that hertz airport car hire would presumably be checking to see which flights were cancelled (ALL FLIGHTS TO BRISTOL AIRPORT FROM GUERNSEY ARE CURRENTLY CANCELLED ) as I had given my flight number and details at the time of booking. I have asked for a refund and been told 3 times I am not entitled to one. I think it's wholly unethical to take money (which I guess is eventually shared with hertz) from me on this time of covid 19. I would like hertz to intercept please and arrange with auto Europe for me to have either a refund or a credit voucher - I have been very pleased with hertz previously when I booked directly. Auto Europe, as a business partner appear to have no integrity. "

" Auto Europe is my first choice when looking to rent a car. They always seem to have best prices and I like to take out full excess insurance with them. Last year the car I hired was damaged through no fault of my own. I was dreading making a claim but it was a very positive experience and my claim was settled in a week. Bravo. "

I was returning the car to Glasgow Airport and due to being pre-occupied I forgot to fill it up locally before returning. The girl said thye charged £1.55 per litre for unleaded. I said i would go to the local garage (that I could see from the car hire centre although couldnt see the ricing board form where we were). She said 'there's no point as it's £1.65 there, you're better letting us fill it up here'. I was tired so agreed. I then went to collect my own car and had to pass the aforementioned garage to find that unleaded was only £1.26. I feel cheated and deceived by this. I'll never use Alamo by Ent again. "

Eazirent's computer system, unlike Europe, Hertz and Sixt, does not recognise some foreign cards as credit cards and so I was forced to pay for extra insurance and a whole tank of fuel. For this reason I would not recommend unless the friend has a British credit card. "

I was not happy to sign off at the drop off without seeing what I had agreed to! It was unclear to me what the CDW excess of £1000.00 meant in terms of costs for 'minor' damages, e.g. the splitting of the windscreen (from road grit?) resulting in £320.00 personal cost!). " I encountered a v.pushy member of staff at Green Motion who tried every trick in the book to upsell me insurance and to upgrade my vehicle. When I declined he warned me that any scratch on the vehicle would result in having to pay the full excess of £1200... this was clearly designed to scare me into reducing the excess. When we went outside to look over the vehicle he asked me to sign the document without having even checked the condition of the exterior. I felt rushed and consequently missed a small chip on the rear bumper... (NB. This should have been pointed out to me by the staff member at the time, but was not) When I returned the vehicle 3 days later the same member of staff drew my attention to the small chip on the rear bumper and followed up by saying I would need to pay a charge for it. Thankfully, his Manager pointed out that the mark was already on the vehicle prior to my hire period and I would not need to pay. The conduct of this Green Motion member of staff was v.poor indeed, so much so I am considering filing an official complaint against him. "

" After my booking with auto rental on the 29th, I travelled 30mins to pick up my rental car at green motion. All was well when I got there. He asked for all my documents and I gave that to him. he proceeded to sell me an insurance which worked out for the 9 days at 162 pounds. Further from looking through my booking reservation (and struggling to understand why I need this extra insurance) I told the customer service employee that this has already been covered by auto rental.. however he proceeded sell me this extra insurance for "piece of mind". I did explain that this is something that has already been covered by auto rental! But he said that this is what I will need. (FYI Not needed as already covered - so basically I'm paying an extra £162 for my cover). He convinced me and after that I proceeded to go ahead with the booking. Having thought about it for a couple of minutes whilst I was in green motion offices, I double checked and ensured that I definetly did not need it! So I explained to the customer service person why I don't need it and he said.. "it means that you have to do extra paper work to get the money back from the brokers". Anyways, I said no I would like to get that 162 pound refunded to me please. Soon after saying that and him processing the refund, he happen to just notice very very conveniently that I have points on my licence 7. Can I just stress that this is after 15minutes Of him asking me for my Dvla code, drivers licence and all my personal details!! This is all because I requested not to go ahead with the insurance that he was trying to sell me. And I requested to have the money refunded to my card!! Very very incredibly disgusted by this!!! And definetly never hiring a car from green motion again! Also I note that whilst I was there I overheard them trying to sell this "extra insurance" to a different customer, which he declined! So he refused to rent me the car due to my points even though I still have a full driving licence!! Further from that, there is NO wording in green motions policy stating that they have a licence policy of 6 points or less in order to higher out a car!! Absolutely horrible service at green motion!!! Completely disrupted my week!! "

" Green Motion Bristol airport - avoid at all cost! I rented a car for 4 days in Bristol through Autoeurope and got a car from Green Motion, who I wasn't familiar with. Their Bristol Airport location isn't really at the airport but a long walk away in a yard shared with an hotel and with only 1 small room. At the office they asked me a card and I showed my FINECO mastercard credit card. They suddenly told me that it was'nt a "credit" but a "debit". They pointed at a small sign "debit" reported on the card. It is a FINECO Mastercard Multifunction Card that in addition to credit can be a debit card (only in Italy, Pagobancomat circuit). I used it everywhere in UK with no problem. I used equally at another car rent in Edimburg last september 2018 (Enterprise car rent). They sayed since it was a debit card I had to pay £ 17,00 per day more. I phoned the help desk of my bank and they immediatly emailed me certifying the card as a Credit Card, but the boss did'nt even wanted read the email. I insisted to try it at the terminal and he answered that their terminal does not recognise the card as a real credit card. I was furious but I had to accept the situation and pay £ 78,00 (the real renting fee was £ 34,00). At this point they gave me the car. It was a Renault Clio instead of the FIAT 500 booked online. I asked if it had the spare weel and they answered: "No problem, It's a new car". I opened the hatchback and I found no spare wheel and no inflating device. I had to wait more 15 minutes another Clio with spare wheel. The staff were very rude to me and I'm sure to have been ripped off. This experience spoiled my day in Bristol. "

" The car had significantly more damage then I was told, luckily I spotted it before leaving the lot - delaying my departure after a very long flight. The member of staff took photos and filled in the form I had detailing all the extra damage. I dropped off before you opened meaning I wasn't there when you checked it and you claimed I had caused some of the damage, even though it was listed on the paperwork from collection. I still haven't heard back that you are not going to try and charge me. I am beginning to wonder how many times you try and charge subsequent customers for the same damage!! "

" When we arrived at Bristol airport we called the company to pick us up. The 1St mini bus arrived and left full. We had to call again for the bus to return. We were taken to a small office a short distance away. I was asked for my drivers license and national insurance number the booking confirmation. The member of staff asked for a credit card for the deposit which was £1200. I don't have a credit card and they would not accept my wife's. So we had to pay an extra £36 for 2 days as I had to put the deposit on my visa card and they took £400 deposit which I was told would be released a few days after the car was returned. (this took a week).Whilst in the office I could hear another family struggling to sort out their deposit too. The staff were abrupt and unfriendly. We eventually went outside to a Renault Clio. The member of staff walked around the car while we inspected the car for any known damage. The staff had a clipboard with map of the car and when he checked the map he was convinced that the rear alloy wheel should have been damaged but when we checked there was nothing at all wrong with it. He then continued to check the car and noted any previous scuffs to the wheels. He then stated that the cars fuel should be returned to the same amount as it was on the return. It was about 3/4 full. I don't know why they don't do full to full but I had to fill it prior to leaving our final destination and just before we got back to the company as it was just under. I took a photo on my phone as proof and reminder. When we returned the car the next day we went into the office to return the keys. I had already said to my wife I was uncomfortable with the whole set up. A female staff member said she'd check the car over. We went outside to the car. She checked the mileage and fuel. (your only allowed 92 miles per day). She then began to check the outside of the car. She briskly walked around the car then promptly stopped at the front of the car as if she knew where to stop exactly. She then pointed out a very minor scratch under the front bumper skirt which looked more like dried car wax Polish to me. She said that this was a new scratch as it wasn't documented on the car map which was done the day earlier. I knew I hadn't done this and informed her the car had not been in any collision and had been parked in a field as we'd been to a wedding. I think if I'd given a different reaction it would have been just what she wanted so I'd have to pay for the damage. She stated she'd check on the computer to see if the scratch had been previously noted. She checked and stated that there was nothing recorded. I again informed her I was not responsible for the damage so she checked the previous customers map sheet of the car and she confirmed it was last customer and that their computer hadn't been updated. Though I wasn't convinced this was true as she didn't show me the sheet. I definitely would not use this company again. I would advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere as I feel that you'll get scammed anyway they can. "

I was told that staff at the motel next door would take the vehicle and transport me to the airport. When I arrived to return the vehicle, the driver would not transport me to the terminal for 30 minutes which would have meant me risking missing my flight. I had to walk around a mile in the pouring rain. When I emailed green motion to complain, they said the airport shuttle was "an act of kindness" and subject to availability. Absolute nonsense. Diabolical service. Wouldn't recommend them and would be weary of booking through auto Europe if this complaint is not resolved to my full satisfaction. "

The car we wanted not available long story cut short we were offered a Volvo huge car my husband accepted and I did not agree so we had a small damage on the wheel alloy cover and brought the car back to easyrent next day we ended up with a toyota yaris. A car that did it really very well. The swap was handled well by easyrent I must say.. The drop back to the airport was unacceptable. The man that finally after a long wait brought us back was very unpolite. "

" WHERE DO I START. It was after leaving the rental carpark at the Airport that I noticed a sign on the dashboard that indicated a 20psi on the driver's rear tyre. . It seemed OK. This was Saturday pm. On Monday pm someone in the car park of the hotel in Pontprennau pointed to the car and shouted "flat tyre". It did not help that there was no hand book to work out how the jack worked, nor what a spanner sign meant on Tuesday on the way back to the airport. I have not changed a tyre in 50 years!. Fortunately there was a kind soul at the hotel who changed it for me. I gave him £10. It was obviously a slow puncture and the warning sign was not picked up by your rental co. Your staff tried to say it was my fault. To conclude I will avoid Auto Europe in the future. "

" I've got the parking charge from NCP by mistake. I've contacted NCP and they cancelled that fine. However, I've tried to appeal to EUROPCAR by email (suggest on EUROPCAR's letter) for three time, but they never read it. The invoice number is TV2277685. I've just reveived the auto reply. Case number 03645855 and Case number: 03659870. I've never received any answer from EUROPCAR. However, the administration fee of 40 pounds is deducted from my account (Charge by EUROPCAR). It's really annoying. Why do I have to pay for other mistake? I understand that sometime people make mistake, but I 've followed their instruction to appeal. What they just need to do is read it. Any assistance to get the refund from EUROPCAR would be appreciated. Thank you "

" Office not located where stated on my voucher. After having told the member of staff that I did not want ANY extra payment other than what had been paid already. After having showed him a copy of my independant excess insurance he proceeded to do the paperwork. He implied that if I did not give him an email address I would be charged extra and penalised. He then asked me to sign for the car and told me about the amount that would be blocked on my credit card which I knew about. He then said that the amount would be reduced but I had to sign for it and sign for receipt of the vehicle. He turned the screen around for me to sign which I did. The I was told that the car was unmarked but when I checked it there were several marks that were not documented. I had to get these noted and also the car interior was not clean. That evening my wife checked our online bank and saw that two amounds had been taken off my credit card. £55 and £95. She rang Easirent to query this and spoke to somenoe on the counter who was extremely abrupt and told her that I was fully aware of what I was signing and then he hung up! This is the worst experience with a hire car company I have ever had. I hire vehicles on a regular basis and have never had such an immoral, underhand, sly, dishonest experience. This branch of Easirent cannot be trusted. They obviously pray on travellers who are tired and weary and bamboozle them into paying for something that they did not need or want. "

" Being offered a car with faulty seat belts is a very concerning matter. Had I not noticed this at the pick up point myself and had we been involved in an accident we would have been in serious trouble with the law. The rental companies failure to properly check all of the safety features of their cars puts peoples lives at risk! "
" The boot of first car offered was not large enough to hold one large suitcase and two smaller bags. Further the vehicle was not fitted with a Sat Nave system! However, the agent offered to supply one for £20 per day! The car was rented for 10 days and the charge for the sat nav hire would have been £200, almost as much as the car hire cost! A Tom Tom system can be bought in Halfords for as little as £70.00!! Also one of the three rear sat belts was broken making the vehicle unfit for use on the road. The replacement vehicle however was very acceptable. "

My flight was diverted to Southampton and a taxi was provided to get me to Bristol airport. Unfortunately I arrived just shortly after the rental offices had closed at midnight. The Hotel on site was fully booked, so I spent an 'interesting' 8 hours waiting for the office to open again the next morning. Other airports do have better flexibility in this respect. "

Because I had my wife and my parents with me with luggage, I have decided to walk. It took like a good 15 minutes to get there and when I got there it too another good 25 minutes for the reception staff to process the rental. After I got the car, I had to pay the express pick up charge to pick up my family from the airport because there are no free pickup points in the airport. My credit card information has been stolen after using it at Easirent. That is the only place I have used the card in a very long time, the next day there were like 6 unapproved transactions on my card. By the far the worst car rental service I have ever used!! "

After I got the car, I had to pay the express pick up charge to pick up my family from the airport because there are no free pickup points in the airport. My credit card information has been stolen after using it at Easirent. That is the only place I have used the card in a very long time, the next day there were like 6 unapproved transactions on my card. By the far the worst car rental service I have ever used!! "

" Rather efficient and nice staff, but drop off point could have gone been better. I was asked to make a deposit of 140£ (that would take care of costs if something happened with the car). Paid that (Tuesday 12/6). When returning the car (Wednesday 13/6) and they found no damage on the car I was told that the deposit would be released automatically and immediately. But the money was not released from my bank until today (18/6) but it was deposit immediately from Tuesday. That could have gone better/faster. Otherwise it was a good experience with a nice clean car. "

Once at the desk we were told by the person behind the desk that she was not trained to deal with our rental, so we had to rejoin the queue. The cost of the excess was over a £1000, whilst back in December it was just £250. On returning the rental guy in the car park wanted us to hand over the keys without checking the vehicle for any damage. Last time that happened we had notification of damage by email, Knowing that the car had no damage , we were very dissapointed to learn of a £60 fine. Therefore we shall not be using this service again and will not recommend it to other potential customers. "

On return of the vehicle there was a tiny chip picked up by a staff member on the windscreen and the immediately blamed us for the chip, despite the fact that it was only 3mm big. I also did not check the windscreen initially for chips as the Alamo staff member lulled me into a false sense of security. Alamo / enterprise want to charge me for repair of the chip in the windscreen. I am not happy about this and they were hard to deal with on return of the car. "

Frankly, it was one of the worst cars I have ever rented. Tinny, noisy and cheap-feeling. Gearbox was notchy and finding reverse very difficult. I only found the petrol cap release after an embarrassing 5-minute search. There was some kind of automatic engine control system, which sometimes prevented starting. Since someone had removed the instruction manual I couldn't get any information on the things I needed to know. "
