We flew out the next day and initially hired a car for 6 days in order to get family members back to Geneva to fly home. We managed to sort all passports and travel to Geneva over two days so were able to hand the car back early. I expected a large refund as car booked in good faith and in an emergency, but when I enquired no help was forthcoming. A large bill has been paid and I think exceptionally the days the vehicle was not used should be refunded, as surely it was hired out to other customers! I have used Auto europe over many years and find this sharp practice unacceptable, as we were on a mercy mission with no idea of the end/return date so had to estimate enough time to allow all medical and passport/customs procedures to be met before all could travel home. " Very impressed. I think the process of dropping off at P 51 are too problematic. It's far too easy to go the wrong way on entering the car park. It's necessary to stay as far to the right as possible, but I only know that because I've dropped cars off so many times before. It's also difficult to find your way to P 51 if you don't know what you are doing. I think you should have a chat with the airport authorities and improve the signage. It would also help if you could persuade the adjacent filling station to improve and simplify the process of brimming the tank. Fiddling about with credit cards and codes the is a nightmare when you have a plane to catch. "

" The problems with Budget are not really Auto Europes fault - however if I book a vehicle for a given price I expect to be able to pick it up for that price and not contend with add ons, some of which were reluctantly agreed, some were just added, and some were in my view fraudulent. " The experience with Budget/ Avis went badly wrong from the moment my party tried to pick up our vehicle. We were forced to upgrade after 20 minutes "discussion" to a 4WD vehicle which Budget insisted we needed and tried to charge 70CHF per day initially, then reduced to 35 and finally we had to accept 19 CHF per day as it seemed we were not getting the vehicle. On return having filled the vehicle to overflowing fuel 20kms out from the airport we were told it was not full even though the indicator was exactly as we picked up - add another 31CHF to the bill. Then with a minute inspection a small scratch was found no bigger than a finger nail - it looked more like tree sap and not done by us in any incident, but Budget then charged 814CHF to fix it. It seemed they were determined to get their original upgrade cost out of us plus a lot more than we were actually charged by Auto europe originally. I am now pursuing my excess insurance for the first time ever! I will never use Avis/Budget again -they are dishonest. "

" Our view is that the rep was trying to protect his staff by pinning the accident on the next unsuspecting renter. Outrageous!!!! "
" When we collected the car we inspected it before entering the vehicle. It had been parked crashed against the wall of the car park hitting a steel beam. We went to report this and the budget rep said just take a photo. I insisted they inspect and note the damage on the form. Eventually one guy came out and then blamed us. He said this happens a lot and we must have crashed it. He also said that his staff wouldn't leave the wheels on full lock like they were. However, I argued I had not even sat in the car and they must be able to a. track the last journey time on the computer, have cctv and why would the wheel be on full lock when there was a card parked next to it and the space was tight requiring the driver to back straight out. The more likely explanation was when the car was parked that bay next to it was empty and the driver just swung the car in. Eventually the budget rep backed the car out himself and agreed to note the damage to the bonnet on the form. The budget rep confessed maybe one of his guys did it when moving the cars. A very stressful experience and we were worried about it all holiday. The notes on the form were scribbled and only reflected on our copy not carbon copied to their report. Had we lost the paper we would have been liable for the damage. "

" Very disappointed that we were charged for being late returning the car. Although we called to inform your staff that we were stuck in heavy traffic nobody answered the phone. We were then informed at drop off that to avoid additional charges we should have called but the single person on the desk was too busy to answer? Also we are a bit confused about your late return charges policy. WE have been charged 50 Swiss Francs plus tax but non of your staff could inform us of where this figure comes from. The small print in the agreement appears to tend towards 15 Euros per hour. As previously mentioned I am disappointed that Budget took this stance and refused to take our comments into account as past experience with the company have generally been satisfactory. This will be considered the next time we look to hire a vehicle. "

Was also a bit disappointed to see an additional (unforeseen) charge debited from my credit card which I wasn't aware of until the return of the car (despite no damage, no fuel needed and no overstay). " As always in Geneve the cars are newish and clean, and in very good order, but this time i got the car that i booked for the first time. All the staff were first class, but at drop off the car was not inspected, i did ask them but just said everthing ok and I said yes, and they just said ok finished and took the key. "

" Externally clean car - internal looked like no one had bothered cleaning. I have a picture of the rear seats that were muddy and the front centre console had some unpleasant sticky muck near to seatbelts. It felt unclean. If Autoeurope link me to Budget as a partner supplier again then I will cancel my booking through you. I regularly use you and normally excellent. I was also charged for late arrival due to EasyJet being late - unsure if that's something you help with or I just have to cover the extra. "

" Our flight to Geneva was delayed. I spent the 2.5 hours trying to speak to someone at Budget to find out whether they would be waiting for our arrival or we would be left at 11:30 at night high and dry. Never got Budget as they put phone down. Finnally got Auto Europe as the flight was taking off, who we asked to continue to ring Budget. They refused to say it wasn't their problem!!! As it was I left my family and ran through the airport to arrive at the Budget desk at 11:40pm to find them still there after their close time of 11:30pm. All was good there after with both the car and handovers. But it would have saved ALOT of family worry if someone from Budget or Auto Europe could be bothered to deal with an issue by answering the phone and in the case of Auto Europe, give a dam. "
